I had some old 26” rims and hubs off of a couple different 90s-00s trek 820 and specialized Hardrock steel mountain bikes.
I mashed them together with some new spokes….and I’m too cheap to buy a truing stand so I made one out of aluminum angle stock.
Came out ok I think. The aluminum rims spent a week in the ocean a decade ago…interesting story there for another time…but they trued right up. Now I have to lace the rear. Ignore the mess in the garage. Been meaning to tidy up but keep getting distracted with bikes!
