Brighton Hill Roundabout in Basingstoke is now fully open after a £20 million improvement scheme delivered by Hampshire County Council which will reduce congestion and speed up journey times.
The road has been widened to increase traffic capacity whilst new traffic signals aim to manage traffic flow more efficiently and improve bus travel times during the morning and afternoon rush hours along the A30 south west corridor. Toucan crossings have also been installed to enable people to cross safely. A new three metre wide fully segregated walking and cycling route has been built alongside the existing footway in Brighton Way, between the Brighton Hill Roundabout and Sullivan Road.
109 trees have been planted locally, providing an additional 40% increase of tree canopy cover on the roundabout and surrounding areas. 2,000 crocus bulbs have been planted for an early spring show and grass seeding will take place once the weather is warmer: https://www.hants.gov.uk/transport/transportschemes/A30brightonhillroundabout
