Having visited Nimes, we descend into the pits of hell as the temperatures soar. And we we reach the coast and the Eurovelo 8 the Via Rhona is a pleasant distant memory as the cycle path degrades going through the coastal towns.

Good as time is any to catch up on things uh Tuesday 11th actually got the date right for once we are about 9 and 1 half miles outside of NE um going up our first climb of the day not much clim it’s a mile long at about 3 or
4% got tarda chirping away as always I think uh I don’t know we might lose when we get to the coast actually we’re going to be in areas where it’s maybe not so not so Woody is uh see a couple busy roads coming out of NE just see where the road R
Up towards the top yeah a couple busy roads coming out NE be expected stay in a Lovely Hotel in NE hotel theet which was not even 30 seconds walk from the actual Amphitheater itself actually a really nice hotel so we had a big spacious room I think the guy said something like a
16th century room or something had airon anyway she’s lovely um see yeah we got to name about lunchtime yesterday just early well late morning we just plan giving the fact we’ side off so early go and uh with but it’s just ridiculously hot I think I 40°
Something so we got to the hotel it’s a bit strange it’s quite a small hotel so there’s no one on reception permanently no sign of anybody so we went around the corner to a local restaurant Brey it was okay it was a little bit touristy in terms of the offering but
There everything is around that part of NES it’s the main Hub so we had lunch there Le run under shade with a couple of fans good um then we went back to the hotel Joe realized that there was a little toilet downstairs so we got changed this tiny
Cubby of a toilet so at least get our cycling gear off um we didn’t know what to do with the bikes really but then luckily um couple of the staff were around they said we could bring our bikes in and store them in like their Lounge area is what we
Did so we then went and bought some water and ice tea and orena and then walked up local park found the shadiest bit we could it’s still bloody hot and it’s uh vegged around there for an hour or so wed back to the hotel we able to sit inside where it was cooler
Lovelier um checked in at four kind of watched Telly snoozed a bit just didn’t really cool down so you got any Vineyards plenty to offer miles miles um yeah so we did that pop around to a local tie takeway fast food place which is okay cheaper than a restaurant and then went
On to Sam Smith concert which was really good so we’re quite high up in the stands in the amphitheater but kind of pretty almost opposite the stage so couldn’t really see a lot of detail on the stage there’s no screens uh but really good concert Sam Smith is a good really good performer
Um so he got really got the crowd going with some of his uh banging tunes that sort of stuff today is really good really nice night and the good thing was that didn’t take long to get out the stadium and then 30 seconds later we’re back at the hotel so we had
Talked about going early again this morning but we said no s it we’ll just wake up when we wake up um and go we did so we left about 9:00 haven’t had any breakfast yet don’t really feel like it might have a cereal bar or something think that Lori coming around the
Corner the plan is so we’ got 60 mil to do stage so 60 miles but the plan is to get to egg Mort for lunch SL brunch I think it’ be more like lunch from brunch but um to go into the city there a town there which is lovely really interesting place
Um and then carry and then by that time we’ll be on the coast we’ve just done this one climb we got to drop down the other side shortly and then it’s literally flat all the way down to the coast we pick up what’s left of the viona and I think it’s also combined
With the Mediterranean route then as well which will be our our guide for the next couple of days by and large and uh yeah and as Joe is working out we’ve got four days cycling left we going to set today have you taken a picture of this over here what these new basically
These are all fruit tree sa things yeah and they’re all in buckets oh the buckets are them or plastic bags or whatever and they’re all attached with a dripper to the bottom of the bag right so they’re just watered constantly to get them going yeah as needs to be and then they’ll
Either get planted or move to wherever they need to be moved to I guess that’s amazing good well they need they need the water to get going first of all don’t they before they get established sorry so yes we got four day cycling yeah set knob
On uh sorry we’re going to set tonight then set knob on tomorrow day off on Thursday then I think that’ll be yeah day off on Thursday and then Friday Saturday Sunday across into Spain and Barcelona well yeah it’s it’s uh need to set set now
On now off in now on B then I B to laulu yeah uh laulu to Jona yeah and then uh Jona to Barcelona and if we wanted to shortcut it all as we came across the motorway out of NE there’s a big sign on the Gantry for the motorway going Barcelona
So if you wanted to be really quick just jump on the motorway on our bikes and see how quickly we get arrested or killed so that’s full of good ideas gabin yeah yeah that’s where we are so far today so just about to descend down and then
