Time in France this summer wow in fact I I think I’m gonna go back this summer I love it maybe maybe this time it should be Italy ah you know yeah you did your biking trip now you all something you want to know about Carrie is he was he
Had planned this biking trip and all this stuff happened at the last minute and it it actually became a book so why don’t you start by telling everybody a little bit of that story because it is a powerful story of persistence and well I’ll tell you what yeah absolutely I
Feel like um a lot of your audience pain is what what unites Us in other words every human has had pain not every human has had love but every human has had pain and so a lot of times we can take that in waste our pain and not
Learn from it or not leverage it but when I had that situation happened where I was training for a year to do some of the toughest mountains in the world that are also in the tour to France I trained so hard and so long and
It and I had friends who said just come and so for years I said no I’m not going to come I’m not going to come but they’ve gone probably four five six times so finally I say yes so I say yes and then six days before the main guy
His wife uh had a urgent sick sickness uh she had to have an immediate surgery so I understand you know I support him I understand this his wife I think he should support them but the other five friends bailed and I think they felt no judgment on them but I think they felt
Like they were actually um you know being kind like hey this is the main guy he’s his wife’s in need we’re going to bail well you know that I had planned a uh event with clients coming from all over the world like you
And so I I was like I cannot bail on my clients right and so I quickly looked and said well what happens if I reroute and just go to France and it was Triple the cost and I was just torn into because I didn’t know what to do and I
Feel like sometimes we look we look and we say maybe God’s telling me not to go right and right I mean don’t we do that anytime we run into something tough yeah and maybe maybe that’s what your audience needs to hear today like maybe writing a book is too tough well I flip
It and I say well maybe God really wants me to go and this is the enemy trying to prevent me from having a major breakthrough and so I just talked to my wife she’s like I think you should go thought and prayed and so I went and it
Was amazing and it was so tough it’s tough anyway yeah but when you when you have zero friends in a new country it’s all new um so what happened Dr Barnsley is I basically shortly into it I’m like oh my gosh the only way I’m gonna make this is
To think like an entrepreneur because I’ve been an entrepreneur now for at least with a side hustle for 20 years and then full-time uh about 11 so I thought you know what I’m gonna think like an entrepreneur and so I did I began to think like an entrepreneur
One of the first things is Independence no one’s coming to save you so you have to you have to embrace that right yes because so many times as an entrepreneur like entrepreneurs think oh well you know I I’ll get bailed out or you know
People back me up and you know or I can wait till tomorrow I love I have to stop you because you just said want to want entrepreneur wantrepreneur I love that I’ve never heard that car that is fabulous because so many people will stay there they’ll stay fall in love
With the entrepreneur Freedom finances fulfillment it sounds sexy but um you know as an entrepreneur no one’s coming to save you and and as so what I did is I came up with 10 traits and this wasn’t like oh while I’m biking I thought of
The 10 traits no it’s like you know how a book is it kind of like while you’re alone on the mountain riding for literally one day 11 hours I’m not even kidding um so these 10 traits though one one of the other traits is uh make friends before you need
Them you see so they sound like paradoxes right so what I did is I basically have five spokes for the front wheel five spokes for the back wheel and the book is broken down into into the 10 traits it’s called the e- mind not the e- myth by Michael Gerber that’s a
Famous book but that’s where I did kind of like o eth e- mind how to think like an entrepreneur and gain an exponential advantage and so yeah that book is literally being turned into 18 streams of income like a Turnal my books in 18 streams of
In I love that and I love how you I you know I really want everybody to hear what car’s laying down which is you know the entrepreneurial journey is not easy and that’s where I say Carrie on this show I say we do the no BS version of Entrepreneurship because there are
Moments oh where you doubt yourself absolutely you doubt yourself and you think oh my Lance how am I going to have this happen and yet there’s a reason that you have been gifted with that dream there is a reason you have been given that Divine thought I would call
It a Divine thought and the thing is if we don’t grab hold of those things someone else will and so you you know while we were sitting in that wonderful Cafe right yeah the oldest Cafe in France yes and my you know my my uh I
Told you I have a cousin who’s married to a Frenchman and has lived there forever and they just purchased the Chateau like an hour out of Paris but she’s like oh that is my favorite Cafe ever wow and this is where voler all these incredible luminaries yes sat and
Wrote did their talk to each other D Deo all these people um just the feeling in that place was so amazing and you made a decision to stick to your commitment and that is where you know I see people who will start start an entrepreneurial venture and say or or
Start writing a book yep and say you know oh gosh this is getting so hard maybe as you say maybe I’m not supposed to do it you know maybe this resistance is telling me something but the truth of the matter is you had that Divine thought for a reason and commit and
Follow through isn’t that amazing that um I thought it was just about me and a trip yeah but believe and you know this you you you have you have books um you have books out don’t you I think you do yeah so you know that you get these
Letters from people who who you’ve never met and they’ll say dear Dr barnesley we’ve never met but I read your book and it changed my life and I knew not I didn’t know before I went but I didn’t know that it was going to turn into a book but now looking back I’m
Like wow no wonder why there was so much resistance if I would have said no to the trip I would have disappointed all my clients you your daughter you guys would have been like what the heck what’s up with this guy you know um I you can make excuses you know and be
Like oh you know someone you know but no I had to own that and then it turned into a book which is now I believe books are Eternal they out us right and now who knows how much impact that book’s going to create yeah I love it and and it it it’s just
You know we pull out of our experiences we’re given our experiences for a reason and you know life isn’t a bad of roses so to speak a lot of times it’s Thorns Thorns Thorns yeah and uh you know and we get to take that we can either sit
Back and be a victim and ask those questions why me or we can ask the question why me Ah that’s good that’s good and you asked the question why me and you know if if your friends had been around you if everything had been right in that you
Know been so much easier well you wouldn’t have written the book because you would have been busy with your friends you know think about it oh 100% I would not the book the book would not have happened yeah you would have been thinking about other stuff about what
You all were gonna eat or you know what French wine you were gonna try or whatever yeah you wouldn’t have been thinking as you were pedaling along man this is really hard oh yeah how am I going to turn this into these so right you are so right the book would not have
Happened if the friends came but isn’t that true uh you know even last week you know a situation happened where you get this email you get the phone call whatever and it changes everything whether it’s Health money relationships and all of a sudden you can be like everything’s out the window
Or what somebody once said and you’ve heard this before what does this make possible exactly what’s possible here yeah and and that question when we can shift over there then all sorts of things can open up out of that’s true anything and I I do believe that the poo is
Compost right the pooo that we go through it’s compost you all so there’s a reason for every bit of it yeah turn the Poo into compost realize it’s compost and use it for growth um you know I was just on this podcaster cruise and I know we’re going to get to those
18 ways in a second by the way Carrie but I just got back from the podcasters cruise with Michael Ney and Christa whose last name I can never pronounce correctly um and amazing people from all over the world and I just felt so inspired that so many people for example
Two people on that cruise had lost their spouses on cruises wow one was the marketer’s cruise a spouse had died another was another business cruise and the spouse had died of a stroke just totally expectedly wow and I got to spend time with both of them and one of
Them is turning this experience into a podcast which she’s still working on the uh the name of it but the idea is taking grief into what you create with it wow and I just I think about that we’re you know we nothing is lost when we are
Aware that we have been given every part of our journey for a reason I totally believe that and the traumas we’ve been through all the things you know everything that I experienced in childhood that was hard guess what it brought me here and everything that you experienced you know your book tell them
A bit about your book your secret name with oh I love I love this and the the suicide rate is so high for teenagers right now and I just you know I think we should mention this book sure yeah I’m I’m all about um my heart goes out to people who
Struggle with depression and self-injury so my whole thing was young kid struggled with stuttering you know probably had at a very young age probably had like significant abuse but you know there’s a whole thing I won’t get into but um you know let’s just say that there was a a family
Member who ended up killing himself you know I won’t get into it but the point is that I basically at a very young age took a lot of pain and internalized it didn’t speak didn’t speak because of the stuttering so here I am young kid lots
Of pain won’t speak so I turn it inside and it started with biting and then it turned into cutting and I’ve gone into a lot of books about why people self- injure are they reenacting the pain but now they can control it are they punishing themselves because they believe they’re uh bad because
They’re not perfect all kinds of stuff that you know who knows but long story short um man I was done with life I was done with life at at as a teen I was like man you know the only reason I didn’t kill myself is because I thought
I’ll show up God will say you’re here early look what look what I had planned for you and I would have regret for the rest of Eternity be like oh crap which would have been true yeah um because you know God has used my life but um long
Story short we all have names and identity is huge and so the names in my head were um you know failure cutter all this stuff and sometimes it’s the positive names that can hold us back like beautiful well what happens if you become a burn victim then or athlete and
You always have to perform and that’s your only identity right so we all have this names and I say that we have three names we have birth name given name and then we have a secret name and the secret name is actually from um it’s in the scriptures but it’s also
In all kinds of movies as well but in the Scriptures it talks I got a little white thing here I’ll pretend this is a stone but it says the one who overcomes will be given a new name written on a white stone and no one knows the name
Except the one who receives it and that verse is amazing because um Overcomer is interesting because white stones in the first century were used in a court of law if you were voted uh guilty they would nothing with skin color but they would vote with a a dark
Stone this is where we get the term black bald interesting yeah so you’ve been blackballed that means you’ve been the die has been cast you’ve been voted you’ve been guilty and the white stones so the Whit Stone represented innocence and it was also used at um weddings Whit
Stones were precious and so they would write your name on a white zone you’d present it to the attendant at the gate You’ be led into the wedding so that verse is a promise and so I had to go on a journey of what what is my secret name and I believe your
Secret name is the name that God actually has given you it’s Way Beyond your performance it’s who you truly are and so my secret name is the name free so everything I had battled with my whole life was about this people pleasing this performance this heaviness and so I always was impressed with
Movies like Dances with Wolves when the guy is just holding his arms back and you know or Lord of um Lord of the Rings or Dead Poet Society where the guy Todd is speaking his poem you know as Robin Williams is setting him free so I
Believe that God has been trying to tell your listeners their whole life what their secret name is but we’ve been trying to find it in other things and people and people and relationships and yeah performance and achievements but you know we we hear this but it’s also in every movie you
Have uh Lord of the Rings and you have the guy who is Aragorn he’s supposed to be a king but he’s living under the name Strider a Wanderer you have Lion King heir to the throne tight relationship with his father disobeys goes into the places he
Shouldn’t go dies in or his father dies trying to save him in the elephant graveyard his his uh Uncle comes to him and says You’re a murderer gives him a false name you’re banished he runs and he lives life auna Matata Don’t Worry Be Happy who cares about life which is
Where a lot of our society is today yes meets Rafiki Rafiki says ‘look I’ve seen your father I know who you really are he’s like no you don’t and he says go go find him he’s in the jungle he goes into he goes into the hero’s journey he goes
And he looks in the pond and he’s disappointed he sees himself he sees only his given names his birth name his father appears and says you’re more than who you’ve become remember who you are and so this is really everyone’s Journey and I believe personally you know your your people might believe
Differently but I believe that um you know in Christ I I get a new name and so my my that this has freed me up and um you know I overcame self- injury and now I help people it’s it’s deep stuff it is and if you think about the
The name Yahweh is the I am oh yeah yeah yeah and we are the I am we are the I am presence on the planet you know because I like to say to people I don’t know if you’ve noticed but um Jesus isn’t here right now like not on the planet right
Now right so so who does who does Source energy God whatever you’d like to call that who do they who does that energy have that love energy but us to work through so we become you know the hands of that that Divine spirit and and hopefully the the mouthpieces for good
And for justice and you know sometimes righteous anger sometimes you know because there’s a lot to be angry about oh yeah you know there’s a lot that needs to change and so yeah I love I love this now you all your secret name they can find it on Amazon right oh yeah
It’s on Amazon um man it’s been picked up by um prisons you know by um former prostitutes like a whole um human traff trafficking um Ministry and but even just people who are um young people old people like we all struggle with with identity I mean if we’re honest oh my
Gosh like adults struggle with this all the time you know who’s got the biggest house who’s got the biggest promotion I mean we all try to find who we are in things and and achievements rather than our connection with as you say the Divine yep yeah just it just that
Connection which is you know we’re made in the reflection of that we are the reflection of that we’re made in the image of that and so uh that energy if you will that Divine energy and so uh you know what are we doing with that that’s that’s the question what are you
Know what are you everyone watching and listening what are you doing with that you know you there’s nothing that is wrong with you because how could it be if you’re the reflection of that Divine energy how can how can there be something wrong with you you know well
That’s spend a lot of time worrying about you know our weak what we perceive as our weakness and certainly in American society we’re always trying to make it better right and uh like like you said um I here’s what I tell people the area of your deepest wound is often the area of
Your greatest impact and so the the books that I write maybe the books that you write they’re born out of the struggle so yeah I mean if people can learn to take the struggle the negative stuff in life and realize that like you said it’s the compost um but amazing things can be
Born and created from the yucky stuff of life and someone doesn’t feel alone you know when they find their experience reflected in a book oh yeah you know they yeah just gives it’s it’s you know gives words right validation yeah and and Company you know companionship I certainly use
Books as a child i’ I kept myself buried in books and that was a way to survive yes um for me you know but it it it’s still where I love to go for Solace too is just go to a book a really good book and read it so Carrie that being said
You know do you believe that everybody has a book in them I do at least one oh yeah 100% 100% I mean so we have a Publishing Company doesn’t mean every one of our people writes the book literally sometimes they sometimes they speak the book sometimes our interviewers hear the book y everyone
But everyone has a book inside them absolutely and uh I’ve I’ve known that to be true and I think that we all want to outlive our life that’s an interesting statement um books help you do that we mentioned books books I mean I’m mentored by CS Lewis he’s been dead
For decades you know I’ve been mentored by St Paul he’s been dead for thousands of years so you can I call books not only passive income which we’ll get into but it’s passive impact you see so so you can’t always sit down and have a conversation with
Somebody literally but when you can hand them your book you can change your life but you didn’t even do it with your time it was passive impact I love that I love what you said about being mentored by I was mentored by CS Lewis too oh wow I
Loved I loved The Lion the Witch and the word my favorite books that I read when I first began to read in in second grade really and I remember being in the library and thinking I will remember this book and you know years later at Wake Forest University I was taking a
Class called faith and Imagination that was actually in the religious studies department and we looked at all the uh the Christian references in The Chronic oh it was amazing we also talked about CS Lewis’s life you know I don’t know if you know the whole story of how
He uh he took the pain of his wife onto himself you know which is really essentially what Jesus did to ourain you know beautiful beautiful beautiful books and and we also looked at all the Tolkien trilogy and all the Catholic imagery there but you know yeah books I
That I was mentored by CS Lewis just like you I was mentored by some great writers I was mentored by Virginia wolf I was mentored by uh Samuel Beckett I was mentored by um by the Bava Gita the different writers of the babago when I was reading parts of that you know what
I mean how what a great idea what a great and it’s true so think about that everyone who’s listening you know as you said Carrie we can outlive our life yes and the way we do that is in Legacy and the Legacy may live on in the people
We’ve loved and we’ve known we’ve taught we’ve interacted with but that Legacy can also be there for people who aren’t even breathing the air yet on this planet how cool is that it’s amazing it it really is and you know I know that our main topic today is the other
Streams of income and I would tell people that you’re actually serving your audience when you give your book in other versions so you know there’s a way to be like oh you’re just greedy you’re creating your book into multiple streams of of of income well look at look at
Harry Potter people experien that book uh in many other versions I mean not to mention Universal Studios right right but um yeah it’s easy to take a non-fiction book and and I by the way I did this with fiction just to shut up the haters so my fiction
Book is called elixer project it’s a dystopian uh near future fiction book and I purposely wrote a fiction book to show that yes this model could even be done with fiction so the book talks about uh future Society where people’s brains get hacked and you need to become
Unhackable and uh it talks about how a few people in col age young adults were found to be unhackable and there’s a there’s a activist group called swarmm And the tagline is everything can be hacked even the truth and so the deals with truth and like can truth even
Be hacked and anyway we turned that book into 18 streams of income and I wrote a counter a counter non-fiction book called unhackable um but yeah books can become uh workshops seminars they can become membership communities so you might say Carrie how in the world could a fiction book about two
Sisters and their um you know fractured relationship with each other over this common love for one man how could that ever be turned into 18 streams of income easy I love this example you’ve chosen like the hard example yeah and that’s easy so so the fiction writer you know sets it in
London and it’s about two sisters and it’s about their uh common love for a man and how they begin to have a fractured relationship and move into revenge and hatred toward one another well how many people on planet Earth have ever had a fractured relationship with each other so then the
Book becomes a uh a movement about restoring broken family relationships and it takes place get this in the UK so then the author goes and has a workshop immersion experience which is one of the streams of income and how how how can I say this well because I had my
Workshop immersion experiences in shaen prison like legit this isn’t a make make believe for my book called day job to dream job it’s a literal book people can look it up and it talks about how we all have a day job and that’s a shash shank and
How we need a dream job and that’s Zano and the book is broken into prison plan and payoff and I literally wrote the book I’m not I’m not even joking I literally wrote the book in sha Shang prison in Andy dufrain cell in Ohio in Ohio which is 90 minutes from my house
At the uh State Reformatory and people can Google this and I was a speaker at the 20th reunion for Shashank redemption in 2014 then they invited me back in 2019 so I spoke at the 20th and 25th reunion with Hollywood celebrities wow so you know my point is
That well and then what did I do I had dream job boot camp sha shank Edition so then I would take a mastermind and we would literally meet on Zoom I don’t even know if it was called Zoom at the time something some kind of live stream we met and then uh it
Culminated with them all coming to sha shank I would literally have a two-day seminar in the prison because it’s now a museum and I would rent it and then we would put the audience into the jail cells and they would do exercises writing reflection where they would hold
The bars literally we said don’t shut the thing because there’s no more keys so they literally held the bars and they had to process what was holding them back in their lives and why were they staying in the day jobs that they hated and wasn’t out of fear and like there was massive
Transformation that happened all because of a book about going pro with your passion beautiful see then we created a course then I had a keynote um then we had uh uh what else do we have um we had a launch book launch Team we of course the
First four turned into audio ebook hard cover soft cover so there’s different reasons why you want all four versions of your books I’m a big fan audiobooks the fastest growing publishing platform in the world you want your book on audio if you have a smartphone your book is
Technically an ebook there’s a Kindle app on every smartphone in the world you know so again this is the model we teach but a book and 18 is just a start we’ve had other people come and say what what about podcast you just mentioned your
Podcast Cruise guess what I got a book I got a podcast called the e-m mind so before the book launched it’s all about the e-m mind and I interview all kinds of fantastic people and you might say Carrie how is that an income stream you
Know how much business I get um I just got somebody in Michigan say I heard you I heard your podcast we want to hire you you know so again these are content marketing streams that turn into blog Vlog podcast and they can be sponsored by companies or you can lead them to
Your other products and services and I just did an amazing interview uh that what that came on just a bit ago about monetizing your podcast there you go and there are many ways you can do it in fact this person had monetized with no audience whatsoever
From the very GetGo wow Binger oh good it’s so good she’s she’s playful and funny so the the title was Size Doesn’t Matter how you can monetize with any with any podcast she’s a lot yeah you know so there I think that people you know this is the thing people want a
Book but here’s the other thing and I say this to folks and it just I just happened upon this right because when I was pregnant with my daughter I knew I wasn’t going to get the books I was working on then which were get out of
Debt get on with your life I wasn’t going to get them done I knew that wasn’t going to happen on the time frame I was on and I had been recording presentations of mine Carrie and first I started with one and then I added another so it was like the top traits of
Highly Effective leaders then I added the top traits of Highly Effective women playing off of the top you know obviously yeah yeah the the top traits of Highly effective people right and um as you played off of Michael Gerber’s thing and then then I added how smart women beat stress and
Burnout then I added loving your job then I added another one and so it became a whole collection get fired up collection but it started with one and the thing that was so interesting to me is that still people love these and when I speak they want these and they like to
Listen to them but reading is kind of a dying art and this is another reason why everybody listening you you really need to take this in about turning what you do repurposing it I mean even if you were to start a podcast and just read chapters from your book oh yeah right
And have some discussions of them oh yeah but make sure because people learn in different ways you know and I know you’re teaching at a university and I used to teach at the University before I started my business um you know people learn in different ways and so you want
To be of service to people in that way Absolut and some people are gonna listen to the audio they’re never GNA read the book or some people are going to come to the experiential workshop and and feel what it was like for you know Martin Luther King Jr to write his best essays
In jail right or absolutely I mean the met the metaverse right yes so uh I just finished on Netflix so I’m I’m training for France cycling next again and uh so listen I don’t want just stare at a screen so I I watch uh Netflix so I’m
Watching Netflix while I’m cycling and I see what’s the most popular show last weekend all the light we cannot see it’s I i’ had never heard of it it’s a New York Times bestselling book that they now turned into a Netflix miniseries which now we’re all consuming the book
Through a visual medium but the metaverse someday you might not just you might not just read The Lion The Witch in the wardrobe you may be in it so now you’re riding asin’s back as he takes Lucy through Narnia like how did it start it started with a
Book very powerful and yes and now like there are art galleries that are all online that are in mete right pieces of art that you buy that are in the metaverse in yeah you know it it it really is interesting you know a stream of income could be a game that you
Create from your book you know you could create a game it could be a workbook I love I love the idea of the movement that you mentioned too Carrie I really like that um because when you start a movement that means something to you then you never feel like you’re selling
Again because it’s it’s the igniting Souls movement it is true I just was just on um I did a webinar earlier today about how I got my first tedex and I had a guest on named Michelle widen brener and Michelle’s family she has a son who was
Um addicted to drugs and rather than just be like well I’m GNA deal with that as a as a mom alone she said no I’m not going to do that I’m going to create a movement called my moms of addicted loved ones and I’m going to create a
Book called unhackable moms so like she literally has turned a whole pain point of having a loved Son who’s who struggles with uh substance abuse and now she’s uniting moms across the world and she wrote a book on it and it turned into a membership Community it’s
Amazing wow you know and it could be a membership Community SL support group you know oh yeah yeah they oh when a mom’s struggling and again it’s a nonprofit like I’m not saying oh all these things have to be massively money generated I’ll tell you this though I
Think you’re actually doing a service when you charge because how many times have we gotten anything free I tell the story often where I was at a coffee shop and I was in line and you know the Barista said um hey who wants an espresso the guy didn’t show and I’m
Like oh free I heard it you know so I this is back years ago and I didn’t have a lot of money so I raised my hand I had already ordered my latte but there was a free espresso and so I got it and I’m sitting
There doing my work and and I already felt like caffeinated and so there was the espresso and I didn’t drink it because I didn’t pay for it so I just threw it away you know and I’m not a waster but I didn’t pay for it so I
Didn’t feel bad and when when when you know this when creators give all their work away for free people don’t show many times people don’t consume it and so you actually are robbing people of transformation because they didn’t have any skin in the game it says in my
Favorite book where your treasure is your heart is yeah so if you put if you put no treasure in the investment of the creative work your heart’s not right and a lot of people say from that same book you know oh money is evil well
No no it was the Love of Money exactly money the Love of Money idolizing money and see the the fact of the matter is you’re gonna if you’re a butthole before you get money you’re gonna still be a butthole after I mean seriously and if you’re a good person before you get
Money after you get money you’re gonna just be even more generous yeah it’s the truth of the matter it’s just a form of circulation of the Divine substance that we’ve agreed on that’s all it is and in fact if you look and I talk about this
Stuff in my my my get out of De book you’re kind of bringing up older Part of Me Carrie because you know I wrote these books because no one talked about money in my family nobody did and right I’ve always you know I’ve always made my own
Way and so I started to educate myself when I was a a a university professor and that’s a good thing because I lived on very little money sure you know and I teach people how and what I realized later as well I was really doing this to
Help people so they could get their finances in order and start the businesses that God put them here to do wow and not use that excuse of I don’t have the money how often have we heard that yeah now you do have the money you just choose to spend it on something

Entrepreneurs when I first started and there you know they were happy to charge other people for their stuff and then they’re like but nobody’s buying and I’m like you know what when have you invested in yourself and very few people very few invested in themselves you know
And so every time I bought a product or service man I went went into it and I I extracted the value and you know it is I’ve seen this in your life you just keep leveling up I mean you had to pay a fee to come see me in France and and um
Honestly the only reason I’m here today is because you came to France because otherwise I wouldn’t have met you I didn’t know you you know but you showed up in another country and because of that when my friend cancelled I’m like I’m going she paid I’m going to show up
You know and I was even so excited that I hit the buy button twice remember carry I remember we had refund oops I hit it twice by mistake you know I saw it come across I I saw it come across my emails and I was oh I’m
Supposed to be there no question at all but I wasn’t always that way you all and here’s the thing you know kri I help people move sore I call it sore into six figures and More in their businesses and it’s the thing that took me over a
Decade to do my myself because I tried to piece together stuff right I tried to do that little cheap way I was cheap you all and I would try to piece together stuff it does not work you know and that’s why I am who I am because I don’t

Little example you know what Simon would ask people before um again this was back American Idol when he used to do it I haven’t watched it in decades but at least back in the day he he could have asked people anything he could have said yeah what’s your CD who’s your voice
Coach how many years of training he didn’t ask any of that he said what makes you think you’re the next American Idol and then he sat back and listened and of course they had to be good but he was he was buying their belief and if they didn’t have belief the answer is
No and at the same time I want to add to that Carrie because yeah this is what I say to my clients because there’re are moments in the make it happen Mastermind where they may have an amazing thing happen like somebody now is on NBC every every month she’s hit this and she’s
Super excited and she’s now making you know 5,000 or more a month where she’s started like at 150 right 150 yeah yeah you know I mean because she was really just starting to work her business and and what I say is borrow my belief in
You yes oh I love that borrow my belief in you because trly I don’t believe in myself all the time I want y’all to really hear that because people think oh you’re so confident no they’re moments where I doubt myself and I think oh what
Have I gotten myself into you know and I actually had some moments like that before the podcaster cruise and being who I am you know what I did I did a video and just told everybody good I like I’m just feeling like wow I’m gonna
Learned so much and I’m also got so much to do and I’m thinking I’m a newbie and blah blah blah no you all just be real it’s okay we’re you know you’ve signed up to up level there’s always another level and I call it a level in it’s another level in there’s always
Another level in no matter how uh famous or how uh accomplished you are there’s always another level in to your heart there’s always something more that is coming to be and that’s why I think that if we take it back to the 18 streams of income really that’s just the beginning
Like you pointed out Carrie the the sky the limit oh there’s people who come to me and they’ve said hey what about screen plays I’m like oh now it’s 19 now it’s 20 so that’s just a start what about screen plays what about you know uh what about study groups that show up
All over the country like uh Joe Dominguez your money or your life it was a book that really changed my life and really convinced me since we’ve been talking about people that’s good going into entrepreneurial entrepreneurship instead of want preneurship want I still can’t pronounce that how do you say it
That entrepreneur wantrepreneur entrepreneurship that is hard to say but instead of just saying staying in the wanting to actually make a commitment that book was really important to me your money or your life Joe Dominguez he’s he’s passed away he’s been a passed away for a long time but guess what
There are still study groups of people studying the principles in that book and what he pointed out and I I really got it he said you know you think you’re working in this job and you’re making this and that and the other but you haven’t factored in in your professional
Clothing your commute the lunches you eat out this that and the other and I calculated it Carrie and you know I know you’re teaching college right now but I figured out I was making about six or seven dollars an hour yeah and it was that moment that I said you know I have
Nothing to lose right there’s nothing for me to lose that’s what I’m making six or seven really an hour there’s nothing for me to lose Why not start my own business I love it I love it yeah and I didn’t have a backup plan there
Was not a backup there was back burn the ships burn the ships and sometimes the ships burn themselves and that’s where when somebody says to me you know I just got laid off I I try to take a deep breath and then I say congratulations yeah you have an
Opportunity well listen I know I got a roll but let me let me say this um oh yes give everybody’s something that they can have you know complimentary or some way they can I’m just I’m happy to serve I’m happy to serve but you know it is interesting
That opportunity I’ll just close with this quick story 18 years ago when I had not much going for me I applied to be a university Professor they rejected me and I think that was uh there’s a statement that says uh people’s rejection is God’s protection I like
That I like that a lot so I then became an entrepreneur and then without even trying the university found me through a crazy Christmas party that happened last December and then they said to me Carrie we want you to teach entrepreneurship which I which I didn’t
Apply for 18 years ago and I said great but I can’t do it because I love entrepreneurship they said we want you so bad to keep your keep your keep your entrepreneur you’ll be a better teacher if you’re still an entrepreneur so now I actually get to be an entrepreneur still
But also teach you know so it’s it’s it’s an amazing thing that went full circle so if somebody’s right now struggling rejection something happened in their life I would just tell you like don’t give up on that dream fully rejection is God’s protection I love that to that you all that’s so powerful
And I think about that’s true in relationships business relationships friendship Intimate Relationships who you surround you yourself with is who you become so be careful you have around you well Carrie you have us with so much good information and so much heart and I really just appreciate you I’m really
