The riding in Iceland was even more spectacular than we could have imagined with our #keisinspiringriders @billysbikeadventures & @richyvida.

On the epic, 6-day adventure we had the best bikes to handle this amazing landscape and a support truck like none other!

In all the extremities that are thrown at you when riding, it’s not about the conditions, but the gear that you wear.

Thank you Jesus Christ it’s so hard Welcome to Iceland guys here’s your bike and this is our software truck is it wrong if that’s more exciting so for the trip I were riding the Husqvarna 701 um and at first being used to a big Africa twin and how solid they are it

Felt weird you know and felt like I were too big for this little bike but you know a couple of days into it I got completely used to it and such a such a beast of a bike really what everyone kept saying you need to try the 450 you

Need to try the 450 so okay I’ll try the 450. a lot lighter than the 701 again when you’re used to a big Africa twin the 701 super light um but anyway I tried the 450 and and this was day two when the weather hit us

And I was struggling with the visor so I was already a bit you know lacking in confidence because of that tried the 450 and I just didn’t I didn’t gel with it and I know Billy tried the 450 and then didn’t give it back so we eat fully gelled with it and

He loved it whereas I think I had an hour on it and I just said you know I don’t need a moment can I have a 701 back so I swapped back and I stayed on the 701 for the rest of the trip and I absolutely loved it and I’d got really

Comfortable with it and you know used to what it can do and how to make it do this how to make it do that and I was getting used to you know spinning around corners like going sideways around corners and giggling when I’m coming out of the corner thinking yes that worked

You know but yeah 701 Husqvarna absolutely lovely interestingly enough Richie found that he preferred the 701 he just gelled with it from day one I spent about an hour on the KTM 450 and then that was it I didn’t go back to the 701 for me I I just absolutely loved the 450

And gelled with it immediately my riding went from being okay to well I thought it was okay too amazing um and I was doing things that I never thought I would do certainly not on a 701 it’s probably given me confidence having that experience now to do things

Like that on a 701 or a bigger bike but having had the 450 and to do what we did the terrain that we rode over not only on that day that I switched but then I stayed on that 450 for the rest of the trip and I had the best time on that

450. I absolutely loved it obviously doesn’t have as much power but it’s lighter and I felt so much more confident about giving it some gas in the corners on the sand uh and and doing 90 miles an hour in sand just like it was crazy it was brilliant I loved

Everyone of it I can’t get over the amount of abuse these bikes take they’re just being battered all the time I don’t know uh be interesting to see how long they last you know before you have to swap them at this level as well I don’t mean you know normal riding be interested

See how often he’s watching following the whole trip was this cool big old German fire truck and it basically went everywhere when I first saw this truck he’s got a cables going into each tire so you can alter the pressures within the cab depending on the terrain I mean how cool is that

Just very cool and then the only thing I regret about the trip is I didn’t get to have a go in the truck because it looked bloody brilliant and it houses our food supplies for the six days importantly the beer that we need for the six days

As well as all of our luggage to take with us a spare bike other bits and pieces for maintenance on the bikes if we need to The thing that I was most impressed about that truck not only the size of it but everywhere we went on the motorbikes that truck followed us and followed us in a way where when we pulled up we would only be waiting five minutes at most

For the support truck to catch us up and in some places we were tanking it along these tracks and to know that that support truck was only ever five minutes behind us and in some of the destinations that we went to that was incredible guys such a cool truck

This is a super nice vehicle all the other guys running around the mountains here they are you know they lose their mouth you know even they when they see me on the truck And he did this weird thing I was right behind him and Scully stopped and he said just one second I might I’m out of gas and he laid his bike on the floor One Way stood it up lay it on the floor the other way and I’m thinking what’s he doing

Gets on his bike starts it back up carries on riding like oh here’s me thinking you have to go to a petrol station when you run out of fuel just lay your bike on the floor and and off it goes bizarre in it we saw an abandoned 4×4 actually

Um obviously broken down we assumed it was Scully said that that’s probably what had happened and they’d gone on foot to try and get help um but yeah these trucks that these people own are well kitted up for you know being in this terrain all day long

And we saw a lot of trucks that had the the um the air compressor pipes going into the tires so that from the cabins you can just increase or decrease the tire pressure to suit the the terrain that you were going over this kind of almost

Makes me want to live out there so I can get I can get one thank you this is where your waterproof clothing comes in on your socks this bike is uh Frankie’s come alive I think now this traction control unit or the mapping unit whatever has gone it’s

Changed I think from one to two schools you okay riding was even more spectacular than I could have imagined the the landscape it was more than epic in in every way that I expected um challenging but but fun I definitely feel like I’m a better Rider tonight now

Than what I was this morning um so I’ve I have tried to push myself a little bit and it’s been great it’s been great fun just brilliant it’s handled itself in every way that it should today so yeah really good it’s been far too much but this little brain to compute

This whole trip you know it’s just been absolutely amazing
