Or whatever you just want to send someone a card to say that you’re thinking of them that’s what this is all about it’s got a caress and a kindness about it it’s also got um a little bit of Whimsy as well which will make someone smile raise a little bit of a a
Titter and a giggle and we’ve got some great Carnation characters in this as well well this is care and kindness now since we um did a little Facebook live or Carla did last night teasing this a quarter of the stock has gone that means obviously an awful lot of you have

Actually because you got the hot water bottle you’ve also got of course the bedside cabinet with the light you’ve got the bag of peas how often did your mom us to put that on a bruise or something like that when you’d fallen off your bike uh you’ve then got the cup
And you’ve also uh got the other cup down there as well and next to that you’ve then got your medical you’ve got your um you’ve got your ice bag you’ve got your thermometer you’ve got uh your bed and also you’ve got your what do you call those things that hang down um

To be a collector’s piece obviously it the Carnation mice are collector’s pieces and here he sits amongst all of his little friends as a doctor Diane toddington on Facebook says look like eonia flowers that could be it thank you Dian you’re a fancy old Taz well Nick and the team designed the

Piping hot soup just incredibly cute and Incredibly useful aren’t they it’s got to be tomato chicken really chicken sou what are you feeling under the weather tomato soup for me chicken soup is good for the Sal tomato soup gives me a sore throat doesn’t it yeah then you’ve got your
Sentiments so you’ve got get well soon feel better and speedy recovery perfect yes these are perfect sentiments heal in words this is what we want to say to people isn’t it and you’ve got it all sitting there on a card and sometimes we don’t quite know what to say there’s certain
Circumstances where that can be difficult to find the words that are appropriate if we’ve got a sentiment that covers it that is incredibly useful isn’t it so that’s what these are speedy recovery feel better feel better is a lovely sentiment isn’t it that’s I Pro I think for me probably the most striking

Sun’s Rays going on in the background of that that’s really effective like a very effective grill with that radiating sun behind it that’s another firm favorite for many of you again using slightly different angle using the uh corn flowers or the eanaia whichever you choose uh just filling in that aperture
Beautifully and this is another one not using it necessarily as a grill to put something behind but as a beautiful background I I just really would consider going for that geometric line shape I love that’s so unusual it’s really it’s really really just beautiful isn’t it there’s something about that
Kind that gorgeous s sweep is so pretty really visually strong and if you just want the flowers on their own look at that I love that that’s quite a wild Meadow look isn’t it it is so that’s your geometric card shape but it’s also taken in that initial card shape from

They’re the one thing that we literally will always need right it’s the foundation for what we do the stronger your card shapes are the the more insanely awesome your cards are going to look and that’s always the case with Carnation they always give us this extra ump with our card shapes and they’ve
Done that here are the cutting slits on the slat so they things well it’s so you can bend because it’s got a give in it straight away this panel can then bend through through you could theoretically because I could put my Pokey I’m not going to do it on the boards cuz that’s
Not fair but I could put my Pokey through that little slot or through that which means I could intersperse florals through it if I so chose to but more importantly where you’ve got the little slot line so if we take it to here if I
Want to cut this down I I’ve got the PIP marks this would be considered a pip Mark here and this here so as I’m cutting those slats across to make it the size that I want that’s the most appropriate I’ve got my snipple lines my snip ability is coming in there where I
Can just snip them across I’ve got Matt’s layers and I’ve got a card base and then I’ve got the artwork for this which will be on the Carnation crafts website which is www.c Carnation craft.co and then I’ve got my gorgeous geometrical at this I love it there’s
Something about it it’s very fluid you can see it as it moves it’s very pretty go steady where you put your glue and you’ll be able to get that flow and movement as well which just looks divine you can see it as it just goes through we’ve got Motion in card shapes it’s
Really important if you think about things like clean and simple which has obviously been incredibly popular and for good reason you’ve got the same effect really with this in that you’ve got those aperture lines that you can place into appropriate places or you can build layers and that’s what we see in
This card that we’ve got here this has got layers going down the side and layers going across but that could just as easily be apertures now if I was to take a an elongated aperture from the panel collection and place that through here that would create my panel for my
Big florals as well so you can see that as a team it’s working incredibly well isn’t it each each uh sort of individual element helps uh elements from the other sort of bundle these why these contard checks are so important because it is a combination of everything just looking

Go there and go to free downloads when we click on that it is going to take you to a list of PDFs and usually the collection that is the newest will be at the top so you can see there we’ve got care and kindness you’ve got inserts
That are free and in papers that are free also so please do grab those at the bottom it normally says the Carnation crafts care and kindness original color download that’s everything all in one place so that’s the the easiest one for you to download pop that into your
Basket and check out it is free to do so but please do set up an account because then it’ll remember everything you’ve ordered in the past once you’ve done that you’re going to print that out and it’s 100% or actual size that you want to be printing at as a ru dependent on
Your printer and we do that on Pro print where possible because that’s going to give us the most extraordinary results when we do it Carnation crafts have something called a mirrored vignette and that is where we can have a piece of artwork that has a black line down the
Center which I’m going to show you and from that we can fold that in half and spray glue the inside and cut that out so it will have an image on both the front and the reverse which is lovely to have you don’t have to do that they do
Provide an alternative option which is a single sided vignette which will allow you to just have a white background I will always use the mirrored vignette just so you know so we’ve got your panels here I’m just going to show you a couple of pieces of the artwork then

Business to you at home and of course as a CB maker when you sell your cards at craft fairs or to friends at work or down the road you can tell that story to them unless they’re watching these shows like you are they won’t know that it’s
Nick and his team in Incarnation that do the artwork and normally when you have artwork to to play with and to make cards with you haven’t got a clue where it’s come from but we tell you and the team are there so you’ve got Heritage and like it’s almost like
Um it’s it’s like a seal of approval isn’t it because you know exactly where it’s come from Providence I think because a lot of companies buy stock imagery um so which is fine that’s that’s the normal process but if you buy stock imagery and say you typed
In mouse for instance and stock imagy of you know sort of whimsical M mice come in if I do that four times it’s going to be from different artists and so that that you don’t necessarily get the same flow that you get when you get Carnation
Because it’s all done by the same team so the stylistic qualities that we get through Carnation are always there and that’s really important it changes the way that we craft that we produce cars cards and it changes the outcome of them and that’s why Carnation cards always stand above everybody else’s that
Thematic run through of nx’s stylist work and the team stylist work that all comes through and it shines doesn’t it we know it so once I’ve got this I need to then work out how to cut it it’s very very simple I’ve got a black line that
Runs down the center of this page I’m going to take the the page and I need to fold it on the black line I never fold it in the center to make that easier for myself I can use that black line as a little guide just to create a tiny
Little snip line on either side of it and what that’s going to do is obviously cut those fibers in that paper so that the paper is now going to bend to my will so now that I know that I know that I’m going to get it onto that black line
And I know that it’s going to be perfect every time so I can take that fold it and now I need to put some kind of adion on the inside of it to hold it together if I don’t it will still come out as one full vignette no problem there however
If I start to use a ball tool on it the two will separate now that means I get two for one in my cutting values uh and they’ll be reflections of each other but for my purposes I want it to be a mirrored vignette I’m going to use a
Little bit of uh spray ad adhesive here but you can also use a glue stick I do warn everyone to try and stay away from using PVA in that process because as I’ve said before adding water to paper never a good so PVA is too wet to use
But a spray or a glue stick will be fine yeah because it doesn’t have that same because obviously PVA has a water content so it makes it wavy hi to Josie Parker as well on Facebook sending good wishes on this wonderful crafty morning thank you Carla and Dave for a wonderful

Tidy for that very reason because that’s an extra shim for me and it’s just going to make matters easier I also know that my strongest point in my cutting mat this point is going to be my central panel I’m still not guaranteeing it’s
Going to cut it but we can try uh and so I can place this on top now as you can see that’s it’s it doesn’t fit okay so if you’re brand new to Carnation you get home and you’re like well that what what just turn it it’s a mirrored reflection
So that’s all you need to do and it will sit perfectly place that down get some adhesive tape that is low Tac and all I’m going to do is ensure that that is in place remember my paper is on the inside my D is on the outside once I’ve

Cut tidy cut tidy is my new favorite thing I never knew what it did for ages but now it just cleans your diet makes life so much easier and gives you a more affected cut I’ve got faith have you got faith I haven’t cuz I was having extraordinary
Problems with it the other day if it hasn’t cut I’m not worried about it it’s my machine it’s not the the dies or the vignettes but just to show you if I then remove this what should happen is as I remove this you will get
A beautiful cut see of the Dy and faith and we’re just going to poke out all the excess and you have got this beautiful look at that gorgeous gorgeous die cut now when we talk about mirrored vignettes you’re obviously going to weed that through when we talk about mirrored
Vignettes what we’re looking at here is the fact that image wise let me just remove this so you’re get in a really good view of this because it’s such an important thing that artwork which is extraordinary I can now turn it over and the magic is on both sides it’s
Important for a number of reasons first of all it we get double the value which is absolutely brilliant thank you very much I’m from Yorkshire that’s important to me and I am always grateful for that more importantly than that on a composition level I now have two options
With one D normally when you buy a die from a different company you’ll only have one option with it it can only go one way with Carnation we just doubled that and that is incredibly useful uh and this is why Carnation is such a powerful company right let’s have a look
At putting a card together just showing you some of the cards with what you’ve just cut out there actually aren’t they gorgeous stunning aren’t they really really thin and streamlined to using one of those card shapes as a background then to using the fence panel or the ladder could be either
Or so just look at that absolutely incredible every single um card tells a story and of course still using what Carla just cut out there but using it with lots of other florals and then another example of how that die looks how spectacular is that
That’s what you can do when you got the dies you’ve got the quality of the artwork and you’ve got the card blanks the well you’ve got no restrictions you can just go for it and enjoy the results that you get from it right to make a
Card so let’s have a look at making a card I’m going to use one of the gometric card shape so I’m using the the the obvious geometric one and I’m going to make a base card from it so I have scored a half an inch down the side of
That and I’ve placed some red liner tape on it use a pokey toil to remove the back in from the red liner I always use red liner because it seems to be the strongest of all of those adions so I can work it out I’m just going to fold
That back Shuffle the two until they’re exactly where I want it I always do it towards my body cuz it’s easier I’m right-handed so I can then place that down and push okay and that’s going to give me a beautiful tent base for my card it also means that I can should I
Wish have it either way so you’re going to get very different viewings depending which way you put it it’s going to make a different effect really pretty isn’t it love it now we’re using some of these perfect papers here if you’ll notice this one specifically has got a kind of
It denotes Hospital uh colors doesn’t it it’s got that kind of medical feel scrub color it is and Hospital walls and the reason that that color is used and that particular I don’t know about Carnation but certainly in hospitals it’s used because it’s deemed to be the most
Peaceful of all colors and the most calming and so it’s used obviously in that environment now that means it also means that the cards we make are going to have that same visual effect so taking from there I’m just going to bring in a cooler tone so I just want
The border of it for this one I’m using a 3 mil foam tape here so just raising up slightly to create some Shadow play and I’m going to place that just on top best I can I can’t lean over so if mine are a bit skew wiff just
Make sure when you’re at home you’re at you’re you’re leaning now from this I have got that top p I love this yeah I do it’s so pretty there some really tactile about it it’s like you want to play it it’s like strings on guitar is

We’ll keep him for for posterity he’s fine right so I’ve got this sitting here now I’m going to use a little bit of silicon gel glue on here I could use foam tape if I so chose but because I’ve got these fine lines I don’t want it to
Be seen underneath so for this demo I’m just going to use a little bit of pin flare now what that means is I can choose my height by this you know my specified amount of silicon gel glue this for anyone who’s never used it before is pinf flare you can find it on
The the Carnation crafts website it’s a sculpt sculptable sculptable sculp sculpting glue which allows you to choose how you want something to be so I can create a little bit of height to create a little bit of drama and that’s really beautiful isn’t it because you start to see that panel coming through
Below very very pretty now I want to just look very quickly at the panel itself because I am absolutely smitten you just saw us cut it and here it is ready to go into demo very very sweet very beautiful now there’s lots of little pieces on here that I can use as
Decapage elements I’m not going to decapage this specifically because I want to add things on the top I want this to be my eyeline my drama so I’m going to keep it flat little amounts of wet glue just Place through don’t need much place that Aon there we’ve got a
Card that’s the power of carnation because I’m going to use a sentiment I’m going to this isn’t the end of the demo but if I wanted it to be that is a stunning card and you can see with minimal effort that we get to achieve that with Carnation in a way
That we cannot achieve with other card makers or card suppliers because the detail is in the artwork that’s such a strong piece however I do want to add in some little characters here because why would we not uh so I’ve got some pieces of French lavender that I’m going to use

Down and push that’s going to give me my card base that never really changes for me I’m then going to use some of those Dotty perfect papers and they’re just Exquisite they’re so beautiful that piece of texture that just comes behind you can’t really see the dots from a
Distance when you get closely you can uh it’s a very subtle P pattern the dots and the stripes but they really are beautiful to work with so I’m going to place these on here and I’m going to push and I’m going to pull and that gives me my alignment now I’m going to

Collection on my list for when I return in May May that’s a cruise that’s a beautiful H must be a five six month Cruise woo I do that someone’s doing well and I place that down push and Pull and that’s going to give me my layer with my gorgeous backing papers so
Tonally I’ve used the green on green and I’ve just plac together you can see how well they match because it’s all been color aligned for us cooling that down now just with a smaller piece on that inside of white and this is a card stock it’s carnations 350 GSM smooth card
Which I also use for all of my back my base cards as well just cuz it’s really strong try and make sure to use strong card for your base plates 350 is perfect effect when we’re working with Carnation we add weight so you want to make sure
That that has been taken care of I’m going to bring my panels in and I’m using two both of them with height so I’m creating that midsection and I’ve creating a frame at either side I want the top flowers to overhang slightly so I’ve made my my mat here smaller than
The others that’ll allow that to carry over at the top to create Shadow and play form so once I’ve got that I can take some adhesive I’m using the wet glue again small amounts remember I can’t put it on the top flower cuz I know that overhangs at the top so I’m
Just going to make sure I’ve secured it with small amounts of glue elsewhere edge to edge so I’ve got my ground and device and make sure that adion has secured same again on the other side small amounts and this is a super quick easy card for when we’ve got to make a card
For on the go if we’re in a rush if we want to make a nice get well uh but we don’t have a huge amount of time this is going to be one of your go-to it’s easy it’s nice easy card making and that’s always a bonus now here is my fence post
Now I have cut mine down slightly using those uh gate posts and it’s super super easy to do once you’ve got them let me just see if I’ve got a spare one in here and if I have I’ll cut it if not I will make sure I do in the next
One can’t find the edge of my bag Dave there it is it sounds like I’m eating crisps doesn’t it I promise you I’m not right so where I’ve got this it’s really important to note with this we have got little snipple lines so if I take that
You can see it just folds straight where it is can you see where that is because we’ve got little two little cut lines those fibers makes a lot easier to do that it does and so what that means is I can cut wherever I choose because those
Little Pip lines are going to give me that break that little snip point and I can do that all the way through which means your ladder is probably one of your most versatile card shapes ever right because we can cut it exactly the shape we want for exactly what we want
Depending we can also fold and bend it so one other thing that you could do with this is if you said if I hadn’t just cut it you could theoretically add two together and Dome it so that’s another option for you as well so one with your snip so you’ve got
Got your base to glue out with and you’ve got your support structure and then one that is domed upon the top of that you can make that into like a pen for the animals if you wanted it absolutely take yourself to rural charm take yourself to perfect pastures you’ve
Now created that picket fence for them as well so I hope that helped all of you visually I’ve got mine on a 5 mil foam tape I’m going to take away the two end panels I’m not worried about the middle ones they’re not being displayed not a
Problem to me at all so I’m going to place that on top and I’ve created a garden scene really easy done nothing absolutely nothing at all Extraordinary there from there I’ve got my wi Robin with his little sling here now I need to ground him out if I
Don’t raise him on the same hype foam tape it’s going to look obscure it won’t look like he’s standing on it so I’ve used the same foam tape on the back of him that’s going to allow him to sit at the same height as my fence and I’m just
Going to place he can sit around about here just there so he’s sitting super sweet right we haven’t done anything with any complexity whatsoever I’ve now just cut out a rectangle so again no complexity here I can take this and do you have artwork for the words as well different colored artwork
For no that’s one of my perfect papers so I matched my perfect paper but I did it with the stripes instead of the dots so I’m bringing all of my perfect papers together all three texture lines so block color dots and stripes and using them all to Showcase that color point
And then I’ve used the backing papers as well as the perfect papers so just making sure that I’ve got enough adhesion on there and making sure I try and stick this straight obviously you guys won’t be rushing when you do this so you’ll have more time now these
Do come with their own matte layers I like it when I’m trying to do a panel don’t feel like you’re stuck with the matte layers and don’t feel like you shouldn’t be using them it’s whatever is correct for you in the in the make that you’re making now I’m going to take this
In order to stick it down I am going to use a little bit of wet glue I can see that this fits my panels exactly so I know that I need the wet glue or should I say the Silicon gel glue to be on those panels so one there and one here
And I’m going to put some in the mid sections too that’s going to let the whole thing raise up so I’ll get some more Shadow from this piece as well and we have created a very simple very pretty lovely get well soon card in literally no time at all gorgeous absolutely
