Hi, I’m looking for any information on McKinley bikes sold in Canada in the 80’s & 90’s. I found a used one with a broken rear derailleur and I’ve done some basic repairs (read derailleur, 1 new cable, rear tire, brake levers) & tune up to get in running condition.
The internet literally has no information on the brand or the bike. What I could gather so far through extensive research is that is was sold at a big box store (Canadian Tire) in the 80’s & 90’s and that there’s nothing really great about it. What I’m looking to find is if the frame was good quality and if it is worth spending money on to modify with quality parts (tires, wheels, groupset, chain, cabling, etc.). I personally like the colour and the handlebar that I found on it.
