Got out on the new Intense 951 for the first time since having a post-delivery tune performed. Purchased from Costco while it was on sale for $1500. I opted for the 1×12 SRAM model because I like the simplicity of the 1x drivetrain.
The bike was delivered with a bent derailleur hanger, wheels out of true, and loose brake discs, but otherwise fine. A trip to the LBS was well worth it.
This is my first gravel bike and so far meets my expectations for a bike that will be more comfortable for longer haul dirt rides than my hardtail. I love the bike – it’s playful and a joy to ride over fire roads and single track. I find myself wishing for more gears on long stretches of paved road, but that’s what the road bike is for.
