I’m thinking about buying an old Marin, but am having trouble finding out what year it’s from. The buyer is slow to communicate, so I have had trouble getting any photos from him. What I have isn’t terribly helpful… Or perhaps it is. I’ve tried using old catalogs as guides, but some of the catalogs I’ve found aren’t from the US and overseas models had different paint jobs than US ones for the same year. I think it’s from 1993. Earlier models had Ritchey headsets and this one says Marin on it. It looks like it has the constant diameter seat stays and later models used “Marin” tubing instead of Tange. This one has Tange MTB tubing with a Marin fork.
Also, how would this bike have compared to other bikes from this era like Specialized, GT, Trek, or others?
