I stopped by a local bike shop today and found this used cruiser! It’s an Electra Townie 8D Commute. I took it for a test drive and omg, what a fun, comfy bike to cruise around on.
I know cruisers aren’t super popular for commuting, but I work from home and really only need it to go for small trips to the nearby lake, the farmers market, maybe the grocery store. It’s already set up with a rear rack, so it’ll be easy to attach a basket or panniers.
It’s $299 and comes with fenders, the rear rack, a kickstand, lights. I’ll add front & back baskets to brighten up the beige color.
I’m super excited. I grew up in Southern California riding beach cruisers and this is super nostalgic for me.
