A requested video has been to narrate my thought process as I ride my bike through a busy city like Boston. In this video, you’ll see me jump on to the Craigie Bridge, ride down Cambridge Street, holla at a few people, ride down Newbury and then at the end meet a cool friend to join us along the way. I have a bunch of experience riding all these roads and it isn’t easy but if you careful and understand what you are doing, it can be a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy the video.

Hello everyone today I will be commentating my bike ride as I go by sort of my thought process decisions I make in real time I’ve got this video requested a lot and I thought why not do this this is a 360 video scroll around check out me check out what’s going on
And enjoy the ride so we’re going to be talking about how I kind of make decisions in real time I think it’s going to be interesting um right now we are approaching the intersection of I’m actually not sure exactly what street this is but on our left here’s the
Museum of Science we are on museum way um but this is the bridge of the Museum of Science here on our left um we’re going to have to wait here it’s a red light on our side uh might be a second here the bike is closed on our
Right uh but we’re taking the left here it doesn’t matter and we’re going to get on the other side of the road General thing to know when you bike you want to bike with traffic so I want to be on the other side of the road it’s a green light it
Is red for walkers but it’s green light for bikers and well cars so that means it’s green light for bikers um as bikers you can kind of use both the walk inless the light used by cars I kind of use both loud truck to my left all right right here with the
Museum of science which is nice right here CU we have a bike lane uh as we headed into the latter part of our video we will not have a bike lane that’s the thing to keep note of bike Lanes make things very easy but also you can get
Very it could be very bad quickly as you may become less more comfortable you always got to be aware see want to watch for drainage there’s a drain two drainage here this bike lane really shrinks here and there’s rocks and pedals all on the right side here we have to watch out for
That okay still a bike lane and so my goal is to head back to back Bay Area into specifically the University of Northeastern area uh I’d say it’s about 2 miles from here I’m going to ding just so they see we’re good I ding proactively once in a while
For pedestrians mostly walk sign on our right so that means cars are not going to be able to move and you pass through uh some honking behind us should be fine though let see and then we lose bike lane here big potholes on our right we want to watch
Out for that at all costs at all costs these are really bad you jump into these even this small one here if I jump into any of these I’m tipping so I’m really watching the ground here the street needs a repavement UPS up ahead parked the red
Light as well going to cut left in the UPS red light put plenty nothing can watch out for there there’s no it’s not a four-way intersection EV parking want to watch other people pulling in no one’s over here so good heck all right wow State Street Building looking
Very nice okay this is interesting I’m not going to make it I’m actually going to take left here it was a little tight the bike I’m using right now is pretty wide so I just have to be careful about that I’m going to get momentum in front
Of this car yep get on the right side all right this is a hill I’m going to shut the up so I can get up it winds against us as well of course this is bad look at this fit guy just came out of jail or something red light but walk for both
Good all right it’s the worst Hill it’s the whole Trip all right right we want to take it right here on Cambridge Street and then on to Beacon I believe it’s Beacon could be wrong with that now you know what it’s Charles we want to get into Cambridge here take a left with Charles we’ll see I forget exactly which
One it is but it’s up ahead oh this is a perfect time to get a little yell out here look at this guy ready hey you’re not that fast in the bike lane you dumbo there we go there’s a good one right there that’s a little excitement for
That guy he’s slow so skinny that guy by the way Runners jeez man they are skinny wake them up a little bit I woke the pedestrians up a little bit but seriously it’s dangerous you know all right this is really bad here all right we headed towards the end of Cambridge
Here um Charles Street that’s what it is okay cool that’s I thought all right this is a very interesting intersection coming up a lot of moving parts so just want to be wary of that jeez the wind is really hitting me here it’s giving me trouble sheesh okay
Um okay we’re going to want AC cross it’s green all right that was not what I thought was we want to get onto the side where cars are moving forward which is here all right nice and straight ahead is travel Street red light it looks like we can take this
Actually it’s double red here have to stop here though all right green light on our perpendicular have to stop all right 5 seconds left I noticed that from the walk sign yellow taking it right now I headed on the Trel Street Trel street is a pedestrian heavy street
So watching out for um people crossing watch out for that other than that we should be fine this is an example where we can pass through it’s red light but actually pedestrians have the walks on so can actually go through there very very quiet on TR street today
In terms of car traffic my gosh what happened here whenever roads closed or something another example is a red light but Walk On The Pedestrian so I’m going to take it not sure why they do that uh maybe I do understand I don’t know yeah just got to be observant
Pedestrians some of them are don’t see them like see here Um so we want to take a right we’re going to head onto Newberry Street here I’m going to take a left onto this caret they’re all Stu just more space to work with I don’t my goal is to not stop momentum realistically if momentum keep up it’s
Just better for me going to cut into this Lane get into bike lane on the left my goal is to heat momentum at all times but obviously there are some situations where momentum needs to die and that’s where I’ll pull the trigger on the brake no handlebars right now very very
Nice is my favorite type of riding slow down here PL a space to work with we’ll see here this is a yellow I’m going to cut in here yeah that was a preemptive cut was worth it I didn’t know if they were going to cross very very crowded on this street
Here jeez in lington WoW I haven’t seen Arlington like this in a while it’s a Saturday so makes sense very very crowded I’m going to have to cut here in a second but cars are not going to give me any space out all right I’m taking
This all right I’m going to take this too oh let’s just thread the needle here nope almost I almost had that that was was a second behind that was close though I almost threaded that all right Newber should be pretty packed today should see some
Action should see some action here a new barer we should uh uh the interesting thing about new is it’s not a throughway Street no one goes through everyone’s stopping on the street so if there’s cars on the street they’re going to stop on the street you take the street over on Commonwealth if
You want to do a throughway only I do throughways with this cuz I enjoy the freaking fun of it all right so it’s going to get more dense as we go on here have that same shirt of that guy we got a biker we can cross with him big pothole there sheesh
Man they just look at those things and I say one Poole and over one Poole and it’s over seriously ridiculous um it’s red I’m going to it’s green but people are crossing I’m just going to take it it’s green and people are crossing I’ll be a part of that game very nice
Car mum for you buddy it’s going to get tight here we’re going to have to will we able to cut right yeah it’s really going to get tight here yeah no worries all good just taking it slow you got to learn the bike’s diameter kind of thing
I understand how far how big I can make it through things this bike’s a bit wider than most so I take that into consideration a that car is going fast very very open here very nice there’s a Google store open on our right inter um see what we got here I’m going to

Start to get Crowded it’s tight here man just take it slow that’s the name of the game so as long as it’s taking it slow you’re good yeah it’s really crowded up my head I see it yep got to speak so I don’t going to copyrighted here well let’s just talk right here we

Um we got to left here watch behind coming up all good 7 seconds on the walk plenty of time plenty of time plenty of time he has a good biker on our left here he’s good he knows what he’s doing you know what you’re doing brother good

This but maybe it’s helpful I don’t know let stay here maybe I’ve never found out for it though also I never really I never really tried it it’s just been so long I’ve never used it I guess it might be helpful once in a while I feel like most cars play defense

Unless you took the uh the elevator in rugles oh yeah unless or you take the grass Reds P there’s actually a new station you know the new station no I haven’t it’s right at Cory you know Cory it’s the big white building it’s right it’s right there but there’s no parking spots now
I’m visiting uh every blue bike station oh yeah yeah I got like 3% of them I got 40 nice not bad what percent are you at 3% you know it says like I I don’t know I think it’s been like 12 stations or something oh okay that makes sense
