Marcel Kittel is a cycling legend and one of the best sprinters to have ever lived, the winner of 14 Tour de France stages and many other races, but one thing he has never done is bikepacking. Conor invited him along on an outdoors adventure, to bikepack from Germany to the top of the iconic Planche des Belles Filles climb in order to watch stage 7 of this year’s Tour de France!

What a great video, loved everything about it. Marcel seems like a super cool guy. Also, I think this is the first time I've seen a Rose bike on this channel!
Great video, brought back fond memories of visiting the tour… last time 2016, cycling up the Tourmalet and camping out overnight to await the race then on to the Ventoux stage where Chris Froome had to run! Chaos but the atmosphere of being at the race is something every fan should try to experience.

I saw you at the top of planche Conor, about 1 /1:30 in the afternoon. I had just rode the 20% part and was too out of breath to say anything. You looked stressed anyway, probably been mobbed so many times for pics already. It was a great day out, and great to see the climb again on this video.

Why do I always see many sports cyclists avoiding luggage carriers. as you now cycling can never (is not) handy be. Better would be behind and possibly of those large panniers that you also use on your city bike that is just much more convenient and cycling more pleasant.

We cycled from Le Havre to Paris in 2013 and rode the Champs de Elysee on a Randonee a few hours before the race got there.

This was fantastic to see. Though I'm late to comment, I'd love to see another one of these bikepacking videos with Marcel. He's a great guy and obviously had fun filming the video and riding to the tour. He had a rough time when he decided to end his professional career. It was corageous, as the German public loved him, and gave him a hard time when he called it. He seems all good now. If he's up for it, I'd love to see another ride like this.
