550 Kilometer Bike Ride Along the Croatian Coast to Slovenia

On the last two days of the trip, we rode along the Croatian coast to Slovenia, all in all 550 kilometers. We also stopped both days to go for a cold October swim in the Adriatic Sea. With that, we also finished the 8-day trip around Bosnia, Montenegro, and Croatia. We didn’t have any trouble with the motorbikes and the weather was perfect every day of the journey, couldn’t ask for anything else really.

22 degrees warm water and I think it’s around 26 here. Bikes are up there perfectly. Really nice public beach. Alright. Here we go. Day number, I think it’s seven. Leaving our hotel. Here directly by the beach in Dervinik. Now we are continuing, as I said in the last video already, towards Slovenia.

Probably won’t, definitely won’t reach it today yet. But we will ride along the coast. Probably gonna ride to Makarska, stop somewhere on the beach. And then we’ll take the highway for a little bit so we get to the sea, to the main part where the road is almost

Always by the sea, along the sea. So we reach it a little bit faster because I think normally it’s five hours, five and a half hours and now as you can see it’s only three hours if we use the highway as well. Or I don’t know if it even is a highway.

It goes a lot faster. Don’t know if it’s really a highway to be honest. We’ll see. So, yeah. Should be a nice day. 29 degrees. Very, very hot. I’m already sweating. Let’s see how today goes. Phew. But beautiful surroundings here as well. All along the coast really. A dream to ride. Okay.

Let’s go. All right, guys. We stopped here for a few minutes. We ate something small in that restaurant there. 30 minutes by the highway. Now we have another 50 minutes to go. Phew. Quite exhausting. Quite exhausting. Okay. Something flew here under my… Here. In my… In my jacket here on the highway.

I don’t know what it was. I think I… I felt it crawling around my hand or my arm here. But now that I removed my jacket there in the restaurant, I didn’t see anything. I don’t know. Maybe I just imagined it. Let’s countinue now. Yeah, it’s quite exhausting riding on the highway.

The wind. And also the wind noise is quite annoying. When you go faster than, let’s say, 100 or so. Okay, they’re behind. So, yeah, now we passed Split already. And we’re on our way to Rijeka. And to the first… To the next beaches, I think 50 minutes. One hour. One hour.

All right, guys. We’ll stop for some gas. For my mother and me. What is this? Nope. Wrong one. Oops, I didn’t even read here. It’s for trucks. Okay, let’s continue. Another 45 minutes. To the sea. All right, so, we’ve now the toll. Toll for the highway. Five euros from Split to Zadar.

For motorcycles, probably the fee. Okay, let’s see what the road along the coast is here… What’s it like to ride here. I think this is good here. Public beach. For a quick stop. Okay, I’m just going to leave it here and that’s it. Perfect. Paklenica. National Park Paklenica is here somewhere.

It was a nice opportunity to fly the drone a little bit again for the second time on this trip. Okay, here we go had a nice swim pretty cold swim to be honest but yeah. Very nice spot for watching the sunset So I didn’t book any accommodation today.

We’ll probably just stop somewhere when it gets dark because we want to make as many kilometers right now as possible and so we don’t have to ride that much tomorrow. So we can enjoy the day tomorrow a little bit and um… Yeah, just uh maybe take a swim or whatever.

Because we still have quite some riding to do before we get home. Definitely four or five hours. Okay, let’s see now how far we’ll come today. It’s been a pretty long day already. This is it, our little apartments. Day 8 Thank you for everything. Goodbye. Okay, here we go. Leaving the apartments.

For a quick stop and maybe even a swim if you’re in the summer. Alright, so now we’re continuing. To home is around 4 hours.

Quite a long way still. 250 kilometers. We’re gonna ride now along the sea for a little bit and then also on the highway. And yeah, should be a nice day of riding. 25, 26 degrees. It should be the maximum, so… Looking forward to the last day of the trip. Day… 8.

Today is day 8. So yeah, let’s go! Alright, here we are in Crikvenica I think it’s called the town. And we’re gonna park or stop here on a public beach. To cool off a little bit. It’s pretty warm today. Alright guys, we stopped here in Crikvenica In the town a bit…

It’s still a bit of a ride to Rijeka. And then we have 2 hours to home. So, yeah, we’re gonna stop here now for a little swim. It’s pretty hot today. I’m already sweating. So, let’s cool off a bit for a couple of hours probably. And then we’ll do a final stretch.

Perfect little spot for swimming. Perfect. There was a guy from Serbia, older gentleman, who told us that people who had accidents, car accidents, who have injured their legs or arms or come here, probably have some kind of a clinic or something. Or rehabilitation. Okay, back again on the bikes.

For exiting the country. All right so now I have two bars left and we’ll be in Slovenia pretty soon I can already see on Google Maps. Okay, here we are at the border. First time I’m on this border at least if I can remember. Free passage. Here we go.

Very nice, now you just have to go through and you’re good since Croatia is in the Schengen area as well. On this side as well. Perfecto. Now we have the normal road here. No highway. At least for a while. Okay, nice. So now we have to find a gas station soon

Okay, huh. Here we are finally from the highway. Oh, and that was it for the trip. It’s already dark and it was… It was pretty cold now on the highway. Eight days of riding is behind us. Yeah, now the last part here in Croatia was now this last day was pretty windy

Riding in pretty windy conditions so yeah, it was quite hard at times but yeah all in all I would call this trip a success. We saw many new things, new places nature and all of that, great roads which I didn’t expect in Bosnia for example. They really had some great roads which

Were at least as good as ours here so this was really amazing and yeah it was a nice family trip. What did I want to say? Yeah, eight days we rode… So now I have nearly 11000 miles… 11000 kilometers on the clock. When I started I think I had around 8900

8800 something like that so definitely more than 2000 kilometers 2100, 2200. So definitely the most the longest trip so far for me and for my parents as well for my family so yea. I think it was just enough, not too much. Not too much, too hard just enough I think

With all the things we went to see and yeah I think it was a nice… We also weren’t that fast so we rode at a slower tempo so yeah I think we did pretty well perfectly to the day perfect. We planned to go for eight days and yeah

We returned at what’s now, 7 PM 7:30. So, perfect. So for me right now this is October this is the 6th of October so I don’t know how much I will ride this year how much more. We will see. You will see the videos if you see any if not then
