Autumn Adventures by Motorhome ’23 : Part 4 – The beautiful French city of Tours

We’re off again and this trip will take you to Atlantic coastlines, stunning French towns and villages, the beauty of the French Alps and everything in between!

In Part 4 we jumped on Peggy the scooter and headed into Tours, a UNESCO world heritage site, for a fantastic look around the city and it’s stunning architecture. Tours is well worth a visit if you are travelling through France – we loved it 🙂

E Well we popped into down city tours for the uh for our second day at the camp and we come into a market saw read quite a bit that there was a a lot of markets and by cranky there are look at That Rabbits excuse the flickering Point L Straw wow I want that Oneal this is called Good Old Market Square and boy that was a very impressive Market beautiful produce So we’re walking generally into the old town of Tours and uh just coming up in front of us the plasta plum and look at some of these buildings wow they certainly not nachos cuz that looks a little bit modern but but but look at some of those roof lines ahead that’s some

Really not a single uh straight Frontage amongst them but wow what carrage are look at Those incredible building that wow there Absolutely Stunning and now the bottom of a lot of them come this lovely pavement side restaurants overcast today which is probably almost a blessing because we’re still about uh 27 according to the thermometer we just came past so still lovely and warm and um and a slight break from the

Full-on Sun of yesterday at the uh shatow Val Landry which was just incredibly warm and just a stunning day wow look at that PL little Plum Hle be Beautiful welcome to Ireland bit of World Cup rugby fever in town we are what are we today September the 16th so uh oh want a massive happy birthday of course to My Fabulous youngest Katie happy birthday my Lovelies got some exciting things to do on our birthday today back in the north of England such a mix of uh such a mix of architectural Styles as well go from that and the beams to this sort of slated slated building with some very ornate designs on the sides and on the corners look at those Wow that’s pretty isn’t it look right at the top there that balcony at the top what a lovely spot all those Stone pots lying the edge of the balcony wow and um like give me a poem Oh you’re feeling very uh feel in a poetry mood are with all this French

Beauty and look at this tree what’s the fruit on this tree uh fly me what is that answers on a postcard who knows what that is put it in the comments below W I’m not actually I’ve never seen never seen anything like that no not sure that one quite is Down wow it’s like sort of half the building’s gone or may have gone there little square Wow look at that that is amazing tiny little Windows on it what a beautiful bit of architecture whether it started its life as crooked as that I have no idea but doesn’t that look amazing fact there might be a bit of history on the gate there the Amon Canon 14th century look at That wow amazing old ancient old building almost every building is so Different and despite the sort of modern nature of a lot of the cafes and all that sort of thing it actually works very well doesn’t it doesn’t sort of detract from detract from the beauty of it Fantastic wow that looks like the uh Cathedral coming into view there so the cathedral is sort of behind there and then there another another lovely Tower coming view here I think we’re just coming into the pl Shadow Nerf oh that sun’s out now that’s really warming up Lovely beautiful Building A Bear you And can you believe as we’re walking around tur City somebody came up to us and warned us that there was some crazy gorilla on the loose but I just can’t I mean can you imagine anything so fanciful as that no it’s ridiculous just it’s never going to happen is it where

On Earth would you find a massive gorilla in the middle of a a French city that’s just just crazy is it yeah anyway moving on Wow bit uh King Kong is that isn’t It well I’m not quite sure what to think of that butun but yes that’s quite a tandem Well it had to happen didn’t it we’ve only been in the city about 3 minutes and Nikki dragged me into this which looks awful and well it had to happen didn’t it we’ve got hints of pine no it’s chocolate and of course I’m just checking the quality making sure

Nikki’s um being kept in the manner that she’s accustomed to and the quality of ice cream she’s accustomed to it’s really bad really bad wow what a shiny tram it’s like stainless steel very nice too that cedral well it’s pretty big it is yes and it could be a cathedral so it might

Be careful might be coming down the line go it’s a massive Avenue yeah look how far it goes right into the distance and this is apparently this is the Abid de s julan not quite at the Cathedral yet beautiful Building does has a nice feel to it this town it is it’s very it’s a lovely place isn’t it some real history here all that amazing mix of the new and old very ornate brick and Timber wow this one looks as it’s undergoing a bit of remedial strength there getness

Fantastic punkers I can hear the distant sound of that crazy bike again How could you ever be short of food here as well I cannot believe how do these places all do a trade but somehow they seem to A tiny little window there it’s literally about a foot Square ancient indeed a UNESCO world heritage site incidentally is uh is tours the city you can sort of start to see why as well such stunning architecture everywhere maybe we’ve walked for a mile or two and it’s just no end to It such a pretty city yeah so as you stroll through the par Look what comes into view wow now that is the cathedral absolutely Beau look at this Good gri now that is a tree we’re in the Muse de which is right next to Cathedral what a lovely Courtyard wow look at that Tree 31 m 7.5 M circumference Wow good grief isn’t that amazing and as you can see they’re planted in 1804 220 OD years later that tiny little seed has become This beautiful buildings aren’t they lovely little kiosk there so we’ve come and grabbed a quick quick bottle of water under these shade of these beautiful beach trees a beach and a ash looks of It another a lovely little square slightly dominated here by uh by this beautiful building look at that almost get a crook neck looking at the top of that wow what an incredible building For wow we’re in the uh we’re in the Muse de B out and just stumbled upon a little mini play going on in the first uh first Room [Applause] W H Nikki’s wondering whether her Neer Chief is a little bit a little bit lackluster compared with the model next to Her who was that perhaps I should get something a bit more fitting for France for next time we’re back at the moho do you know it’s the dress of the bouris where the commoners love the commoners very Grand clothes oh my word there some bows on That fantastic stair [Applause] A lovely picture of where we’ve just been in front of that square wasn’t it we went in there we went in the archway Yeah kaying down there kaying nice fast flowing for him have to do much bit quicker flowing than the uh Verdon Gorge is it yeah oh yeah definitely wouldn’t have to do much on there The beautiful Lir what a lovely way to P it down the river with the carbs wouldn’t fancy coming way back to be fair but that’s Lovely well Peggy survived she’s still here she’s been enjoying the market although the Market’s now gone from when we arrived at the square here but uh she’s probably enjoyed watching all the French scooters go by and admiring them I expect right we need to before I lose

The plot no think he gets more attention than I did yes right hope you enjoyed that little Potter around tur City it was very Pleasant wasn’t it though it was lovely it’s a lovely yeah Amazing Town lovely city worth visiting you could do a couple of days here easily I think
