Dear fellow bike tourers, I have flights to Puerto Montt next Sunday to cycle down south to Ushuaia. I just learned that the Chilean wildfires also affect the area around Puerto Montt and probably the forests further south are bone dry as well. Is anyone currently in the area / cycled through it in the last days and able to give me a head up about the situation? I’m not sure wether I should go now / wait it out, since camping and cooking with high wildfire risks (and lot of tourists making campfires in the forest) does not exactly sound like a good idea.
