Students from Ukraine to become stud students at our University so um that’s why I here with you today and I want to give you more information about our University and of course at the end of my presentation there will be uh some time to answer um your questions that

H say a couple of um general information about our city uh at the map of Germany you can find our Bavaria region where we are situated uh marked orange so you can see as well that we are really very close uh to Munich city I suppose you
All heard about it and on the left um picture you can see that oxburg is situated in the middle of um Europe map so it’s also very popularly called a heart of Europe here on the picture um in the left uh bottom corner you can see
Our main square and uh it’s a very popular place um not only for the tourists but also um for all of the students and people who live in oxburg so if you decide to come um to us you will definitely uh be there very often one uh interesting fact that might
Uh be very interesting for you of course at the beginning as that we do not have any tuition fees at our University so if you decide to study at um Technical University in alburg you will not have to pay any tuition fees you just have to pay a so-called administrative uh fee in
Amount of50 each semester so it’s around € 300 per year but we do not have any tuition fees that you have to pay for studying uh of course this is possible it is possible that this will change in the years that are coming but in this
Moment as I’m speaking um we do not have any kind of tuition fees for international students alburg is also uh popular because it’s a historical City but it’s also known as a very popular student City so uh if you come to alburg you will definitely have opportunity to meet
Um many students uh coming from abroad as well most of our students have the opportunity to live in a student dormitories or flat shares we will come to this point uh a little bit later on in my presentation but I just wanted to show you a couple of pictures how the
Student dormitories in alburg look like of course they’re not um all the same but uh here you can see some of the typical student dormitory rooms for example you have your own small kitchen you have bedroom of course um and you have your table your bed and all the
Necessary things that you um need of course to live and to study um just to give you an idea alburg city has around six dormitories just for students and um I think it’s the best if you decide to come to alburg once you are applying for one of the study
Programs it’s of course um very good to start looking for a place to stay in an early phase a couple of months before you come to alburg um we like to say that alburg is a very safe City for the students because it’s not so big uh as other
Student as other cities in Germany such as Munich or maybe Berlin or Frankfurt so it’s much easier to get connected and of course uh all of our students feel very safe here so this was a little bit uh about the city of alburg now I want to
Continue with telling you more about our University here on the picture you can see uh our univ Technical University of applied sciences in alburg at least you can see uh two buildings because uh we are having we are divided on two campus and we have around 10 or El or 11
Buildings so uh this picture here is just one very small part of our campus um alburg uh University of uh Technical University of applied sciences is situated uh in the city center so it can also easily be reached with um public transportation such as tramps or
Buses or uh what is very popular among our students they like to come come to bike uh with bike to the university because if you are living for example in one of the student dormitories in alburg you do not have maybe more than 20 or 30 minutes depending on which in which
Dormitory are you you so uh it’s pretty close um our University is a medium siiz uh University I would say with around 6,700 students um from all over the world and we have uh approximately between 10 and 133% of international students at our University so you will definitely uh not be the
Only one coming from abroad we have a very large community of international students and of course um we have many ini initiatives where students help students let’s say at the beginning of uh your studies so you can uh easily uh get around alburg and do some things
That you have to do uh once you come to a new city um at our University we have seven faculties uh and uh they are divided in faculty of architecture design um economics computer uh science uh electrical engineering mechanical engineering and uh we have uh a
Faculty of um where you can study for example um social studies so it’s a pretty uh huge uh range uh of uh or variety of faculties and our study offer is uh very big so um I would just like to uh emphasize that we are a Technical University so we are
Um also very practice oriented and you can also um while during your studies you can get in contact uh with many companies in the region of course uh this is very popular or very interesting for our students because um many of them decide to stay in alburg or in this
Region called Bavaria where we are situated at and um they have or you would have very good opportunities to get to know some of the uh companies that are searching for uh Professionals in this particular field that we offer of course we will not have time today to
Go through all of study uh programs that we have and offer at our University so I will go quickly through each faculty and uh I will try to give you some general information which uh study programs uh we have so that you can Orient yourself uh and maybe find already something that
Is um interest interesting for you and after I finish I will also send you the link with our study offer so uh you will have time of course afterwards to uh take a look in our study offer and um if you will have some additional questions or detailed questions about context of
Particular study you can always contact me afterwards so we will clear that I will start with the faculty of design um we have not only bachelor Bachelor study level we also have Master Study level and um from this year you can also do a PhD at our University so if you decide
You can do a full study cycle at our University for example uh at the faculty of U design we have um programs such as communication design and interactive media and for example for interactive media you can also do a master program afterwards in the field of electrical um
Engineering at the faculty of electrical engineering we have also um Bachelor and master programs for example in electrical engineering mechanical engineering and so on uh of course as I already mentioned we have mechanical engineering you can do data science uh bachelor program you can do uh social work for
Example uh this is one of our newest program it’s um also very popular in the last few years so uh I would say uh you won’t make a mistake if you decide uh for any of those and the faculty of electrical um The Faculty of architecture um you
Can study architecture in Bachelor and master level you can we also uh um do a digital Biser study program and uh one of the very popular faculties among these are um is a faculty of computer science where you can study computer science systems engineering technical informatic economics combine um computer
Science with economics and you can also do it in English because almost all Bachelor programs at our University are in German language so you have to have German language to enter one of the bachelor programs here but for example at the faculty of computer science we do
Have one program which is starting in English language and it is called International Information Systems so this program um attracts um very high amount of international students I would say uh because of this opportunity to um start studying in English improving your German skills on the way as a part of a
Curricular and after that do some lectures in German language as well so this program would be the only one uh currently at our University which is starting in um English language and uh The Faculty uh which attracts most students um at our University is faculty of Economics you
Can um do um business administration bachelor program you can do International Management you can learn psychology in economics field and also you can uh um study fully in English if you decide to take a master program at faculty of um computer at faculty of economics and it is called international
Business and finance so on Master Level the program international business and finance would be the only program which is uh fully conducted in English language so to repeat on Bachelor level we have only one program who which is started in in English language and on the Master Level we also have only one
Program which is completely conducted in English language for all other study programs you will definitely need to have German language knowledge and it is um almost in all cases on B1 or C1 level so this is the entry level in German language that you need in order to enter
Our University of course we also have uh some of the language German language courses which prepares you for entering um our University but they are all conducted in alburg so if you are um currently not in oxburg or in alburg region I suppose it would be hard to
Participate um on them and come to alburg but I just wanted to mention that this is also possible if you are already already here um I also wanted to mention why are we famous in region why are why is our University famous and uh why it attracts so many students not only International
But only non International we are very practice oriented or oriented and we are well very famous because of that so we have many cooperation with many companies in uh Bavaria so we do offer our students the possibility to work and to find um a job during studying so you
Will have very good connections to to um to companies in the region we have um a variety of study programs in very different fields and we currently do not have any tuition fees you also um can feel very safe at our University and in
Our city and you uh we like to say or our professors like to say that you’re not just a number at our University uh you’re really important each of you would be very important uh to us to our University to the professors because they really want to um let’s say do the
Best possible professionals which will uh leave the University and uh work afterwards and they really want to help you on this way to become as much uh successful as possible uh as already uh said uh if you decide to stay in alburg to stay in Germany uh you will have um very good
Chances to find a job in the field that you were schooled uh because our study programs are developed on this way uh that we do have study programs which are wanted on the uh market so um I will say you won’t uh that most of our students do not have any problems with
Finding jobs okay so this was the part about universities and um study offer now I like to I would like to concentrate a little bit about questions uh which are very important for students um that come to albur that move from another city or that move from um another country and
Come live here at the beginning of course you have to ask yourself a question where I can live as a student in alburg uh I already uh talked a little bit about uh dormitories in alburg so this would be one of the possibili the second possibility would be
So-called vas in German or flat shares and the third possibility would be to have your own apartment apartment to rent your own apartment here um of course every uh possibility has some advantages or disadvantages so it also depends um of course on your financial possibilities and depends uh on your
Character and what you like if you like to hang out with a lot of other people other students that of course the dormatory would be uh the best uh option for you H because in dormitories you can uh find easily new friends you can easily meet new people and of course
This would be one of the um cheapest version of uh living I would say the second option A fled share it would be the second I would say um when it comes to financial situation so it’s a little bit more expensive than um place in a student dormatory and what does it
Mean that means that you are living in apartment that you have your own flat but you are not living alone you are sharing your flat with uh some other people maybe two three four people and each of you have your own room but you are sharing some um other um rooms such
As uh for example kitchen bathroom or of course and maybe living room and the most um expensive uh option uh for living would be uh to rent your own apartment but I think it’s pretty clear because why because you are uh living alone and you have to pay
All the costs such as electricity for example um by your own and you’re also responsible for everything um in your flat on your own I suppose uh that uh the question that comes afterwards or comes with it when you are thinking about studying uh in Germany is how much does it cost how
Much does uh a student life for example on a monthly base um would cost I would say it sometimes also varies and depends what kind of person are you on on what do you want to um spend your money for example in your free time but I would
Say that of course there isn’t any uh exact um amount um that I can say but I would say that um in general students do need between 700 and 900 per month um for your apartment uh or for a place uh for a room in a student dormatory you will usually need around
€300 EUR but if you are sharing a flat it can come to 500 per month and of course if you are living alone it can be much much more than 500 years you also have to think about health insurance that you have to pay um as an international student uh in
Germany or um on the other hand all people living in Germany have to pay health insurance so uh that would be one of the costs of course you have to eat something um you can um prepare the food for yourself or you can go to um cafeteria and menza at the University
And eat there we also have uh two cafeterias and one coffe bar where you can eat warm meals um every day from Monday to Friday and of course uh some of the other things would be um spending money in your free time uh or buying some clothes but that this is very
Individual and cannot be uh said only for in general because it’s very individual and it depends U uh on your lifestyle I would say but you will definitely have to um pay a a room or a flat health insurance you will spend money on uh food that you will eat and
Of course um for example for your mobile phone and so on um at the beginning I mentioned that I’m coming from International office uh so I would just like to say of course that I have some other colleagues working with me in the international office and we are taking care and
Helping International students so we are there for you uh for all kind of questions that you would uh maybe have or you already have about studying and alburg it also includes um application process it includes um topics such as getting a Visa or finding an apartment getting health insurance in Germany and
Of course um finan financial support because uh we do have many scholarships uh at our University offered from our University or maybe offered from some companies in the region or being offered on a state level so um you can find this information of course easily at our web
Page but uh if you cannot find it or maybe have some additional questions of course you can um always contact uh International office um with this part we came to the uh official uh to the end of my official part of the presentation but uh before I conclude and come to the question
Questions that you written me in the chat I would uh also like to say that um you’re are now thinking about studying and maybe study possibilities that might come or are interesting for you I would like to emphasize that at our University all Bachelor programs are starting always from October so this Academic
Year started a couple of weeks ago at the beginning of October that means um that uh you can always apply in the period from um May to July or maybe for some programs until August but let’s say that um the main application Phase begins always in May
And uh depending on the program can finish in June July or August so you still have a little bit more time to decide uh what do you want to study to inform yourself about application process but please bear in mind that um application process at our University will start uh next year in
May okay I will switch um to the question um to the questions uh that we have in chat and um of course uh if I I uh was not clear about some part uh just or if I do not see some kind of questions that you may be uh uh written
Already just write once again and I will I will answer the first question is uh is the question studying in English is free too yes that’s correct studying in German and in English at our University uh is free let’s say as already mentioned we do not have at the
Moment any tuition fees all students pay um so-called administrative fee uh in amount of €150 per month so uh we come to the amount uh of approximately €300 EUR per year uh once you are enrolled to our University once you become a student it does it it doesn’t matter which study
Program are you studying uh is it is this program in German language or in um English language we do not have any tuition fees and that is applicable to all study programs at our University okay the next question um all of the students have their room in the dormit
It’s a very good question um our University itself doesn’t have its own dories so uh once you apply uh for a study place at our University we cannot offer you automatically a place in a student dormitory but you can apply separately so the these are two uh different kinds of application one
Application for a study program and one application for um a place in a student dormitory you have to do it separately so it’s very important once you decide that you want to apply to our University once you finish the application process and if you get accepted you will um receive
So-called admission letter and as soon as you get the admission letter it’s a kind of invitation for you to study at our University you have to apply uh to a place in a student DM dmitory immediately because places in a student dormitory are the most popular ones so
Or in other words uh most of the students want to get a room in the student dormatory so it’s very impos uh very important to apply as soon as possible because of course uh if it happens that you do not get a room in the student dormitory you have to
Explore also um other possibilities such as flat shares for example so it’s very very important to have a good timing and apply immediately after you get your admission letter the second question or the next question would be are School certificates scores um matter I suppos do they matter when entering a
University so of course your uh school grades uh are very important depending on the program which you are applying for for some programs you have to have U very good grades uh but of course yes your previous School experience let’s say is very important but um all of your school
Certificates there are uh being checked from one U institution called uni is maybe you already heard about it and they’re us issuing your you a document called um preliminary the review documentation or shortly called VPD document this VPD document is one of the most important application documents for international students because on this
Documents document it says um whether you are eligible to study in Germany um and uh your uh School score from your previous education is being transferred to German system and uh we get your grade your score um converted into German scores because uh the uh the grades that you
Get uh in your Ukrainian school for example are not same to the grades that you are um that students or um pupils are becoming in um are getting in Germany so it’s very important to convert the scores into German grading systems uh system but you do not have to
Do that alone this institution is checking your school living documents and they are transferring and converting your uh grades into German uh uh grading system the next question uh in more detail where do students do their internship so uh our University um does have a cooperation with many companies uh in
Alburg and in the region alburg region uh of course and um students are our students can search for their internship by them themselves or they have to search for internships by themselves but your faculty and your professors are helping you to find a company where you can do your internship
So of course you once you uh start to study you may get idea from some uh fellow students or from from some uh people that you will meet at the University you maybe hear some about some interesting companies and maybe you find um yourself a company where would you like
To uh do an internship but if you’re not sure if you are not uh so experienced with um with this topic you do not have to worry because that’s why uh you have many practical works with u that Professor conducts with students uh you are divided in many students group uh
You are uh you are working with other students so uh I would say it’s uh it’s a very good uh uh way to get connected and to learn about companies where you can do internship and also very important to mention uh once per year I think in uh
May or June there is um one very huge event organized um at our University uh with cooperation with all companies from or many companies from the region where you can get direct uh in contact with people working in companies who are searching for people who have to do or
Would like to do internship so there is um that is some kind of um matching system I would say at this event because uh people from the companies workers from from the companies are coming uh telling you more about internship places and students interested are also coming
To the same place uh at the same time so it’s like a very huge event and uh many of our student students are participating on it so don’t worry about finding internship during your studies you will get so many information how you can do it where you can do it and when
You can do it so um don’t worry about it the next question would be uh what are the advantages of your University over other German universities so it’s also uh a question that uh cannot be uh answered with only once one sentence I think but it also depends uh what do you
Want uh if you would like to study at one of the University which is very practi practice oriented uh which gives you the opportunity to meet the the market where you will uh um work afterwards uh if you are interested in technical um topics if you’re interested
In uh study programs uh that combines Theory with practice such as computer science economics uh electrical engineering mechanical engineering if you’re interested in those kind of topics then I would say this is really best university where you can come and of course you always uh when you are comparing it to other
Universities in Germany you always uh have to be aware of your possibilities but more you have to be aware of your wishes what would you like if you like uh to come to the city with um very huge uh population of international students if you would like to join International
Community to be active uh in variety of student initiatives if you would like to uh get to know um students from all over the world and all of that in a place in a smaller town um such as alburg where you can reach everything very easily with public
Transportation then uh I would say alburg is almost the perfect choice for you next question uh are there any NC requirements to enter the university for those of you who maybe not know uh what is NC it is shortened from numerous Clauses uh so we have um several types of study programs or
Requirements one of the requirements are NC um study programs or maybe uh easier to explain these are the study programs where we have uh very big amount of application uh coming and we cannot offer so much study places so they are restricted and it’s called NC for example for program um
Economic psychology we get maybe 600 applications but we can only uh welcome 90 um 90 students each year so you see uh how huge the the difference can be from um how many applicants to how many students these programs or some of the programs are restricted but
Not all of them we have some of the programs which are called socalled um programs with assessment test that means that you have to apply you have to send your documents but you have to do assessment test uh um as well or for uh very creative programs I would say such
As architecture or design you also have to submit portfolio of your previous work works so um there are some NC um programs at our University but there are also uh some of the programs which are not restricted so you just have to fulfill all all the requirements and you
Will get accepted let’s say if you f fulfill all the requirements but if you are not sure um about this topic is my program that I would like to study restrict or not you can find this information very easily on the web page of each program so if you go to our web
Page I will send you link afterwards and if you find uh a program of your choice you will find the name of the program of course uh the duration of the program for bachelor program it’s uh seventh semester and after that you will find information which type of program is it
It will be written restricted admission nonrestricted admission or admission with assessment test so there are three options you have to you just have to check on the web page of each program uh which one is yours the next program are there any dual study programs dual study programs
Are for example a very good choice for for um uh for students who are already working or who would like to uh do it who would like to do both at the same time studying and working at the same time so yes we do also have many dual study programs and
Also as by the previous question once you are on the particular web page of uh the program that you’re interested in you will find the information that I already mentioned about name and duration and type of the program and you will also find information there whether
A program is a dual study program or not it has to be uh deferred dual study programs um has to be deferred from working as a student so you can each student can work you can work a particular amount of hours in week and have a student job that’s one thing and
The other the second thing would be studying in a dual program where you parallely have to study and work so in a dual study program it would be obligatory um to work during your study but if you decide to um work uh as a student uh because you want to earn
Extra money that would be your choice in a regular study program which is not dual program so for example also at International office we have some students that are studying regular programs but they are coming a couple of uh hours uh per week to us because they have to they uh want to
Earn additional money the next uh question is necessary to have a certificate of language certificate or is an interview sufficient you definitely have to have a German language certificate um and it’s obligatory so interview is not enough as soon as I finish with answering your questions we still have 15
Minutes a maximum I will send you a link in the chat with uh the list where you can find uh which German level is necessary for which program so bear that in mind that you need German language certificate is it necessary to have certain bachelor’s degree to enter a
Certain master program at your University yes um it’s in all cases I would say or in most of the cases necessary for example if you want to do a master in architecture you have to have a bachelor in architecture next question does your University have something like summer specialized language preparation courses for
International students um at this moment uh we do not have um those kind of preparation language preparation course es but it’s very possible that it can happen in the next year or the year afterwards that’s uh such um uh such thing such courses will be offered at our University that
We are working on it but at this moment we do not have any I would like to know about student colag what documents are required and grades earn in it are taken into account when entering the University Unity so um Stan colleag means that you cannot enter um one of German universities of
Technical technical universities of applied sciences directly instead you have to take a year of Preparatory courses called studient colleague so um if you finish a studient colleague you will enter the university uh it takes one year after that you uh have to pass a test in student colleague it’s divided a couple
Of fields and if you pass it I would say you have very good chances U to get accepted it’s uh after that it’s very important to clear this for which type of program are you uh applying if you are applying for NC study program with a restrict
Admission or you apply for the program with nonrestricted admission or with for the program with assessment test so I would say for restricted programs there you will need the highest grade do I need to complete elf grades in Ukraine or I can enroll with you with you after n9th grade
I just had to think shortly about the question but yes you need to finish at least elf crates in Ukraine how much does it cost to live in alburg for a month uh we already had uh this topic but I would say between 700 and 900 euros per month is an average amount
Next question how much money do you need to have in your account to open a student visit to Germany and is it necessary to have one under paragraph 24 so this is very specific uh question um and I would we do not have today time to go to details
But this information how much money do you need to uh get the student visa this this kind of information it is best uh to check on um a web page of German Embassy in your home country so um for all of you coming from Ukraine Ukraine and if you are
Currently in Ukraine please check the information on the web page of a German Embassy in Ukraine what are the language requirements is it level B2 or German of German or C1 it depends on the program but um yes you in most cases for most Bachelor programs you have to have B1 or
C one so first choose a program or um uh programs that you are interested in and check specifically for these programs which German language uh level is needed because the level is not the same for all of the programs um I mentioned uh the program bachelor program International Information Systems at the
Faculty of um computer science for this Pro program for example you need German level um A2 so everything is possible uh you just have to check it um on the web page okay uh maybe some of you are all thinking about last questions but I
Think I answered the most of them um I would just like to share a couple of links in chat with you for example I’m sharing right now the list uh where you can find which uh level of German language and which uh language certificates can be accepted at our
