Box fresh Kink Williams frame, brand new Thunderbolts. The rest was carried over from a WTP Trust apart from Colony forks and a Freecoaster.
I bought this frame at the point where I was riding at my best. It had been lockdown forever and I was riding everyday and I got *really good*.
So I decided to treat myself to a new frame and opted for a much shorter back end. I rode it for a few weeks but my ability really tanked on this bike. I found it twitchy as hell but also weirdly unresponsive. Like, it was dull when I needed it to move with me and it was frantic when I just wanted it to feel stable.
I lost money when I sold this because for some reason I decided it was time to quit BMX and get out. I’d got busy with work and had no time for riding, and I was travelling between two cities constantly. It was a drag doing that with a BMX I wasn’t loving. It just felt like time to give it up.
So I’d paid retail prices for the frame and the cranks, and then sold the whole rig at a small loss to an insanely talented Russian street rider who was about 9ft tall 😄. He did more on that bike just testing it outside my gf’s place than I had achieved with it in 3 months.
In hindsight I should have stuck with it made adjustments and ripped off the decals to commit to it, because now I’d really like a white frame again 🤣
It took me about two months from quitting BMX forever to starting my next build.
