Day 56. 16 October 2022. Another face of the Ciro Trail, spectacular, riding through the Dinarides, along the edges of broad valleys in light that would impress the gods of ancient Rome. But note, this area was also festooned with bright red signs, warning trail users o unexploded mines, apparently quite common along this section of the trail, also a single-lane road but I didn’t see a vehicle for many miles and the villages along the way were silent and unmoving, those that weren’t abandoned and some extensive villages were this way. The Ciro Trail is a fascinating space to spend a day, or maybe as many as three days if anyone wanted to slow the ride from Mostar to Dubrovnik down to roughly 35 mile sections. Just be super careful when pitching a tent! Driving in those tent stakes could be your last act on Planet Earth.
Welcome back to Europa 360 on day 56. the scenery is spectacular I think everyone would agree in the background I’ve climbed up onto the limestone here balanced on a pinnacle if there’s the road maybe you can see my bike down there maybe you can’t this is about as much of a mountain
Climber as I’m ever going to be but I’m up here to capture this uh spectacular as I said background my GoPro has died can you imagine with all of this to record but honestly I have quite a few miles to go and maybe not enough light
So this should be it I’m going to shut it down after this a late start and spectacular scenery in a very difficult middle which I captured a bit on film and you should have seen by now has extended this day much farther than I thought it
Would but I’ll be awake tomorrow I hope sometime early apologies for the glove and um I’ll be recording Dubrovnik hopefully tomorrow morning in the next couple of days whew well that’s it from the top of a rock I’ll see you all by the by the edge of the Adriatic Sea I hope ciao
