When they met at the Oak Tree Arena back in May it was a close contest between two evenly matched sides tipped for the playoffs the racing was fast and entertaining with a big crowd playing their part on a rare Sunny evening Somerset made Home Advantage count in

Slipped up a little bit last time out Nigel a week ago Wednesday they uh Lo against skunthorp so I imagine they’re really tightening their belt up right now trying to turn that performance around that hurt them a lot the management criticized the ab switch side and this is how it affects the league
Table so a defeat at home to scumthorp last Wednesday as Sam referred to they’re in eighth place it’s all about the top six in the Premier League top four in the elite League of course but Premier League top six Somerset currently in fourth place ipswitch just
Outside but if they can get three League points here tonight that will propel them into the top six it should be said as well that White House face scunthorp and a rearranged fixture here tonight as well but both sides with huge Ambitions to get into the top six yeah there’s

Number two for Somerset tonight and going at number three is Sam Masters he’s highly rated by Elite League bosses as a real star of the future James R former Belleview and swinder and workington man rides at number four clouse missing he has been at number one for Somerset rides at number five
Tonight he’s a top Premier League performer and the two reserves two talented young Brits Kyle Newman rides at number six for the rebels and Tom Perry in only his third season as a Speedway Rider he rides at number seven but Jason Doyle Sam is a man to watch
Classy performer in both the premier and the elite League yeah you’ve touched on the Management’s ambition to rely on somebody of this guy’s experience he’s actually helped up pool Pirates win their 2011 campaign and I’m sure when it comes down to the point in of business time tonight you know they’ll be relying

Be confident we’ll go from there there’s a bit of a shakeup in right order how’s that going to help things it’s just to try and find the pairings that match a little bit better you know we as I said we’ we’ve just been inconsistent and you know if uh changing the writing order

To do better and take advantage of uh having a home track Advantage if there is any Jason Doyle on the outside and white HC is going to try to beat him into the first Corner number one Premier League Speedway in witches against the little bit movement a little bit of

First race of the night the win is going to go to that man Jason Doyle in the wi helmet color for the somerset Rebels but the witches are able to pack the minor placings there as I said it looked as though it was going to be a dream start
For Somerset but uh the situation changed and the witches were able to Peg it back and it’s an even spread in the first race of the night Jason Doyle superb great ride from him from start to finish confirmation the result of heat W Jason Doyle the winner Morton R was
Second Lee Lam third Alex Davis trailed him last there and the first race ends IP switch 3 Somerset three well I switch knew how important it was to get in that first Cur but it was Jason D from the outside in a white helmet color that did
The business came off turn two and from that point on never really looked back the rest of the boys behind him had to Stir It Up a little bit look at lant him in the red helmet color squeezed out by the rebel straight away Alex Davis on the inside there couldn’t keep that
Position for the whole four laps messed up a little bit but here’s Duan on the outside going into turns uh three and four as Malex made that little bit of a mistake and uh basically duelan then just uh took his partner yep so Lee Lam there gets the better of Alex Davis in
Heat number one let’s get some reaction with Charlie yeah got Jason out here was just saying how how warm it is Jason a fantastic start for you talk us through it because there seems to be a bit of movement yeah um the track’s a bit patchy it’s some when you come in the
Corner it’s a bit so bit slimy at the moment and then it’s a bit of bit of um dirt out there so think it’s got to make some tonight but yeah the boys need to just be on form what about that first corner cuz you literally just went out
On your own yeah I made a good start from four had one little fresh patch but I could get off and yeah had a good start and what can you tell the rest of the team coming here tonight well they’ve been here enough so they know
What they’re doing but but uh yeah they just need to win their first one and just make good starts I think everyone from 1 to seven deep switch a good team so we just need to go up above them do you think there’s almost a a favorite
Pressure tag on Somerset Rebels at the moment yeah that’s what I said to the boys before on track walk we um we’ve had this tag that we’re going to win it this year and it’s not happening for us we’re not winning the meetings what we’re meant to be doing and we’re

Blue Sam the reserves race Heat number two can quite often be absolutely V in a close contest well there’s no doubt about it this is um this is pretty key these guys will meet again I think in heat um eight they kind of get another
Chance to go out there or some of them do but at the moment this first race for a guy like Cameron you saying coming off an injury you know he’s got to it’s pretty difficult from gate four and he’s going to have some inspiration from that
First race seeing uh Jason Doyle do the business from there if he can just get in the first corner and get clear he’ll be all right eight number two it is Big Race coming up the take drows very very quickly there it’s a super start to here
From mat Rosario Cameron HS is going to try and join him in blue up the inside here in white is Kyle Newman super ride from Kyle Newman in white he has the lead his teammate and partner Perry is at the back it’s another three allers things stand at the moment the lead is

Although it was on the pace but it’s a three all and after two Heats it’s level six points a piece here yeah you thinking mattz was going to get there first cuz it was all about uh making that start he just come in there just stayed in the middle of the racetrack
Left the door open for Kyle at the inside they’re going into turn three and as they got there here’s another view of it just watch what’s going on there Cameron heaps is trying to get over if he could just show his colors coming off in turn two he might have had a chance
For Matts to help him and keep it tight but he left that door open and Kyle took no Second Chances there went in there straight away held it for the whole four laps got a little bit out of shape in the last corner but uh he got there at

While you’re getting your helmet off yeah it’s always good when your teammate goes out gives you more confidence and uh I just saw a red went on the track and what he was doing and we just thought of I’ll tell you in a minute when I get me helmet off well while you
Get helmet off I’ll ask see another question is it a bit tight jario was all over the back of you how did you manage to keep him off you well just new just treas he he loves going around the outside so you just got to coming out
The b I knew there’s always bit of grip right on the insides coming out the corners here um so if I could just sort of shoot that and then just go to the to the fence on the straights and you sort of block is run run off you kill his
Momentum and then uh I knew he’s a bit quicker than me but I was comfortable on the line I was on and uh it was just about getting a smooth ride and just getting the four laps in the win under me belt oh well done you got your helmet off now so thank

Kevin Duan the skipper of the witches didn’t score on Wednesday against scunthorp here he goes off the inside in Blue Sam Masters goes off gate number two in white for suers set Dakota north gate three in red for the witches and James Wright goes off the outside in
Yellow here for the somerset Rebels two Heats gone it’s deadlock six points a piece Sam Masters though we’ve seen him Sam we know what a fine Talent he is oh yeah definitely he knows had to attack the racetrack too and um you know the track doesn’t look too bad out there I
Think it’s going to take a couple more Heats and maybe a Dr drag to be able to get it to settle down for them but uh it’s real important Nigel to get out of that start if you can and Sam Masters used to uh doing a bit winners yeah
Those two guys right there are going to be battling to get into that first corner you can tell how seriously are Sam Masters is uh no slouch he’s just right on the inside of their Dakota North you know they’re both Australians Els their elbows were touching there now they’re apart absolutely Heat number
Three a bit of rivalry between the young Australians here in the boxall stadium bit of movement at the start of well there Dan Holts Let It Go and it’s a superar from the man in blue Kevin Dulan but now here come the man in white s

Whatsoever he needs to be doing that a little bit wide just got to be careful out there if you go too hard you’ll make that mistake but he’s looking pretty darn good looks as though Dakota North had lost it completely there but he managed to get it back under control as
He drifted wide into the last lap we go Dakota North has that lead second place in white is Sam Masters third in blue is Kevin dlan looks like it’s going to be the witches who are going to take the lead for the first time in the meeting
Here it’s Dakota North in red a super right from him all the hard work early on after a very close start because it was Kevin Duan who made the best start there of the witch’s Duo but it was Dakota North who came around the outside
And that was a super win for him and the witches open up a very narrow lead after three Heats of this Premier League Showdown it’s a win for Dakota North Second Place there was Sam Masters for the rebels Kevin dlan third for the witches and James Wright trailed in last
But all the hard work in this one done by Dakota North in the early stages in red yeah think the gamesman ship started right at that start there because it was all a matter of Dakota North wanted his little spot Sam Masters wanted his little spot as they got in the co of
Into the first corner it was Duan that was actually in Sam Masters way there but Sam Masters turned back up the inside Duan just slips off the line a little bit too much up with his partner toota nor but uh it was all about uh getting to that turn three when the race
Really started going the guys are just struggling a little bit in the back there you can just see there how uh how James right is is finding it hard with the racetrack but you know it’s going to come good I’m sure once they get that drag reaction comes from Charlie I got
Doota with me Dakota talk us through that start because she came out of nowhere yeah I didn’t make the best jump but it kind of uh got it to work towards end and got over Sam and then it got a bit tight coming into the next corner
But I managed to get over Sam and shut the door so I was right you mentioned Sam twice in that any rivalry P chance no I’m good friends with Sam I like beating him he likes beating me but um it’s good it’s a good competition how important was it that you put the
Witches back in front now yeah well we need some race wins we haven’t we’ve been struggling the last month so it was good to get a win for myself and for the team so shows we can do it well thank you very much brother thank
You up to heat number four here we go with the man in blue Cameron heaps who we’ve already seen in Heat number two Rowan Tate is the rider in red looking forward to seeing him here in Heat number four Ryder with uh Great Expectations this man in white is klous
Vissing and samla vissing has got plenty of experience and we know what a classy Premier League performer he is yeah there’s no doubt about it he’s been been amongst some of the fastest riders in the world and some of his other outings with other teams but he’s here tonight
And uh if he can just attack this racetrack from the outside he could possibly help Somerset Rebels uh catch back up they’re only down by two points and uh at this stage in the meeting you want to make a little bit tired if you can heat four let’s take a look at the

The tail this thing will give it everything s yeah Rowan Tung very very aggressive going into turn three it’s almost looked like he was going to overshoot the corner but he just leaned his bike down and look how he’s going in there nice and steady if he can just
Follow his rider through there Cameron Heath is doing a good job just staying on there tongate just can’t over cook CU B is very close yeah it’s Cameron heaps we said at the start of the show that he is a man to watch here tonight and the
Man in red Rowan Tungate goes wide but a team riding needed here going into the last race bissing hasn’t really been able to close the gap like we thought he might do Tom Perry’s training in the back and down the back straight it looks like the witches are going to hit a big
51 here Ving can’t make an impression and it’s going to be the witches who open up a six-point lead what a ride from Rowan Tate and Cameron heaps and the if switch witches get a big 5-1 for the first time tonight and they open up a six-point Advantage after four Heats
What a way to bounce back after the disappointment of their defeat by scunthorp here on Wednesday they quite clearly have had a dressing down from the team manager Pete Simmons they’re fired up they’re determined and that was an impressive 51 for the ipswitch witches Rowan Tungate the winner camon
Heaps was second clouse missing was third with Tom Perry at the back it’s a 5-1 and it’s switch 15 Somerset 9 four races gone now yeah Cameron he’s chance to come off that inside his first race he came from gate for but he’s up the inside Rowan tongate makes a good start
But he’s dragged out to the outside right in the Deep step and coming into turn three you can just see him going in here commits himself to that outside but heaps is on the inside there’s rowing tongate in the red up in The High Line heaps looks for him which is good
Cameron looking that’s pretty darn good for a young guy to go out there and be able to look for your Rider and follow him through and and they kept uh Cloud missing behind them the whole way around and as you said to bring Five Points home to the home
Side yeah good ride then from The Witches Duo who lead here now by 15 points to nine and no better way to respond Sam after the dressing down that they’ve had from the management after that defeat last Wednesday Five Points very well needed in tonight’s competition they’re going have to carry
That on for the remainder of the night and the fans will be really happy Somerset though will be a little bit disappointed with the start that they’ve made they’ll be desperate to bounce back and they’ve got their big number one Jason Doyle out in the next race join us

Him and on the outside he’s got Kevin Duan so he’s got his own little battle other than to worry about his partner coming through through quite a bit of rain coming down now here at the fox hall Stadium which has taken us all by surprise because it was a beautiful day

Were on a f 51 but it has to be said this rain is now heavy rain and this is a problem for the Riders it is absolutely pouring down here we didn’t expect this we’ve had a good weather forecast all day but it’s uh pouring down here now at the Foxhall Raceway
Here’s the result of heat five it’s a win for Jason Doyle second place went to Kevin Duan who worked hard there third was Alex Davis toota North Bell two to I switch four to Somerset it’s now ipswitch 17 Somerset 13 a close meeting here as they come out of the start the
Rain just starts to go Jason Doyle’s kind of recognized that he’s probably not in a bad position right there his back wheels just up a little bit in the dirt which is going to give him that little bit of security that the Riders will see as it goes on Dakota North here
Comes in he’s not anywhere in that uh slimy stuff on the top side he’s actually in the slime on the bottom side and it puts him right on the ground nothing there to hold him and uh the way the race carries on right there Alex
Davis does a good job to hold on the third place but it’s all about uh securing that position because it got really difficult out there Nigel right there Kevin Duan did a good job getting into second place securing that two points will help him but uh it was a

Mainly it’s real real slippery coming in but if you get out in the dirt and just keep going around where it’s a bit more grippy you can you can ride it but when it’s running raining like this there’s no chance what’s the approach from your team because you went you were equal the
First couple of Heats and you got your wins there and then went behind by quite a way yeah I don’t know what the boys are doing I think as soon as they have a bad race they heads are down straight away so if they can get get over that

Come from it is astonishing the forecast was for good weather throughout the course of the evening when we arrived here mid-afternoon today it was a nice sunny afternoon nice and warm but the rain is actually now quite treacherous and the Riders will not go out whilst
The rain is coming down like this Sam it’s visibility the conditions are getting worse as well the track looks a little bit greasy let’s just hope that it stops quickly and we can get on with it absolutely I mean it’s the worst nightmare for a rider when you’re on the
Start line and then it’s starts raining you know you got to complete those four laps Jason did a good job he just described right there that it is a little bit difficult out there while it’s raining there’s there your Envision is very much imped and uh you just can’t
Really uh do any real true racing it’s just about survival so it’s best just to let it go away and it it seems like it’s easing off right now it’s just a a heavy downpour what we had for the last 5 minutes I guess we don’t need it to be
Too much heavier I can tell you that British Speedway this year has suffered over 100 rainoff which has to be a record it has been a shocking run of weather that has decimated the British Speedway season so far one thing we will look forward to of course is Cardiff the
Millennium Stadium in August which has a roof but the uh weather experts are suggesting that the weather could be about to break and we will have a good run yes but tonight here Sam we need this to stop pretty quickly it has eased but we do need it to stop pretty quickly
To to get on with the action tonight absolutely there’s no doubt about that one and I’m sure that if it does ease off a little bit the boys are Keen to get get out there and finish their uh what they got going on here and it it is
Difficult out there Nigel but uh you know the Riders know what their job is some of them are going to be a little bit more experienced than others but it’s you know if they can get the track service a little bit uh smoother you know mix the dirt into it they’ll be
Able to go out there at least ride what was it like at the start you had a look at the track Sam with your Rider’s eye view um what’s the surface like because it has taken a lot of rain over the last few days here a million-dollar question
Really but it looked really good at the beginning whether this uh surface has got a clay base to it and most of the the circuits in uh in Great Britain are exactly the same when it comes to the base just to get a nice firm uh base to be able to put some
Material on top so that clay won’t let the water go through very easily and we’ve already got a greasy lined out there and uh you know it’s it it will make it difficult for the boys only time we’ll tell the Ray has eased off a
Little bit it is getting a little bit it is getting a little bit uh brighter so maybe they might have a chance of getting out there and putting some of the equipment on the racetrack and uh roughen it up a little bit for them well whilst we’re waiting and we keep
Our fingers crossed that the action will resume but as I say we do need this rain to uh clear off pretty quickly uh let’s remind you we have the British final coming up it’s at wolver Hampton and it’s less than a fortnite away now Cardiff is the biggest Speedway event in the

At number 13 has been in fantastic form so far for Birmingham and skunthorp it’s a mouthwatering lineup it sure is I mean you got good guys I mean Craig cook we’ve seen that guy go out there and display some uh tremendous rides in front of us here as Chris Harris is in
There obviously uh but you’re right uh you got some Heavy Hitters and also some guys that are in there trying to get that Ultimate Prize which we know where they’re going well of course we look at the usual Su suspects like Scott Nichols and Chris Harris Ty won they will be up
There amongst the favorites for the British title and of course for a place at Cardiff we know Chris will be at Cardiff anyway but who do you think might emerge from the chasing pack as a surprise Contender well I mean Josh AI I think is the guy that’s currently in
Form you know that guy he’s he’s been been able to uh throw it in with some of the best and getting double figures everywhere he pretty much has been riding um the rest of Danny Daniel King will be another one that will be quite useful on that racetrack it wolver
Hampton is quite tricky as as you know Nigel and I know many times being there but Ben Barker will be throwing in there Simon de’s got experience around wolver Hampton there’s a heap of those guys that can actually go out there and either be spoilers or they’ll be top
Contenders one or the other let’s just emphasize how it works Chris Harris is already a Grand Prix Rider so the highest position Rider on the night apart from Chris Harris in the British final will be going to Cardiff as the wild card for the British Grand Prix to
Give you an example if Chris Harris wins the British title whoever finishes second will have the consolation prize of going to Cardiff as the wild card and the British Grand Prix so plenty to go for and wolver Hampton always provides good racing as well and the British
Final is going to be fast and furious and the national title as well not just the wild card but winning the British title whatever National Title the US title the Swedish title it means so much yeah it’s every one of those riders that are going to be in that competition’s
Dream is to keep that either win it again or go out there and Win It For the First Time and uh you know you could it’s the best thing in the world to be able to go out there and do that next to World Championships but you actually get
The chance to go into uh compete in the grand pris after that which seen how competitive it’s been in the past with Chris and Scott going head-to-head and you know it’s great to have on your CV for sponsors as well to win the national title yeah it’s all about that uh you

That we will be able to continue this meeting five Heats gone a little bit of work going on on the track now but it does look very uh very greasy there now it’s very wet out there Nigel there’s no doubt about it they got the boys will be
Uh struggling a little bit for the first you know let’s say four or five races but if the rain does stay away which I can see some bright clouds in the sky over there that wet on the on the inside there and that that little bit of soft
Material they’re putting on there will at least take three or four races for them to get used to it and to get an outside line once they get an outside line you’ll start seeing guys going straight for it and other guys sticking on the inside the shortest way around
The racetrack and then we’ll see some racing well the way it works for Speedway Riders is that if they don’t race they don’t get paid they don’t earn money and there’s been so many rainoff this season it’s hit the clubs it’s hit the Riders the boys are desperate to get
Out there and catch up with these fixtures aren’t they I don’t think you’ll see these guys shining away with the opportunity to get back out there once they have uh do the track work um there’s Morton out there right now having a look you know the home track
Guys will probably have that little bit slight Advantage it’s still got a little bit of rain coming down but the the tractors are out there doing uh doing their grading and it should mix some of that stuff up but uh give it some time
If we got the time I’m sure if the rain stays away they’ll be able to get back on there I think the most important thing is that we need the rain to go away quickly it’s just returned there’s another shower right now we just keep our fingers crossed that we can get on
With the action because the meetings nicely poised as well as we say that the boys want to get on with the racing and catch up on all these fixtures but by the same time Rider safety is important we can only emphasize that uh the track
Has to be safe the Riders have to be happy that the uh the racing can continue because safety is of Paramount importance in this sport yeah it’s already dangerous enough without having this uh little bit of a dilemma of rain coming down and making a little bit more
Difficult and I’m sure the Riders uh it will all come out in a minute they’ll go out there and they’re kicking the ground right now to see what it’s all about uh the referee possibly is going to be down there talking to them and they’ll
All be making that decision as a as a collective group rather than just one person uh saying we can or can’t fingers crossed that we will be back with the action for Heat number six just to emphasize we have to finish 12 races here to get a guaranteed result 12 Heats

Couple of them to life and uh Rowan certainly shown that he can cope with number five in his first heat and uh you know that’s good to see and how important is it for your side to make sure you do get the home in tonight well it’s very important I mean we we’re
Going okay away from home but you know we need to your bread and butter points are your home points and you know two or three points tonight will will be okay and and it’s something to build on because we’ve had two or three bad ones
At home and uh you know if we can carry on as we are then we’ll get that right and uh we’ll move on up the table you’re in eighth place at the moment at the table would you expect yourself to be in that position well we’ve had a good cup
Run you know and a lot of efforts gone into the cup the knock at up the League Cup we’re in both the semi-finals but uh at the end of the day the top six is where you need to be we’ we’ gone to the playoff system as the elite League have

But that’s the same for the somerset Rebels as well and how difficult is it for a track to cope with all this because it’s had days of rain as well in the in the days leading up to this yeah I’m not the track Creator I don’t really
Know a heck of a lot about that other than I’m a rider and I know how to get out there and turn the throttle on when the conditions are difficult like this the thing that you do is try to keep you probably change the gearing a little bit
To help the wheel spin more without turning the throttle on too much and then you just get around the racetrack and nice and easy and if you just get out that started it helps let’s get down to the pits and here’s Charlie yeah thank you I’ve got Gary who’s looking
After the somerset Rebels tonight Gary what’s your opinion with the Riders there seem to be getting ready now going to carry on and we just go for it they’ve done the track so they’re calling it so let’s go for it get the meeting sorted and over yeah is that
What you want to do yeah we go for it my Riders want to go for it so we’re going for it yeah and at the moment you you had a fantastic couple of start uh Heats to the meetings fantastic Heats and how do you want to come back from that now
Though after going be we just got to try and make the gates all the time and get in front of them and then just hold them off early and that’s it that’s how we got our game plan there is to do that and that’s what we’re going to do I was
Speaking to w a little bit earlier and she said that oh it’s almost like this this pressure tag this favorite tag on your shoulders at the moment is really weighing you down do you have that same opinion yeah is a bit really you know everyone wants to beat us you know and
It’s just we don’t we’re not jelling you know all together and hopefully we we start to do that now you know and we’ve had a little word with the team about it and hopefully that’s what we’re going to start to do but you know when your favorites to win if everyone wants to

Heats uh down the road and if the rain stays away which it looks pretty bright but we didn’t expect this in the first place they’ll probably be able to grade it again and bring the track more to the rider’s liking but at the moment it’s all about getting out of that start and
Trying to just keep yourself uh upright for the four laps and um I’m sure there’s going to be guys slipping and sliding a little bit as they start figuring it out and the people watching the other Riders will be looking over the fence right now to see what’s looks

Again Lee l goes off the inside in red for the witches clous missing goes off gate two in white for Somerset Morton R gate three in blue for rip switch and Kyle Newman goes off the outside in the yellow helmet color Newman a winner first time out but it’s tough off gate
Four in these conditions it sure is and uh CL Ving is going to be trying to make that duplicate that if he can and hopefully the referee doesn’t stop at this time but you’re right with his partner on the outside the gate four it does make things a little bit difficult
Up there and but if he can show his color and clus can make the start that he made um and look over his shoulder he could possibly let uh let him come straight around him which would be a big bonus if Kyle could get there with Kyle

Coming charging hard is the man in red Lee lanam Morton R is the man in blue and they’re getting filled in here KL Newman trailing in the back but Cloud’s missing up front this would be a three all if it stays like this and it would still maintain a four point Advantage
For him switch but it’s not pretty here Sam no definitely not as I said it’s going to take a couple of races for these guys to get comfortable and able to get some of that slushy stuff off the off the race surface if there’s any
Chance at all but and you just got to be content right now and clus VY made a good enough start to get himself in front Lee l was following him through and Morton put a put a charge on for the first lap or so just trying to stay out
Of the spray but it looks like they’re just going to settle down to finish the race in this order CL fing who has experience in the elite league as well he was linked to the move to Birmingham as part of their squad recently we understand that deal didn’t go through
Vissing has the lead in white and he’s going to take the check and flag for the somerset Rebels it’s a fine victory for clous missing puts him on to Four Points out of a possible six Kyle Newman well and truly behind there filled in with
Shale there and it was a fine win for klous vissing in white it’s always best to make the start in these conditions because that’s how you stay clean Lee Lam was second Morton R was third three all and it maintains the narrow Advantage for the home side here the ips
Switch witches clouse missing takes the victory Lee Lam second Morton r a third and Kyle Newman failed to score there a three I switch wit is 20 Somerset Rebels have 16 well focus on CL missing cuz he did make that unbelievable first start when we made the attempt to get this

Said that they needed to grade it but just describe to us how bad it is cuz it seemed to just look like it was almost like just hold on yeah it is it’s it’s really bad it’s like brown soap on a on a on a on a hill and you just SK ski

Favor of the home side if which looking to bounce back after their home defeat last Wednesday this is Heat number seven oh mov to the start and we’re going to have another delay and it is understandable that these want to make the start they want to get out there as quickly as
Possible Sam yeah but they’re going to they’re going to be uh delaying things and uh the skies at least look pretty darn good from here but I think it was James Wright and yellow jumped the gate right there and as he did that yeah it’s obvious that his front wheel um hit the
The white tapes there and uh the referee uh has no hesitation to exclude James Wright from the race now James Wright is the man who can go off a 15 M handicap or he can be replace by a reserve he’s touched the tapes and broken the tapes
Indeed so we now await the decision from the somerset team manager Gary may as to what he’s going to do here now and it sounds as though he’s going to be replaced by Tom Perry and that will be Perry’s thirdd programmed ride and I wonder whether Gary May is doing that
Deliberately to use Perry’s third ride because Perry quite clearly struggling here and it could well be that Perry is being used for a third ride to get his rides out of the way yeah maybe in this situation rather than the option of uh going 15 meters behind if they would
Have gone 15 meters behind what that would have done it would have it would have moved everybody around on the starting lines and it would have meant that uh the rebels would had to come out of gate too which might be might be somewhat of an advantage but maybe not
So you know they took the choice of putting Tom Perry in when you see conditions like this Sam as a rider it just puts extra pressure on you to make the start is that why we’re seeing starts like this now I think uh you know as a writer um you mentioned the fact
That you want to earn your money as well points mean money and you want to get out there and it’s real important to make a good start Nigel if you can because uh you’ll get a chance to go out there and earn those points and those
Points mean money and and this is their livelihood so as a rider you just kind of absorb all the different conditions you know that somebody’s going to win somebody’s going to get second somebody does it got extra pressure on you to make the start are you conscious that
You have to make the start more than before I think it’s a different technique so that technique if you’re good on these kind of a conditions it’s all about making sure that you can take advantage of adjusting your starting position on the bike to get yourself out
In front the pressure is on yourself no matter what whether the conditions are deep or slick Tom Perry comes in here then for James wri Perry a teenager from wolver Hampton rides for Dudley in the National League misses their meeting tonight to ride for Somerset here at
Ipswitch we have seen him before riding for Somerset in May and we saw him as a reserve in the British final at wolver Hampton last year but Perry struggling on this tight track he admitted a little bit earlier that it’s not his favorite track and uh as a young Rider he’s got
To learn to ride all tracks I guess yeah I think as a young Rider the experience he’s going to get tonight’s all all about getting those laps in and next time it comes here hopefully he’ll with a little bit more confidence Sam Masters has used that delay to his Advantage Sam

And shepher Perry home but seam riding in second and third yeah well Rowan made no mistakes getting himself out in front he has no issues other than the slippery conditions and he’s way out in front enjoying his uh fresh air right there and adds another three points to his
Already perfect score but the guys in the back right now they’re tightening up going into turn three for another lap yeah Matt Rosario is going to try and put a bit of pressure on Tom Perry in third Perry an accomplished grass track Rider so he won’t be phased by these
Conditions that’s for sure maybe we will see him again but it’s Masters looking over his should shoulder this is the battle for second third and the back the lead is with the runaway leader Rowan Tate and it looks as though Somerset Rebels are going to hang on for a three
All in treacherous conditions here Rowan Tungate magnificent in red and then you had Sam Masters and Tom Perry who team rode home to block out Matt Rosario there in Heat number seven so the score line remains very very close here Tungate takes a victory he’s got two
Rides and two wins to his name now flying the flag for the I switch Witch is superb right from him Rowan tongate the winner Sam Master second Tom Perry was third maybe we will see Perry again because he will Revel in these conditions tario at the back three or Li switch 23 Somerset
19 yeah the boys know their business uh you know they might be guessing a little bit on this setup but uh whenever they finally got this race underway then when they got into that first Corner Sam Masters was just ly trying to get in there and see if he can actually command
The first corner but it was all about Rowan Tungate that got there first and he never really looked back after that and as you say if he’s looking for a number one spot to get that five off his back he’s doing a good job for it and
I’m sure everybody’s going to be looking at that reaction comes from Charlie yeah that go got Rowan with me Rowan some Riders are absolutely covered you’re not too bad why is that how tough is it out there uh it’s very conditions are pretty bad so you got to make the best of
Starts and get out in front so talk us through your first Corner then because it was a bit of a tussle there yeah Sam went on the inside and I just sort of got in a bit of the dirt and sort of got the run out of the corner so it all
Worked out for me and you’ve had double figures in your last two meetings for the witches but now you’ve moved ride order how’s that affected things for you I like it it’s good it’s good to move forward and it just build your confidence up more and more so yeah it’s

More slippery than anything but you’re right yeah tricky that’s another word that you would like to use uh because at the end at the end of the day you know the conditions are difficult all you want to do is just keep your wheels the rubber side on the track don’t fall down
And that’s could aggravate your injury so you the tricky side of it is right but when we say heavy Sam we we have to look at the outside line that’s a no-o zone at the moment isn’t it well it’s only because it’s sloppy out there you
Put your back wheel in there and your front wheel in there and you get them both in there at the same time you’ll more more or less drift on the slimy side of things rather than have the grip to pull you through the corner so as the races continue the back wheels will

Newman it’s not pretty it’s difficult out there but the boys are getting up with it s yeah understatement there we seen Morton resid there it uh Black from the head to the toe and uh difficult conditions but Cameron heaps uh made no mistakes of getting himself out in front

Four very difficult to get there Cameron heaps in the blue then goes into the first Corner attacks the track like you need to be doing I can tell you that you got to keep the throttle on get that bike settled look at the bike launch himself into that first Corner that’s
All about being confident probably doing the right setup in the pits he’s got somebody like Chris Lou I’m sure advising him how to get that bike to hook up and go forward but look at this battle in the back it’s all about Morton if he’s going to be able to get over one

And Dakota North goes off the outside in the red helmet color an important race coming up fing will fancy it off One S he sure will It’s All About Kevin duelan if he can get just make that start for IP switch and get himself over the top of
His inside guy Claus vissy and he might have an opportunity there then Dakota North from the outside if he can meet with Kevin into that first Corner they could possibly put somebody like CL missing behind him but that’s all about ifs it’s a matter of getting out of that

Comes up the inside says thank you very much and watch out for the co nor in r as well it’s going to happen you can see it’s going to happen Nigel and that’s an awkward Landing for clouse Ving he’s landed on his shoulder he is going to be
In severe pain there that was an awful tumble in Heat number nine and clous Ving hits the deck at high speed let’s hope that he’s going to be okay but quite clearly right now he looks in a lot of discomfort and it was a very very close battle developing in Heat number nine
Yeah they let’s take a look at it again s yeah they definitely got tangled up it was foot pegs into engines and engines into front wheels and front wheels everywhere just look right there uh you can just see on the inside right there footpeg just got into in in between the
Front wheels there and put him down yeah visting up we can hear the crowd cheering for him let’s see the referee is obviously interested to see what happened here oh he just got hit from behind so that’s right there I’m sure that um Dakota North could possibly be
The the the one that actually caused that right up the inside yep toota North the man in red clous fing the man in the white helmet color Witch is chasing for a 5-1 there Dan halt about to make a decision on the restart off number
N and we await Dan ht’s decision as to the cause of the stoppage clous vissing making his way back to the pitch it’s good to see it was an awful landing and you see crashes like that and broken collar bones are quite often the result
But uh Ving is on the way and klouse Ving has been disqualified as the cause of the sto one very much difficult I mean CL Ving was trying to position himself somewhere in that race you know as the laps were continuing there the corners were coming up he was the one
That was challenging to secure some kind of a spot and it was all about uh you know vising trying to get in there Kevin Duan made a good cut back going into turns uh three and as he got underneath them and they came into this situation
On the second lap they just tightened up right there and I believe because Dakota North was possibly in front of uh Vin that’s uh why the referee made his decision it’s a controversial decision which Somerset will not love because the rider in red here has gone
Into CL V you can look it look at it from both sides Dakota North has clattered into CL Ving but quite clearly the other side of the argument here is that vising locked up and that’s what caused Dakota North to hit him Ving is trying to secure a spot right there he’s
Trying to squeeze back into the inside if he possibly can do to secure a second and he got right into the way of Dakota North Dakota North really couldn’t slow his bike down any bit more so referees probably looked at the conditions that these boys are riding in and made a
Decision off that here’s Charlie in the pits yeah there’s a real mixed reaction here in the pits Gary you were just on the phone to the referee what was your opinion well my opinion was that that com straight over and took took clouse right out and the referee’s gone the
Other way what did the referee say to you and explaining why he made that decision D never moved off his line saying my R have come across but clous was in front so obviously took he took clous right out he run into CL so he should go but that’s a referee do you
Think because of these conditions that should be maybe taken in consideration yeah maybe but but it’s the trouble is it’s after the first Ben you can’t do nothing about it one Rider has to get excluded but Dak actually run straight into my rider so I think that Dak should
Go but the referee’s got a different opinion so that’s all I can do I can’t argue anymore what what effect does it have on your Riders now well I just got to go back and pick him up now you know that that shouldn’t have really happened
But just got to go back pick him up and get the Tom going now for this race thank you very much Gary so CL missing in quite a bit of pain quite clearly after that uh incident there there we await the restart of heat number nine lot of
Pressure on Tom Perry for Somerset here we can see the track conditions here now B of track work going on and uh little bit of track grading but let’s keep our fingers crossed that we can get through this meeting the tractor has tried to take away some of the slop around the
Outside if at all possible so conditions pretty tricky but a controversial decision there the referee might argue that he well either way it was a 50/50 call you know most cases where there clus wouldn’t have been excluded I wouldn’t think and most of the referees
See the fact that K CL was in front of uh Dakota whenever they they kind of came together but end of the day you know maybe the referees taking considerate the conditions let’s just watch now just see right there in the blue helmet color right there but just
On the inside we didn’t quite see exactly what happened the it’s already there it is there’s clus in the white helmet Dakota’s obviously had his front wheel and got some extra traction right there which I think that’s what caused it if if Dakota wouldn’t have got that
Extra drive right there he might have been able to keep his front wheel closer to the white line compose themselves in there and maybe that incident would have happened that’s a very difficult one and I I got to kind of say I feel for Claus hopefully it doesn’t blow it cells down
And can go out there because I think the rebels need him oh dear this is the last thing we need now exactly rain coming down it’s difficult for Riders Sam isn’t it because it stop start the conditions are tricky here and how hard is it as a
Rider on a night like this well you got to be positive you know that’s the whole attitude of a racer man you want to go out there and score your points and do the job for your team if you possibly can the team manager will be pumping you
Up and the Riders will be seeing let’s do it that little bit of shower could be difficult at times but uh it’s bright on this side but it’s dark on that side I don’t know it’s difficult for a rider to keep himself positive most of the time
You just say let’s give it up but you know these guys have been giving up a lot of meetings this year so far absolutely right well track work going on behind us then let’s keep our fingers crossed that we can resume action very shortly here at the Foxhall Stadium

Track we’ve had one or two uh downpours here at the foxall stadium and we’ve just seen a controversial refereeing decision from Dan halt excluding clouse vising when Dakota North charged up the inside and clattered into him and there has been a little bit of track work but
Quite clearly there are parts of the track here now at the Foxhall Stadium which are very difficult and the rain is pouring down once again here fingers crossed that we can get through to the end of heat 12 we need four more races to get a result here at foxall tonight

Skills that you’ve uh you’ve talked about if you can get out that start and throw his back wheel in that deep stuff maybe he’ll pull him around him I just thought it was a factor you know he’s he’s a young man he’s feeless that uh the young man side of it I can

And away from that start it’s a good one from Blue the red lights are on right okay and Dakota North has now slid off the bike the rain is coming down Dakota North has just slid off the bike here and Gary May the somerset team manager
Is making gestures down by the pits area towards the referee now let’s take a look as to why the red lights went on here Sam let’s see if we can see anybody moving it looked pretty uh pretty normal to me um not so sure why he stopped
It yeah I think he’ll probably look at Kevin Duan in blue who got a quick getaway there but uh Duan will claim that he was hard done to and I think the uh the concern here perhaps is about the tapes not going up evenly okay that’s probably what it is
Sam y there you go and the rain is getting heavier here sorry to say this and uh sometimes you just wonder whether a meeting is destined to go on yeah the tapes look like they went up fairly evenly um I don’t really know what the referee’s seen there obviously he’s

And now it should be a formality for it switch to go on in the rain and get a 5-1 here yeah there’s no doubt that are very very difficult conditions the rain continues to come down as I said it’s a matter of survival right now if they
Keep going like they do with the rain coming down the boys will come across the Finish Line off clean yeah the lead is with the man in blue Kevin Duan second place in ready toak to North Tom Perry alone at the back in third place they’re about to go

Lin man former workington Rider as well had a experience with Belle view in the top flight and Tom Perry is going to come around and get a point after falling earlier in the race so Tom Perry completes the race 5-1 to the ipswitch witches who open up now

The rain coming down yeah it’s uh it is it is hard out there and these experienced boys Tom right there is probably the weak length you know he hasn’t had a heck of a lot of uh years under his belt he knew he had a second second attempt on this start right here
To see if he can get in front of these pairs didn’t do it cut back on the inside he had a good go he thought it could possibly get up the inside of Kevin Duan there in the blue but Dakota on the outside there squeezes down on
The inside which gives Tom only only one opportunity to come on the inside his front wheel hits the greasy curb because there a little bit of a concrete curb right on the inside washes his front wheel out straight away unbalances him he’s on the deck picks the bike back up
Follows the rest of the boys a half lap behind for that one point and uh Five Points to if switch one point for the somerset Rebels into the story in that one Kevin Duan is down in the pits with Charlie yeah it’s getting bit muddy down
Here in the pits I’ve got Kevin with me Kevin you got a fantastic 51 out there despite the conditions it from your point of view well as you said it’s pretty difficult out there and pretty muddy but uh you managed to get away from the start and I didn’t see where
Dak was but uh I struggled a little bit off the second Bend but once I got up the pace and I was man able to hold myself out front so yeah I seen Dak come through for second so that’s what we need you got pulled back on the first
One you actually got an amazing start was there anything wrong from your point of view there was absolutely nothing wrong with it but uh sometimes the referee’s in a situation where you know he maybe he’s he’s got so much going on he maybe thought I jumped it but uh
There’s no way I let the clutch go before the T went up we’ve talked a lot about the conditions and it is sort of raining on and off down here but is it a case that sometimes you just got to bang it out and get on with it yeah it’s
Really difficult to to judge sometimes sometimes the vision’s so poor that you just can’t race and sometimes like tonight it slows the racing down enough that the vision you can compromise a little bit on but uh it’s very very close to being too bad but everyone’s

From the pits area yeah that was at the meeting continues absolutely we had nothing to do with that one there for sure I mean as a rider I mean it’s down to you to make the decision if the boys weren’t happy they shouldn’t have gone
Out there I know that if I wouldn’t have been happy I wouldn’t have gone out there so Heat number 12 eight points a difference in favor of the IP switch witches as it stands right now watch out for Cameron heaps in blue he was an impressive winner last time out what can

Out of room there and it’s really sloppy up there normally he would probably have picked himself up and gone a little bit further but he was just in the mess of the the sloppiness there and he had nothing to hold him up um they were just
Racing for it just ran out of room so no nobody will be excluded it will just be the fact that uh uh Rowan will will be the one that will probably be a discounted from the restart yep Rowan Tungate is a man who’s gone down in blue

The inside of him which had the right to be there cuz he was chasing down Le Lam so uh you know Jason was doing his job and it was just unfortunate for Rowan that he ran out of room there and uh he’s in the muck well Jason Doyle riding
Superbly tonight three rides three wins second chance ask the question there about Rowan Tungate Sam is’s a young Rider got plenty of enthusiasm quite clearly frustrated there by coming down could he have cleared the track should he have cleared the track in your opinion there now well that’s all the
Ifs and butts but at end of the day he didn’t and and the race was uh was stopped and um you know it’s unfortunate for him I mean he’s he’s probably a little bit agreed the fact that he ran out of room and all the good stuff but
You know he’s young he’s learning the game and uh you know his experience possibly would have meant to look up there and see that his partner was in front and not to sacrif now there’s a second chance for for Jason Doran to take advantage of making a start over

They possibly kep it a three all cuz Lee Lam was in front before that race was stopped because uh of Rowan Tong Gate’s Misfortune and going into turn three Jason Doyle the winner from Lee Lam second Kyle Newman third so it’s a 4-2 to Somerset I switch lead by 44 points
To 34 two Heats to go yeah we were focusing at the start there of Lee landan on what he could do there but it was all about Jason he didn’t make no mistakes that time he made a clean start got himself an attack the track and
Never looked back from that point on you can just see Lee l just lifts a little bit too much there decides it’s the tuck back underneath Jason Doyle coming off of turn two and uh it’s all about points at this stage and difficult conditions out there and it’s a matter of surviving
The four laps and uh Lam did his job and so did uh doy yep so uh Jason Doyle returns to the pits area with four wins under his belt an Immaculate record that’s why he’s so clean but uh in the original staging of that race he had had a real battle with
Lee lanam Rowan Tungate didn’t clear the track and I can tell you that Cameron heaps will come out in blue here we see him there with a 1980 world champion Michael Lee alongside him Micha has played a big part in uh Cameron’s early days of his career so far alongside
Chris Louie the director of Speedway here at Swit and of course co-promoter at National League milden Hall as well so heaps who we’ve enjoyed seeing and we did say at the top of the show Sam that he’s one to watch yeah well he’s definitely um is not disappointed us
With his uh aggressiveness out there and his commitment to riding in these difficult conditions and I can tell you with Michael Lee he’ll be definitely advising him to say look you know Michael’s theory is is is spot on a lot of times it’s not a matter of holding
The throttle on wide open it’s a matter of rolling the throttle off sometimes you go faster and uh we just got to just focus on Cameron if we can for a bit here and I’m sure he’ll go out there and uh and try to take advantage of these

And Chris Louie as Sam mentioned the director of Speedway here at the foxall stadium with the Riders they’ve shuffled the riding order as well and they’ve really got stuck in but you got to credit all the Riders tonight because the conditions have been treacherous out it could have been either way to tell
You the truth Nigel and at the end of the day these guys all went out there battle the elements and uh you know there’s going to be a winner and a loser and it’s just a shame that uh Somerset didn’t go away with some points well
