Why is our train not up there? My name is Brian Cox, but most people know me as The Travel Vlogger. I’m always in search of extraordinary experiences, And on the is adventure I’m biking over 700 kilometers across the Czech Republic. Come with me to see what makes this destination, so special!
We woke up, packed, ate some food and then headed to the train station. Dobré ráno, good morning! As you can see we are leaving Prague. Heading south in the direction of Tabor, so come with us, join in the journey. The train took about an hour and 45 minutes.
When we arrived our new cycle guide was there to meet us. Meet Radek. He will be showing us around south Bohemia for the next few days. First we would take a quick ride around Tabor. We stopped to see a few sites and check out the main square before taking a beer break
To get to know Radek a little bit better. Then we jumped on our bike and pedaled back to the train station. Alright! We wandered around Tabor, but now we are jumping back on the train to a mystery destination. We rode the train for about 30 minutes.
Passing some nice scenery along the way before arriving in Bechyně. We departed from the train station and headed to the center of town to get a quick bite to eat before riding towards Hlubolká. We rode for about an hour, and we were quickly realizing this was going to be
One of our hardest days of riding. A lot of hills on Day 6. Welcome to South Bohemia. Oh man! So Day 6, so far, has been so much harder than any of the other days. A lot of elevation. Well…I’m from Florida so that does not mean a whole lot,
But we have gone up a lot of hills and just when I think I could not go any further, we came across this amazing meadow. Check this out! And if you want to see it from the sky watch now! Flying the drone was a perfect excuse to stop and take a rest.
We were instantly rewarded with mesmerizing views of the Vltava river and surrounding forest. We had another 10 kilometers of riding until we would arrive to Hlubolká. The first thing we did when we arrived, was visit the Hlubolká castle, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic.
Unfortunately we arrived too late and it was closed, but what wasn’t closed was the local microbrewery. [sigh] I am so thirsty right now! Let’s get a beer. Come on. We were able to take a quick tour of the brewery as well as get to try some of of their delicious brews.
Now it is time to get something to eat. Alright! We came in to the restaurant right next to the brewery, actually owned by the brewery. And when I saw they had some local venison, that was caught here in the region of southern Bohemia I had to say “Let’s do it!” Pretty good!
So what did you get? So I ordered the same like you, but with a pancake. It’s a special pancake from potatoes and garlic. It is really good. It’s local. A potato pancake? Why didn’t I get that? Because you are American! [laughs] So just so you know, if you want to try something new
Be sure to try the Czech potato pancake. What do you call it? Bramborák Bram-bur-rack Bramborák, ya. We will put the word right here. But if you want to be like a local You say “cmunda”. Cmunda. Ya. Potatoes, garlic and pancakes. Are those not the 3 best ingredients you have ever put together?
It might be! Lastly we headed to the hotel, how I made it this long was a mystery to me Oh, What are you guys still doing here? Brian is already in bed. I guess I will do the sign off for tonight so…take care of everyone… umm…we had a crazy day,
Lots of hills, I’m extremely tired so I’m going to go to bed now. But ya, show some love on the comments and on the like button you know you want to down, down somewhere down there, and we will see you tomorrow. Because I am being told, there is even more hills
So ya, really looking forward to that. Good night guys! On day 7 We leave Hluboká, Take a tour of the Budweiser Budvar brewery and arrive to the picturesque town of Český Krumlov. To see tons of great photos from the journey, or to post your own shots,
