Hello! Currently building a fixie on the cheap.
Its an almagamation of two different bikes, an old fixie I used to ride and a vintage racer. I’m having trouble with finding information on how to swap the cassette on the older wheel with the flip flop setup.
In order to fit the flip flop hub does the entire wheel need to be rebuilt with the flip flop hub? If so, would it just be possible to screw the track cog to the new hub? I dont really mind losing the flip flop if I can just have the fixed cog. Or would it just make more sense to buy an entire new rear wheel with a flip flop hub? The wheel the flip flop is attatched to is in pretty awful condition hence the swap.
If its possible to simply swap the flip flop onto the new wheel, what tools would I need? I’ve attached the photos below of both wheels, the track hub needs some work as it’s rusted to bits but I’ll scrub that up.
Thanks so much.
