Welcome onboard my winning POV Full Run at the first ever Mountain Bike Mass Start Race in Asia.

The « Himalayan Enigma » was organized in the heart of Nepal, in Dolakha. More than being the first ever Mass Start race in Asia, it was also the biggest one in term of vertical drop (9000 feet), compared to the famous Megavalanche in L’Alpe D’Huez – France.

The track has been drawn on an ancestral path. The ‘Trail of the Gods‘ derives its name from the paths traveled by the exiled Pandava Brothers during their 13-year exile in the ancient Hindu epic, the Mahabharata. Among them, Bhimsen was revered as a god, with the Dolakha Bhimsen Temple marking his divine presence along this legendary trail.
Each rider started 150 feet below a sky-high Kalinchowk Bhagwati temple at 12361 ft and finished at the Tamakoshi River at 2821 ft.

At the end, YES, I won the « Himalayan Enigma » ! But as you know, it was clearly not the goal. On the other hand, I’m proud to donate my prize money to Arun, to pay the fee for his school, in addition to all the gifts that you’ve given to the Katmandou bike scene.

  1. Larry Bird entered the locker room before the 3 point contest and walked around the room. Someone asked what he was doing and he replied, “I’m just looking around to see will take second place.” I’d bet that all of the riders think the same thing when they see KB at the starting line.

  2. My tongue tightened and my mouth dried by watching this! Imagine if I converted this video into a VR and got a stiff neck while risking a heart attack. You are a crazy SOB riding GOD! Be safe!

  3. Great job KIlian! Loved the race video. The faces of the other riders who placed second and third were heartwarming. I could tell the race meant everying to them and they were proud to have pushed you to victory. If you keep making more videos, I will keep watching them. You are one of my favorites!

  5. I think you could probably reduce the amount of commentary notes, at least during the more intense sections where it's really better to actually be watching the run. Either way another insane event and great vid

  6. You work way harder for the money than those doped, overpayed Tour de France pros. But you also have a lot more fun. I loved that hi speed part through the trees. Judging by the whistles intervals I had the impression that your pursuers were only seconds away. Great job Kilian.

  7. Wow!!! That was the craziest bike race I've ever watched!! I live and train at 2130 meters and I cannot comprehend how a human being can maintain that level of exertion, intensity, and focus for that long at that altitude. Unbelievable!

  8. i love thiz but i have no bike like yours
im from philippines im ur fan bro. i want to experience this track hope your ok when every you have a tail.

  9. I appreciate the insight that you shared in the comments on screen, but would really prefer if they were optional as I found them too distracting from the delightful downhill zooming – could you put them as youtube subtitles in the future?

  10. question… do you have a powermeter? I am quite curious of the watts you push on all those uphill and flat section.. looks super hectic…

  11. Holee crap, that last downhill part😮😮😮

Our former PM had a cycling accident at the age of 40 that left him paralyzed and bedridden for three months. He not only learned to walk again, he returned to cycling and would make regular 180 km rides from the capital to his home town, with his security team struggling to keep up! In other words, I'm sure your friend will be able to overcome his injury.

Bravo!!!

  13. Love love love your videos dude! I'm always super super impressed when you mention your heart rate! My maximum as a 170 and I feel like I'm dying, I've no idea how on earth you manage to keep your pace at that, seriously amazing work.

  14. Nepal was the First Nation to have paved roads and once was a beautiful land, even 30 years ago I would hear of people I knew travel there to see it. They’ve turned the nation into a 3rd world country..I’m tremendously thankful I live in America

  15. Salut Killian !

  16. Love your videos, watch most of them. I watch exclusively on the phone. The subtitles are getting to small and I'm struggling to read them. I didn't even realise that you had the live ranking up the top right until like near the end because it was so small and the colour blended into the background. Would love an overlay with you heart rate and speed!

  17. I have spent years being annoyed at the MTB riders in my local forests. Finally I have watched a full video of a race, and understand the attraktion.
From this day I will cheer them on instead.
