Dylan says on the teams website – ” I first got into cycling after watching the Tour de France in 2011, I then started to ride with my dad and entering local races soon after. Cycling is my life and what motivates me every day. I’ve spent the past 4 seasons racing and living in Spain with some good success, taking victories in the hilly terrain of the Spanish Basque Country. I am very excited to come home to the UK and start this new project as part of the Saint Piran setup, hopefully putting to use my experience racing across Europe. I would describe myself as a punchy rider who excels on the hillier terrain but hopefully, I can show that I’m much more than just a climber.”
Done this race before what’s it like so early and it’s still winter yeah yeah it is quite cold this morning actually is it but um yeah well I did I did uh ports down a couple weeks ago and that was quite good um that was a long journey
For you it was yeah I just wanted to get racing I’m not raced in the UK for a for a while I’ve been in Spain for the last four years so uh yeah um wanted to get racing and yeah had a good kit out last time and looking forward to it this week
As well well I had been following you when you were racing abroad just give us an idea summary of how long you’ve been away where you been it Spain wasn’t it yeah yeah so I was in uh Pamplona uh so kind of the north North Spain race a lot
In the bass country right um and yeah it’s really good it was it’s different to hear kind of bit hiler but not kind of insanely hilly it’s just it’s kind of different I think L people think that um yeah it’s going to be insanely different here but it’s it’s not massively it’s
Still a bike race wherever you go so uh yeah it’s uh it’s good but it was time to come back home and time for a change change a team so yeah looking forward to the year with um Zer and huskies and yeah looking forward to it well I guess
Looking at what happened to the team last year with with the likes of Jack and z and and others all going to to pro team um must be a good um a thing to come to the team like this yeah running for the under 23s or yeah so it’s the Yi
So it’s a development team I think the seven yeah seven of us on it three of them are under 23 and then yiss or whatever yeah yeah yeah um four of us over under 23 so um but yeah now I think he working really close with the cony
Team so yeah it’s a new team for this year so yeah we’ll we’ll kind of see what the Calendar’s looking really good um we got it a couple weeks ago and yeah looks like good opportunities in the UK and as well as um abroad as well quite
Some quite big races abroad so yeah so do you know what your program’s going to be like that uh yeah it was uh so yeah through until May does that mean the under 23 series at all well not for me I’m not under 23 but yeah for the for
The under3 three guys I assume that they’ll be doing that yeah and then um yeah but for me it’ll be mainly that be’s until then at the end of April we’ve got the first UCI race and we’ve got a good kind of block in France and Belgium throughout uh April May and then
Yeah some some bigger kind of stage races as well towards the end of used used the racing to find the form and then use it yeah that was definitely the plan yeah kind of test the early season form and yeah hopefully get some good results under my belt as well um in the
First part of the year and then yeah used Tel to take um the big races with a lot of confidence hopefully I hope the Aussies don’t find it too cold here when they come over yeah they’re coming in I think middle of March think middle of March but yeah
It’s um yeah I think it’s a lot colder here today than it probably is in Australia for them two guys out there definitely definitely good luck today thank you
