Hi there,
Looking for a decent hybrid bike, most important thing for me is that its durable and won’t break so easily and that the gear shifters work well and don’t break/need a lot of maintenance. I do want to be able to go really fast and don’t want a bike where the max gear is still too light.
I live in the Netherlands so everything is flat. I will be using the bike in the city to go to work and sometimes for a medium long trip during the weekend.
I have made a 99 spokes comparison for you guys to check out: [https://99spokes.com/nl-NL/compare?bikes=merida-speeder-100-2024%2Cmerida-speeder-400-2023%2Ctrek-fx-2-disc-2023%2Ctrek-fx-3-disc-2023](https://99spokes.com/nl-NL/compare?bikes=merida-speeder-100-2024%2Cmerida-speeder-400-2023%2Ctrek-fx-2-disc-2023%2Ctrek-fx-3-disc-2023)
I was looking at the Trek FX 2 but my worry is that the parts and especially gears are not durable enough.
Smooth gear shifting is important for me.
I can get the Speeder 400 2023 for 1200 euro’s. It’s a bit more then I initially wanted to spend but maybe I should do it if its really worth it in the long run.
Which one should I get? Are the lower end bikes good enough for my needs or should I invest a bit more and get a tier higher?
Any other recommendations are also appreciated.
Thanks a lot everyone!
