I think as a team you really want to be there as a yeah United team that uh has fun on bikes uh but goes to the Limit and pushes themselves one on the% but on a fun Way it’s not a usable to uh have a wakeup call at 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning we try to pack and arrange the bikes and get all the nutrition and all the stuff we need already in place the evening before so you can sleep yes still quite

Well so there are a lot of things I I check on my bike before a race it starts with the the right gear setup um and of course classifi makes it a lot easier to uh yeah to be prepared for uh all kind of circumstances the thing we also

Really uh invest time in is the tire pressure so we calculate this the day before and then we we put at the right pressure and what you always have to check is bring your spare parts enough co2’s enough uh dino plugs if you are there you’re all by yourself there are

No Cars so just um just be prepared for everything it’s funny back in the day we just like it was just riding we just would use like these clapped out you know Cross Bikes and try to put the biggest cassette on them that we could and like

Run the biggest tires would fit in the frame but I mean we made big cross tires the biggest tire was like a 35 um you know with tubes so you’re getting Flats all the time it’s gone from being like this thing you did on like sort of a

Franken bike to like this very profitable incredibly popular um yeah kind of genre of cycling yeah I think the biggest difference is probably going to be just like it’s the same as road racing in the sense that it’s like everything’s smaller gravel roads in the US are made

For logging trucks you know as like where I come from and a logging truck is freaking massive here it’s like it’s still you know so it’s that fighting for position and also it’s in Belgium for sure flatter than what we would do at home so you’re going to get crazy speeds

And then because it’s popular now you also have the fastest cyclist on the planet doing it yeah speed positioning and just like numbers at the front end are just like a few of the things to contest with it’s a bit different than North America to say the [Applause] least Down being at a gravel race like in L last year uh was really fun and uh it’s a really open atmosphere you have the the service park there where where everybody just hangs out and uh has a a Pac cook or a beer or a waffle um it’s a much

More relaxed atmosphere as uh we have in Pro Racing so it’s not only about getting there doing the race and got get out as fast as possible but there are some kind of After parties uh it’s like um it’s a big community and that’s the the fun stuff about grael

Racing 24 we will be back we will be with a bigger team uh three four people and yeah my dream is uh of course to to win Unbound I think that is the world championship or the wallhalla of of Gravel
