Do you want to see inside one of the most cutting edge mountain bike and bicycle companies? Check out our factory tour and see inside Canyon Bicycles German offices, demo center and headquarters.
Spread across the unassuming German city of Koblenz are the headquarters and facilities of a brand that has been growing rapidly both in size and presence in the cycling world – Canyon bicycles. As a direct sales powerhouse, it was difficult for us to imagine what was going on behind the doors of the Canyon buildings in Germany, so our crew was very excited to pay them a visit to film this Behind The Brand feature and get some insight into the characters making it happen behind the scenes.
From their Koblenz showroom and demo center named “Canyon Home”, through their test labs, factory, and “Pro Sports division” where they manage their huge roster of sponsored athletes, it was a very interesting trip and left us with some elevated appreciation of the Canyon brand and product.
Canyon has a keen focus on innovation and performance, which was evident throughout our visit. From their use of tech in their quality control, to the processes they’ve developed to improve efficiency in their factory, there was a lot to impress us along the way. But even more impressive was the passion that we felt from the characters we spoke to – all with the same enthusiasm about their jobs and bikes in general.
Of course, we had to sample their local trails, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise, but had our hearts pounding as we tried to stay rubber side down in the slick mud while following the Canyon employee shredders who joined us.

Great video, thanks for sharing. Proud owner of Neuron CF9 😜
The greatest i ve seen when i met canyon was the fact, the people in the show room really gives u a advice not a sales pitch… they have no sales commission and u cant buy a bike… and the company does a lot for worklife balance… in summary, witch bike u buy is nowadays a question on your personal taste not quality, cause most brands are on nearly the same level… and thats great for us customer…..🤙
my first mtb was a canyon now its polygon for mtb, road and gravel. Canyon lost its roots and went overpriced on their bikes but Polygon is now the old Canyon, good designs and part specs at affordable price. In short, Polygon > Canyon for 2023 and beyond. Also all mtbs from Canyon are made in Asia, it´s just assembled and checked for QC in Germany. Canyon manufactures nothing in Germany, even their Shimano/Sram/Rockshox parts are all made in Asia and ship to Germany for assembly and QC. It´s just a matter of time some brands pop out of Asia doing their own design and RD. The Asians already do 99% of the work building a bicycle. These lazy Euro brands actually don´t do much other than adding an extra gear to the cassette. Think Campagnolo. Lazy innovation living off the laurels of the past.
they should expand their business to scooters and electric skateboards . Canyon have the best quality materials
"Raw Material" = the Chinese built parts we assemble?
fkin useless video, music way too loud
Assembled in Germany, not made. mass produced in Taiwan like most bikes, they must be making a hell of a profit by using far eastern workers. Hats of to them 👍
Please blink twice if you need help, too german to robotic, kind of souless little bit force but nice organization and very dial
why am i watchin some dude being photo'd in a im guessin whats supposed to be your sexy pose.. on a couch 🤣SMH
The Problem with canyon is .That my friend wait since 2 year for this ordered bike .. because they still have problems to get enough parts as they production was delayed a lot from COVID and still is..
Great company! I have been buying Canyon MTBs for the last 9 years. While packaging has improved considerably over the years, more work needs to be done because customs & carriers abuse the boxes over here in mainland China. I hope e-MTBs become available for sale in China soon!
I am always dreaming of their GRAIL model, unfortunately, it is hard to get a stock from Denmark. The stock of my size is not always available and if it is, just for few seconds and it then suddenly becomes unavailable. Looking forward to get one of their gravel model.
Bought my Canyon Endurace 7 years ago. I did 100.000km all season on this the bike and had 2 major accidents. 1 was a 90degree turn at 37kmh crash into a car. And one was a 180degree frontal flip at 30kmh on concrete. The bike survived and so did I.
As I ordered a new Aeroad CFR, I offered Canyon to inspect my Endurace, but they declined. I guess Canyon doesn’t need real life quality checks. As good as my experience was I stay with Canyon anyway.
My respect for Canyon just went up. I never knew Canyon was on that level of Sick!
Quality german engineering and no engine emissions either 👍
Not a factory. An assembly line. The factories are in China.
Where do thay do the frazes? Germany factory too ?
Awesome video! I ordered Tuesday my first canyon bike and it will be delivered on Saturday, i am so excited ,🙂
That production/assembly line is fundamentally exactly like a vehicle assembly line.
What is amazing is that it is so quiet for a factory.
I always love factory tour videos. It's inspiring to see how the bikes we love get developed, and learn about the lives of the people behind the scenes.
Problem with Canyon is that I want to buy a Grand Canyon 9, but there is zero marketing about the bike and no videos on youtube with the bike and it was not possible to either see or try in Denmark?!?
I offered to buy it with a discount, but they said the price was fixed.
Who buys a 1.900€ bike without either seing it, trying it or watching a review of it – neither was there.
Canyon is a no-go for me.
Canyon brand hasn't delivered my order since May 29th. They're not refunding my money, and I have to constantly pay interest. The trading experience with Canyon brand has been very poor. The authorized individuals are not getting back to me.
I love it!
They all same bikes. They don't have signal lights like motorcycles. The helmet don't have ac ventilation. It's 21st century.
Die Qualität bei der Auslieferung der Bikes ist sowas von miserabel geworden! Ich tippe, das Wort Endkontrolle kennen die nicht!
Recently there are more and more reports of faulty new bikes that people receive.. from faulty brakes (twisted rotors), to scratches on paintworks under screws and bolts, unindexed transmissions, wrong assembly parts (screws,..), horrific support communication,… it all shows that Quality assurance in Canyon is in steep decline, which is VERY VERY strange and untypical for a GERMAN brand!
china bike total crap ………
Canyon Spectral 125 CF7 .. best bike I've ever had !! Thank you from Czechia :))
