Let me start by saying this will be my first serious bike purchase. I’m planing on doing around 50/50 road / gravel riding. My budget is 2.5-3k and I’m planing on buying a second set of road tires if I feel the need to later down the road. My main sport is running so I’m pretty inexperienced with bikeparts etc. Basically looking for a little bit of an allrounder bike where I can do a little bit of everything. Drive some light gravel and not be too slow on the road and possibely some weekend bikepacking. I’m planing on doing some longer rides up to 100km a day.
I’ve narrowed the choice down to these two:
Canyon Grail CF SL7

I’m leaning more towards the Grail.
From my limited understanding I’ve gathered that the Grail would be the smarter decision for my usage with it’s 2x drivetrain and more “aero” geometry I will be faster on the road and since I’m not planing on doing any singletrack it would do the job just fine. I’m only debating on the getting the Grizl because of the electronical shifting (1by) and since it’s advertised as the more adventure bike by canyon I guess it would be better suited for bikepacking
So my question are:
1. Is the the SRAM Apex 1by 12speed better and more comfortable compared to the the mechanical 2x 12speed which from my understanding would be faster on the road?
2. How much better is the Grizl for bikepacking than the Grail? Bkepacking is not the number one priority but I would want it to be possible.
