The reality is we just don’t go here enough.. and we have no excuse considering how close to home this place is. It’s only about a 45 minute drive to hit the chair lifts and enjoy a day of pure downhill black diamond trail goodness.

Little Switzerland AKA “Lil Switz” is a lift access mountain bike park located in Slinger, Wisconsin. It is normally open a few Sunday’s a month and is a “must visit” for all skill levels. It has easy green trails with berms and optional drops all the way to double black diamond trails with gap features, jump lines, and even some technical descents.

This time around Erin AKA Fruit Punch and myself ran into some local legends Chase AKA Papa Chase and Jon Wells for a few laps in the park. We hit all the favorites including Jammer, Mainline, The Gauntlet, Devil’s Canyon, and a new line for us The Badlands. The weather was perfect, the stoke was high, and we finished with a delicious Bloody Mary at the lodge to cap off the great day.

A Sunday like this is another great reminder that if you just get outside and get on your bike… good things will happen.

  1. I wish this place was open more often. We're about 2.5 hours away, but have never been there because it's only open like 8 sundays a season. We had tickets once earlier this summer, but it got canceled due to rain. OPEN UP FRI THRU SUNDAY AND WE'LL COME, I SWEAR! So frustrating that Wisconsin only has one damn bike park, considering how many small ski hills we have that are hurting for revenue. We went to Welch over in Red Wing MN two years ago and it was a blast…..then they closed the bike park for good. Meanwhile Granite Peak wants desperately to build one, but has to jump through a million hoops because it's on State Park land. Mayyyybe that will be a reality, in like 2024. So…..we end up driving all the way to Colorado for 2-3 days at Trestle. If Swiss was just….open, like normal places, I'd be down there a half dozen times a season.
