I read about Matt from Suffer-Stoke Gear recently and decided to get in touch. I like supporting new businesses, and they’re often willing to work with you on unique stuff. I wanted some mini panniers and Matt was willing to build me something custom for less than most of the more established companies actually charge for off the shelf bags.
This is what he sent me for $150, currently attached to an Old Man Mountain Elkhorn rack on my Surly Ogre. They’re about 7L each and close with a button roll top. I plan to use them on other bikes, so there’s a ton of mounting options and a daisy chain along the front for strapping on even more stuff. They’re XPac material so pretty light and at least modestly waterproof (although not seam sealed).
I love the look and am heading out next month – can’t wait to test them out and will report back!
(Of note, I’m not affiliated with Matt or Suffer-Stoke in any way. Just took a shot on a new actor on the stage and pretty happy so far!)
