I’m having some fairly regular issues with my Vado Sl. A combination of the randomly turning itself on, not wanting to turn on, not turning off, and briefly the “motor not found” error code. The bike shop intimated it might be something to do with moisture, which is a bit concerning as I live in Scotland and get up to some fairly mucky riding on it. I was asked how I clean the bike, I’m as careful as I think is reasonable with not getting water on the head unit/charging ports, and never use a power hose. I only store the bike inside and temperatures are well within what the manufacturer advise. Has anyone else had similar issues with Specialized e-bikes?
The LBS have once replaced the y-cable which fixed things temporarily, they now have the bike to replace the TCU – after showing it worked as expected when using a donor unit.
It’s all under warranty luckily so I’m not looking for advice on a fix, rather interested if anyone else has had similar issues and/or preventative guidance. I’d like to avoid many more 70mile round trips to the “local” shop if I can. Also worried about what happens in ~12 months time when it’s out of warranty.
