🔴 The Red Ravine: one of the most unique natural wonders of Romania.
The canyon is located in Transylvania, a region where you can find some of the most beautiful and traditional attractions to visit in Romania. As we reached Transylvania the landscape become more picturesque, greener and more authentic. Sebeș, a surprisingly beautiful town is located 4 km away from the Red Ravine. Following the way to the Red Ravine there is an unpaved road 1 km long which leads directly to the base of the canyon.
The Red Ravine (Râpa Roșie) is an amazing rock formation beautifully sculpted by nature over the centuries featuring shapes of columns, pyramids, pillars aligned in rows. The canyon is an unique place of its kind in the country, this is why I will add it on the top attraction to visit in Romania.
The mix of red rocks and green idyllic hills create a wild and beautiful scenery, making an ideal place for hiking and spending some time into the nature.
🔴 TransAlpina scenic road: TRANSALP on TRANSALPINA
If adventure and Alpine scenery sound alluring, the TransAlpina road offers an ideal mix of the two. Winding its way through valleys and plateaus up to 7,038 feet – a height not reached by any other mountain passage in Romania – the TransAlpina road offers breathtaking views together with lots of driving excitement.
Arguably the oldest road over the Carpathian Mountains, TransAlpina was built at the beginning of the 2nd Century AD by the Roman legions during their war campaign to conquer Sarmizegetusa – the capital of Dacia (modern-day Romania). After the conquest of Dacia, the Romans have used the TransAlpina to transport to Rome the gold extracted from the central part of Romania (Transylvania). At the beginning of the second millennium TransAlpina has become one of the main transhumance routes over the Carpathian Mountains; it still serves this purpose, even today. Paving of the road began in 1930 and eight years later King Carol II inaugurated the new TransAlpina (also named during the monarchy period “the The King’s Road”).
The TransAlpina ranges in elevation from 1,476 feet at Novaci to almost 7,040 feet at Pasul Urdele; it connects central Romania (Transylvania) with Oltenia the western part of southern Romania (also called Walachia or according to some old maps “TransAlpina”).
🔴 A historical pass: the Rucăr-Bran Corridor.
The Rucăr Bran Corridor is located in the Southern Carpathians and separates the Bucegi and Leaota massifs from the Piatra Craiului and Iezer-Păpușa Mountains, forming a spectacular passage between Transylvania and Muntenia.
The Rucăr Bran Corridor stretches for approximately 25 km with Rucăr and Bran as its extreme points.
The karst relief has built extraordinary natural beauties that come to meet the tourist.
The tourist attractions that we find here are prepared by both nature and man and are perfectly harmonized.
Among the natural objectives we have: Dâmbovicioarei Gorge, Dâmbovicioarei Cave, Pecineagu Satic Dam, Ghimbavului Gorge, Gradistei Gorge, Bear Cave, Piatra Craiului National Park with its countless attractions.
The man built churches and places of worship, among which we mention the Orthodox Church of Saint George in Rucăr, the Dragoslavele Hermitage, history speaks for itself through the Bran Castle, the Mateiaş Mausoleum, the Râşnov Citadel, the George Topârceanu Memorial House.
But, the contribution and presence of man is especially noticeable in the picturesque villages that enrich and color this fairytale landscape even more.
Although man has prepared wonderful things here with his skill and generosity, still the best architect was nature, no one will be able to match her in this area torn as if from heaven.
As a tourist destination, Rucăr Bran Alley is ideal because everything that surrounds you helps you relax, forget about everyday worries and find yourself.
Ah good morning we are leaving Rema the place uh from where the sun sun rises twice over the trasco mountains we have fog we have Sun but we need to move forward because uh today we have more than 400 kilm we’re going to pass trans Alpina the road the on the highest
Altitude in Romania and we’re going to continue to Rooker bran and then stop in uh a beautiful place called The muga Village this morning it’s like a fairy tale with this fog the fog starts to go and the weather it’s uh just perfect my friend R said that uh when
There is fog there is the perfect weather and uh he was right these are kale look at these mountains man these rocks And the castle of the templers it was a military base for a military base which uh now is transforming in a kind of restaurant now we’re heading towards rupar roia or the red revine made up of huge brown reddish rocks rupar Roi is visually reminiscent of the American Grand Canyon
Although not as massive and large as the rock formation in the USA it offers Travelers an impressive view The beautiful landscape in the middle of Romania was created by the erosion of water and wind during the last 60 million years the river seash dug deeply through the layers of gravel sandstone
And quartz and created the impressive relief that still changes its appearance today the location is still relatively unknown and therefore its natural beauty is well preserved in 1968 the rupar rosi was declared a protected area still today almost 70 years later every visitor is fascinated by the natural
Rock formation to reach RAR rosi it’s quite easy the last uh 2 kilom we’re going to make it on this Gravel Road and uh yeah it’s quite impressive yeah it’s uh indeed something to be seen very close uh to trans Alpena before starting from sebes you can uh stop for 8 km and uh visit this this Place We are back to make transalpina with a trans Alp so uh it’s a great feeling to be back on this road now we’re passing uh near aasha Lake as you can see uh it’s a beautiful landscape over here and uh besides that the road which
We’re going to pass is uh the road on the highest altitude from Romania more than 2,100 m we still have uh 72 km until novat here you have even a moto garage ah look at this foxy lady hey foxy hey foxy wow she’s so beautiful man wow look at her
Tail look at her tail wow she’s absolutely beautiful man hey foxy lady yeah beautiful fox h this is the beauty of uh of this road and on the mountain roads you can pass wild animals on uh transan you have a lot of bears here are foxes this is another nice Panorama place
With this rocks and the lake it’s time to climb this beautiful Road trans Alpina with a trans Alp trans Al and trans Alpena yeah I think uh the bike loves this road and so do I I was here already three times with a motorcycle first time
Uh with the NC it was uh really rainy completely second time it was fog third time it was fog again hopefully uh now the fourth time will be uh a little bit different maybe we can see better the beauty of this road this road it’s uh DN
67c just uh to make an idea you will find it that’s uh definitely you going to find it What a place man what a road what a place and uh what a weather because uh finally I can see something here we still have to the top but uh anyway uh it’s relaxing to be able to see the road and not the fog this is actually uh called The King’s
Road we are actually uh riding through the clouds it’s almost impossible uh to come here and uh not have the clouds at this altitude as I told you it’s really impossible to come here trutza palinka it’s impossible to come here and uh have a clear picture you know
Uh lot of motorcyclist taking pictures but unfortunately the pictures are to the fog this is the landscape which you most oftenly find here on the top of trans Alpina my four time here the visibility was uh better on the rain but uh this is a sign that I need to come over
And over again here until uh there is no fog will be difficult to to find a day without a fog it’s a little bit better and better okay let’s stop here [Applause] ah transal on trans Alpena Road Oh Oh man looks like a complete cover over this area this is uh the colorful uh forest with the trees colored in all the colors possible close to B thear after quite a boring road we’ve reached uh the village of Anin noasa with this perspective uh to Rooker bran
Area we will uh soon reach this uh very nice Corridor we’re still climbing on this uh bumpy road it was uh all over all uh only like that it was with this uh potholes but indeed it’s a big big difference with the transal it uh it really
Manages to compensate this uh these pot holes however uh I feel the need for reducing the uh rebound if it would have been possible I think I managed to adjust it as a compromise between onroad off-road bumpy roads gravel and I think uh now with this uh
Front suspension placed at 11 out of 15 the rear 4 out of 7even I think it’s uh the best compromise I could found yeah we have the feeling that uh somehow on this road you’re on the offroad because of its bumps but uh yeah that’s why uh that’s
Why this bike actually handles quite well different uh terrain surfaces we’re approaching uh kulong this is the name of the Place so this is it K musel and after that uh we’re stop we’re going to stop uh to my friend in mura Village one of my favorite places from here inde need uh start some beautiful landscapes especially uh on the sunset but now uh in Autumn
The Sun stays uh quiet for a short time uh up and the highlights uh less than uh in summer this road leads to rush it’s an alternative to the National Road and uh it has much more pesque Landscapes and it’s uh not so crowded and what a light what a sunset
Light on this beautiful Rooker ban pass this is it the Rooker bran check out the clouds man it’s really impressive uh it’s an impressive show from the nature There’s a huge difference on a surface quality from County to County I mean exactly where the sign with the next County starts starts a good uh terac it’s such a huge difference B Mountain on the right side we can admire them uh on the Sunset and over there on the left side
We have Patra Cayu mountains so basically we are between Petra crowy mountains and B mountains that’s why this uh this place it’s so uh impressive and also is our accommodation I will put the link in the description it’s one of the best places to stay in this area highly
Recommended a perfect spot amazing food amazing people I will place a link in the description with this accommodation we need to climb this uh uphill to reach uh the Panorama view from uh first from PESA Village and then mura there are two Villages uh close one close to one
Another the road which reaches PESA Village is with tarmac then the road uh to Mite uh Offroad ah another blessed day with a perfect ending in mugara Village Unbelievable I’m glad to be back in this area this is one of my favorite area one of my favorites with this beautiful landscape is just impressive check out this dog she’s quite fast no chance mate and uh the terx stops in PESA Village to reach mura you need to try this uh gravel
Road is not a difficult one but uh if it’s raining could get a little bit muddy I was here with my previous NC I will put the video in the video description I put a link in the video description with my last visit here the road uh was in better condition
Last time I checked but uh I think uh with all this rainy with all this uh rain during the season all summer it’s raining here especially July even June but man it’s uh it’s an impressive landscape no matter the road but even with this road it’s not a
Problem I see some ships and uh some dogs and some ships and a big dog the big one wants to wants to fight with the it’s a kind of steep downhill oh ah look he overp me with that uh that motorized bicycle it’s so fast here smaller it’s always better in this uh
Off-road conditions salute that
