The riders take a ferry back to the mainland and begin to weave through the charming small villages dotting the Italian countryside before a challenging climb takes them up over a mountain pass and down into the historic trading city of Genoa.
After a day off spent enjoying the city’s sights, the cyclists head off along one of the world’s famous roads, a winding path hugging the rugged Mediterranean shoreline that offers the riders some amazing views of the glamorous resort towns of the French Riviera.
