In this video I show my room I currently live in. I ramble about some stuff. I arrive at Colombe’s. I come back from Colombe in the morning. You can experience the same road during the evening and during the morning.

How the night went:
——————————————————————-
I showed up at Colombe’s around 8:30 pm. She said that she had the pasta water boiling since I said I’d be there in 35 minutes lol. We ate pasta with pesto and listened to a Dutch song called Eurapapa. Colombe’s Dutch roommate even chimed in with more Dutch music suggestions. Then we moved to Colombe’s room to eat food, where things got weird with French songs playing, and I felt like i didn’t know what to do. Sometimes when I’m around people I feel out of place, and I don’t understand why. but yeah I guess I’m used to it.

Later, we joined Simone, whom I hadn’t seen in a month, in front of Kebab King at around 10:15 pm. He seemed a bit down, nostalgico. Colombe seemed to like him. We walked to Josh’s place, which took about 40 minutes. Josh is a bit odd, but I enjoy hanging out with him. Simone too. Colombe finds him creepy though.

We drank wine, talked politics with Josh, and then headed to a party at Pythagoraslaan around 1:30 am. The party was fun, I met Felix, Nori, and a couple of Italians. One of them, a gay Black guy from Milan, kept asking me for a lighter. We got pretty drunk and smoked a bunch of joints before the party ended around 5 am.

We took an Uber to Bambi, ate groot patat. I stole a lot of ketchup from Colombe. At 6:00 am Bambi closed. Back at Colombe’s, we made more pasta with pesto for three of us. We left around 7:30 am. Finding my bike keys took forever, and getting home felt like forever too.

But what a night! Hanging out with Simone, Colombe, and all those other folks was awesome. I feel very lucky.

Yo yo yo this is my room and today we’re going to talk a little bit about my Erasmus period here it’s already been like around 7 months since I’ve arrived so I can speak with conscious a conscious mind and a clear mind because I went through a lot of

Detail phases you can see this is my wardrobe but all those things are not mine uh and I cannot uh put anything there same here it’s very hard even to open it cuz it’s to narrow the space very very narrow those things are not mine those things are not mine here you

Have basically nothing I have no room to put my clothes in and this is a an100 a month place and that’s why I have have to work but you know it’s it’s all right I chose to to be here it’s not like somebody pointed a gun to my head and

Told me to go to the Netherlands yeah so what we’re going to do today I’m going to my friend’s house she lives um near the center near the center and I live uh in lights rain it’s about 7:30 7:40 p.m. so we’re going to arrive there I would say in 40 50

Minutes maybe if we’re lucky I also have to stop uh by the garbage bin because I have to throw some things through out oh yeah I need battery and also I need the charger for my battery because I don’t know what I’m going to do tonight if I’m going to

Sleep in my friend’s house or something cuz you never know what’s going to happen okay yeah I have the garbage uh garbage in my my uh backpack so I can’t put anything there but it’s not problem all right here we go I’m going check it maybe from this

Perspective you can see there maybe not actually maybe you can I don’t know man oh I needed to throw some things out see you tomorrow okay yeah there’s not much light okay I noticed that uh even though it’s uh very dark now it will not be as dark uh like 2

Minutes and also I noticed that you guys can hear me even if there is a lot of wind maybe sometimes it’s harder but you know it’s very very casual Video it’s not something very sophisticated but it’s just to I don’t know spend some time with people in uh different uh times you know okay all yeah I need gloves otherwise otherwise I don’t know what would to my hands but not very good things yeah a little tired

Today cuz I went to actually didn’t go anywhere but I I studed I’m writing this paper it’s about answering an argument in favor of meat eating practices so uh it’s actually kind of easy because everybody’s writing about not eating meat I can just take arguments here and

There uh this guy is actually point he points out at something that’s very interesting A New Perspective that that I never heard of it’s kind of a new paper um yeah what he says is uh that we should look at the at the animals as if um we had a social

Contract that benefits both of us because he’s saying that uh and we know this for sure of course that uh we have a sh ton of animals in our lands uh like so many even more than humans and that’s because we uh started to eat the meat we need the meat from

The animals so we uh breed them I think breed is the right word but like we keep them in in fields and feed them and take care of them and everything um so his argument states that uh because of this social contract has been uh around for thousands of

Years if we if the life if uh we both benefit from this contract and he says that we benefit in a way that we can eat meat and they benefit in a way that uh there is more of them and uh he also points out that the lives of

The of the animals have to be overall good so uh for factory something like that animals uh those don’t count in this argument just counts he just counts the um the animals that live an overall good life uh yeah he says because of this contract we have to respect our duties

And we have to keep eating animals uh so there can be more animals and we can have a lot of uh food easily uh I don’t know if this is a good argument some people also say that it’s a troll argument uh so I don’t know because Al of course

He’s not looking looking at the at the problem problem the yeah you could say it’s a problem actually uh in a consequentialist way so he doesn’t care about the outcome he just cares about what happened in the in the past and he like animals have to respect their duties and we do

Too but this is I I don’t really like this argument for uh two major things holy what did they throw in the bridge okay um yeah I’m going to throw things in here GL what’s that don’t I’m I don’t I feel like this neighborhood is pretty safe but people

Here are very very weird like the other day I was uh standing there because my waiting spot is around there uh when I don’t receive orders I have to go somewhere and here that’s the only waiting spot and also my starting point too rest of all it should be yeah yeah

Yeah this should work um this lady came to me oh yeah I have this this lady asked me what I was doing there and because she thought I was suspicious she she told me that like feel suspicious I’m like I’m just doing my my job nothing more nothing else so yeah

That was that was [Applause] yeah in the Netherlands people are very very uh into those kind of fireworks every now and then actually every day you hear those uh sounds it’s actually fun I I like those I mean I don’t like them for animals or for children and things like this is and

They sometimes they’re too um powerful but when they’re like made for kids and they’re not too uh High pit sound um I like them if they’re if they’re not too uh dangerous it’s it’s good in my opinion right C around yeah say 35 okay oh

Okay what I was saying what was I saying I don’t even remember what I was talking about uh oh had the argument of the anti vegan guy I don’t even remember his name it’s it’s like s volley something like that it’s weird name I don’t know where it’s

From no that’s that’s his Sur name his name is actually Nick yeah Nick where should go I really doubt you guys can hear me it’s too much wind let’s stop talking for a Bit okay maybe now you can hear me I don’t know uh but yeah that’s his argument and you can uh uh object that he’s not uh he’s uh ass assuming he he also kind of argues and tries to uh get this as a conclusion from other assumptions uh and the conclusion is

That the animals are actually benefit benefiting from this practice of uh eating meat from from animals because as I as I told you there are more animals now of One species this is yeah um and what uh you could argue is that by killing the animal earlier you make his overall

Life uh worse than uh than the life he could have had if he was a wild animal or or something like that so that’s a pretty strong uh argument against his theory uh because everything could would basically collapse uh if this actually proves to be right and also it’s very hard to uh

Get straight number of like how good a life of an animal is or how bad it is and also another thing that can uh counter this argument is is the uh the things that um like if you I find it a little bit hard to explain it in English that if you

Uh if you use this kind of uh argument historical view uh for humans you could say a lot of things and you could uh uh say that a lot of things the humans do are morally good even though they are they are um uh morally bad by intuition

And it’s very easy to spot them like I don’t know if there was a practice of uh I don’t know two families uh eating themselves like one family is sitting another family and because this family is eting the other family then uh basically the same argument but with two families instead

Of one uh instead of humans and animals uh he could say he would say the same thing so like you you should uh keep eating animals uh keep eating humans because there there’s going to be more of that them so you treat them badly basically by killing them because

He doesn’t address The Killing as a bad act yeah it’s it’s very to be hard to explain uh it’s not very hard actually it’s just I don’t know my mind is tonight I studied a lot and I don’t even know if you guys can hear me I always

Doubt that I don’t understand how those microphones are this good because I can’t even hear myself that’s the thing that’s funny though um yeah let’s skip to uh what I was saying about my arasmus because this this trip was actually planned to you know uh talk about Myas arasmus experience I’ve

Already been here for around 7 months and I got an idea of how an arasmus works I would say it’s pretty awesome in general but also very very scary I haven’t haven’t been this scared about life in a long time uh I mean now I’m not as scared for the

Arasmus but for I’m going to do what I’m going to do afterwards because um I have big plans and big plans usually uh require also a little bit of risk involved especially if you have no money and I don’t get get I I don’t have much money like whatever I’m making now I’m

Spending so I basically have like zero Euros not not zero but like I’m going to come back to Italy with around 500 and what I’m planning to do afterwards is I want to start another Bachelor uh somewhere that’s not in Italy and that’s because the Italian

Econom me it’s it’s very bad it’s going downhill uh and you can see it year after year it’s always worse than worse I hope it doesn’t go too bad but I think it will if it keeps with this uh momentum so if I manage to somehow come to the Netherlands the the Netherlands

Is super Rich compared to Italy make some money so like get a degree in mathematics and also I would I would get this degree anyway like I want to study mathematics on a more deep level so even if I wouldn’t have gone here I would have gone to another

University maybe in Italy or somewhere and yeah problem here is that even in Italy it’s the same thing is that I have to work while I study so it will probably take me one year more I would say uh so about 4 years and then I can

Stay here travel around Europe in like good countries like the Netherlands or Northern countries and you know work create something and if I make a ton of money I really hope so uh yeah I know this is not like something that’s pure or pure hearted something like that it’s more something

That comes that I need I need money to leave because I can’t keep staying poor like this I was I wasn’t born rich of course I wasn’t even born middle class in Italy but luckily I was born in Italy yeah I will to say that

My aim my goal is to make some money good money or even a way to work uh from Italy and and make the money that I would make here so even like comparing the economy now if I could make like 3,000 a month and here it’s very easy

You just need to work 8 hours a day 40 hours a week you easily make uh 3,000 a month and if I can manage to do that I can go I can go back to Italy where I lived before I can chill in some place without any problems

Yeah because things weird things about uh the society here is that it’s I wouldn’t say it’s not open-minded because it’s very open-minded way more than in Italy but it’s somehow closed in a way I don’t know how to explain it like people Work work and I mean I I said work because they that’s that feels like they all they do is work because even when they have leisure activities it’s like their mind has their mind has schemes so they it’s I don’t know it’s very hard for me to interact with them they’re less spontaneous

Um what is the I don’t know oh yeah so this was a video about my arasmus and I’m never talking about my arasmus nice that’s very bad uh yeah no yeah the beti thing about thing about going on erasmos is that you man you manage to get to know a different culture that’s

The main main thing because usually when you go on a holiday or even for a month I would say you don’t really get to know the the culture there I would say right now I’m starting to understand them uh not understand them but like get more into the

Culture uh by doing activities and everything but I already did them at the start it’s from the start that I’ve been doing those kind of activities and everything but now it’s uh like my mind has formed an opinion about the differences from Italian and uh Dutch people

So yeah I think you need at least 4 months or something like that or at least in my opinion in my case I need those kind of months but yeah uh that’s the the prime benefit I would say also of course studying in another in another University you you literally

Get to know people from all around the world and that’s awesome you know so many cultures and you’re not um what what I found is that even though I was I’m not usually I’m not very close-minded as a person like there are all these stereotypes around

About Italian people who act in a way or do some things for their pride and everything I always found them a little bit stupid but there there are some things that I didn’t even think about that were for for me it was just I never thought about them like the fact I know

It’s weird because I’m Italian but the fact that we eat uh at specific time a specific time time during the day um when we eat uh we usually have big uh lunch B dinner we talk with other people it’s it’s a a way of gathering people here it’s completely different

You don’t gather together having dinners dinners are way more reserved for people you already know and while in Italy uh if someone organizes an activity I don’t want to yeah yeah while in Italy if someone organizes an activity it feels a little bit awkward here it’s very normal to socialize through

Activities even though it’s something planned out and you get to know people who do the same activities as you do so you don’t get too much out of your comfort zone meeting other people that’s something yeah that’s something it’s not close-minded they’re not close-minded but as I already told you but they yeah

They are they stay in their comfort so a lot more that’s what I noticed but also I I don’t even say that absolutely too much wind go oh those Riders are dying holy this is absolutely the worst bridge in WRA to cross sucks yeah okay now there’s no not as much

Wind yeah what I was saying is that no it’s not even a bad thing that they stay in their comfort zone but yeah they’re very used to stay in their comfort zone even when they go to to work I would say it’s way easier to work here you get treated like an actual

Human being and I’m not saying that’s bad absolutely what I’m just saying is that they’re not used to having hard their life as of course like I think African people could say the same thing about Italians or even Polish people could say the same things about Italians

So I don’t even find it bad or something it’s just it is what it is is it’s life uh I need to stop It’s too much wind my ears okay okay I feel I already feel better yeah the wind yeah so I was very um used to the weather in Italy I take I take it for granted there in Italy it’s there are a lot of sunny days not many rainy days uh the forests are

Very next to my house I I can go for a hike every day and yeah there’s so many things that of course the Netherlands is missing because of their geographical uh position but yeah I miss ity when I go back there I want to take

Some videos of me hiking or I don’t know going uh for runs near my house I don’t really go for uh going out with a bike usually and that’s because um that’s because I really hate uh the roads in Italy they’re very dangerous we don’t have cycle

Paths I would say maybe in some cities we do have them but they’re still dangerous so not very safe but yeah going for works completely different super safe better than here uh you see a lot of nature completely different it’s very quiet where I live too so yeah so those are the things

That opened my mind up more I would say one thing I really try to uh aim for is it’s not like to get things in life like I mean not to get physical things but I’ve done this I’ve done that uh I usually try to become better

And that that’s what makes me more proud of myself and being more happier I can always become better and better and better in so many different fields and everything so it’s not about what I actually do but where I become and Yeah one thing I would uh absolutely encourage people to do when they are they are uh on erasmos wait where should they go here I have to cross the road yeah um this encourage them going to wait encourage them to um get out of their comfort zone because

What I’ve seen is that a lot of people who actually do get out of their comfort zone and they end up meeting people and everything like I actually did for me it was maybe a little bit harder than usual but from what I see I see people that are way more interesting

And I feel like those kind of people learn a lot more during this I would say one lifetime experience because it’s it’s not like I hope I have to go this way I don’t really remember it look yeah I think so yeah yeah yeah it’s a one lifetime experience so it’s it’s absolutely

Uh no I wouldn’t say it’s mandatory it’s advisable to get what you can from this experience the best that you can uh yeah so get out of your comfort zone with people that’s the only thing I would advise others to do and what and also what I advised myself to

Do uh yeah Al also just keep up with your work but don’t be stressed about it I was absolutely lucky because I’m I would say I’m a little smarter than other people um when I when we talk about um assignments and like that I usually can get more done with way

Less time that’s how I um how I work and study at the same time um so yeah I managed to get good grades anyways but I didn’t try nearly as hard as when I was uh back in Italy because I was trying to do a lot of other different things that

Especially meeting people going out like the other day for instance yeah the other day I went to I came back from working at 11:30 in the evening and I went out anyways like 1: p.m. 1:00 a.m. that was kind of hard for me but I’m so sure it was very much well worth

It because all these people that that I see now it’s it’s way easier to make friends here everybody is starting over everybody’s as as H scared as you so yeah it is very very not easy okay but easier it’s EAS EAS here yeah than usual okay she should leave

Somewhere around that corner or something like that I don’t remember it but we’ll see yeah one one other thing I would advise to people going to arasmus is to create the group of the group of people it’s very hard very very hard you have to have a stable mind and

Everything but if you manage to create the group of people people that you like uh you will always stay you know you will always uh when you go out you will always feel good because you chose those people it’s not like you got uh five roommates and you’re hanging

Out with them all the time even though you don’t like three of them and I see people did that it’s understandable but also I don’t know I just like to experience more things and more people uh so yeah if you can manage to gather everything everyone in one place

I don’t know going out together together go into activities together people that maybe maybe didn’t know each other before but you introduce one to another they’re going to be glad to you so very useful um yeah I basically arrived and always be available for other ones uh this bulk bulk B

I think it’s this one but I’m not sure y maybe it’s not this oh yeah yeah yeah yeah I’ve been here three times twice I was drunk so don’t remember this one yes [Applause] we going to put it here actually don’t think anybody listen to the whole video

Because it was me just rambling about stuff but yeah those kind of videos the videos that I’m making now are very useful to put my thoughts together and yeah I could just think the same way without expressing myself so without speaking it out loud but it would be different um yeah maybe

Actually not maybe I’m not absolutely sure I will make a couple of videos on my main Channel Betten where I where I will talk about uh this arasmus things and also uh some other mental problem stuffs I really enjoy sharing views that are little different from what you usually see so

Yeah see you guys I’m here it’s uh 7:30 and I’m going back home so this is a story that ends it began yesterday evening at around 7 8 um it’s going to end today at round 8 12 hours story if I can manage to arrive Home in for up it’s crazy to think how lives are different this girl is going to run out I’m going back home to sleep and I’m super out of my mind doesn’t make sense like and wa I’ve just wanted to stop leaving this hard I don’t know if it’s worth it sacrifice as

Much to get miss anything back oh my God for for is For is for for [Applause] yeah for for for for for is Cuts cuts Bye by
