Mata has become very aggressive in his racing and training lately. He didn’t even make it to the final in Souths last year so he has something to prove to himself. Poor Matua gets no compassion from his brother in training, yes it’s tough love but keep an eye out on Matua – he gets stronger and faster every day- special thanks to their mechanic and race advisor. His devotion and hard work has paid off as of today matua is one of the fastest sprockets in New Zealand.His dream now is to qualify for the worlds after this season. Bmxworld Championships in USA Rockhill, the long journey of the Hill brothers of New Zealand.
This video is about the journey of two brothers training and competing in the BMX NZ- BMX championship series for 2024 for Qualification for THE BMXWORLDS in the USA in Rockhill. The vlog series is 12 episodes leading up to the national championships.
The theme is injury vs passion and we will start with next week’s first episode.

Add in Rock Hill’s festivals, concerts, events and sports venues and your vacation opportunities are endless.On September 27, 2019, Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the international governing body of cycling, announced the 2024 UCI BMX World Championships will be coming to the Rock Hill BMX Supercross Track in May 2024, just ahead of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France that year.

Rock Hill hosted the UCI BMX World Championships in 2017, drawing 3700 riders from 48 countries, with an estimated total attendance of over 50,000 people and a direct economic impact of $19.2 million. Prior to 2017, the last time the event was held in the United States was in Louisville, Kentucky in 2001.

As with the 2017 event, the City of Rock Hill will work with many partners to form a Local Organizing Committee to begin the process of planning for this international event. Groups who supported the bid to host the 2024 event included USA Cycling, USA BMX, Governor McMaster’s office and the Rock Hill Sports Commission.

The UCI BMX World Championships are held annually to crown a BMX Cycling World Champion. Recent and upcoming host sites include Baku, Azerbaijan (2018); Zolder, Belgium (2019); Houston, TX (2020); Papendal, Netherlands (2021); Nantes, France (2022) and Glasgow, Great Britain (2023).
