On March 3rd 2024 we took part in the 26th Logicom Cyprus Marathon. What a wonderful event with Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k and 5k distances catered for. There’s even a Wine Run on the Tuesday for those of us who fancy a gentle jog and some wine tasting to wrap up the holiday.
This was my 10th marathon and not one of my best, but the course, the company and the organisation were excellent and this is definitely a good event to choose if you’re looking for some Spring sunshine and a few days away.
Back home in the UK 3:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning so good morning and welcome to the 26th edition of The Logical Cyprus Marathon 2024 what’s the angle I’m not playing that game it’s the same business with a different name who’s the target sorry morning folks here we are at the
Start an hour until the start time I was hoping they’d leave the coach for us to have a little nap on before we uh actually had to get out and do some stuff but here we are at Aphrodite’s birthday place the start they haven’t constructed the start yet we got about
An hour as we to Mill around so we’re going to going use the L before it gets busy anyway see you in a few minutes bye for now this SP somehow I’ll just take my Chances Collective pressure it’s about time for another lecture you do it to if you knew what’s good for you future here we are 10 minutes to go good luck to day have a good one [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] yeah [Applause] go my I don’t want to put a penny in your machine I don’t want to put a penny in your Machine fol it’s about 5k done coming up to the first water station and uh just tagged on to a little group with the 4our pacemaker which might be a bit optimistic but here we are got water guys excuse me for a minute we have a drink of water and uh Carry On
Running I’ll check back in with you Later the sun’s out just over 10 miles folks will make it halfway 13 mil just about 21k that’s the uh the 4our pacemaker and his group I’m I’m struggling now to stay with them so I think they’re going to maybe slide away see how it goes 24 km
Gone guys just over 3 hours 31 km and the wheels have fallen off last 5K has been utterly horrible so we’re just struggling to walk run right now but anyway poing up we’re having a way of time just two Park runs left to go that doesn’t sound too bad does
It 35k done and just kind of heading into POF town again now round the roundabout a little py walk folks my new friend Roger from Canada well he’s been in Canada for about 40 four years now that sounds more English than Canadian but he’s been there a long time and uh what Roger
Doesn’t know last year in Malta Roger was here in Malta doing the marathon same time as I was and I recognized him okay rer said was go let’s Go 2 km from the Finish we’re nearly there so folks just coming into the Harbor Than you Guys Thank you thank [Applause] You oh folks last couple hundred meters moment’s peace and quiet oh said i’ been told to go go go so she’s right of course go go go let’s go go Go We’re there we done It folks there we go logican Cyprus Marathon 2024 and what an atmosphere here at the Finish very tough run really tough but um absolutely brilliant event and just we’re having a party here Grand so thanks for coming along hope you enjoyed it see you soon He
