Hi, I’m a roadie looking to get more into MTB. For the last 3 years I’ve had a Merida Big Seven 500 XC hardtail, which has givene a taste of MTB but I want to take advantage of the current sales to upgrade to full sus.
Budget is about $3500 AUD, spending less is always welcome. My shortlist for a bike is:
1. 29er
2. 12 speed
3. Shimano drivetrain
I live in Brisbane, the trails here are definitely more on the XC side of things, not too interested in bike parks or downhill.

Of the 4, I’m probably leaning towards the Giant due to having great support and warranty.
