I’m reaching the end of the line with my current commuter, a 90s Centurion Oxygen with a Shimano RX100 groupset and a front rack. The rims are slightly warped, the back brake sticks, and the gears are now misbehaving. Commuting around 60-90k a week in Copenhagen, I need a reliable bike for all seasons and conditions.
I came across the [Nishiki Pro BLT](https://nishiki.dk/hybrid/alle/pro-blt—moerkegroen-pg-1333) with its low-maintenance setup and got pretty hyped on a belt drive bike, but I heavily prefer drop bars and STI shifters. It’s challenging to find a half road-bike/commuter with a belt drive and drop bars. While I initially thought about swapping the bars and adding STI shifters to the Nishiki, it seems almost impossible, especially with the Nexus 7 IG, and in general for belt drives.
So now I turn to you in the hope that this bike exists.
* Budget: Ideally >€2000, also to minimize the chance of theft in the city.
* Frame: Road’y with a fairly aggressive geometry and possibility of mounting a front-rack.
* “Groupset”: Belt Drive and STI shifters, hopefully 7+ gears.
* Brakes: Hydraulic disc brakes are preferred, but I’ll take rim if that is what the bike has.
Alternatively I’m thinking whether I should just get something custom-built, for my specific needs, any recommendations in Europe?
