Hi there, I’m trying to help my friend fix his TranzX dropper post, and got a new cable in the process.

Its a little bigger than the hole.

I went to [Sheldon Brown’s cable page](https://www.sheldonbrown.com/cables.html#wire) and I’m confident I got the right size, but I want to be sure I didn’t get the wrong cable. Do brake cables have different sized ends?

I don’t see any mention of a specific cable size in TransX’s user manual [here](https://na.tranzx.com/pages/install-and-service-manuals).

That’s a brake cable, you need a shifter cable
You need a shift cable and the missing cable barrel bolt thing for the dropper.
They look like this.

You are missing a piece that goes on the shift cable end
