Just how important is it?
I’m struggling to find a shop with the required tools. One mechanic said the frame looked okay to him and facing / chasing wouldn’t necessarily be required; another at a different shop said it’s best to be be on the safe side for the bearing’s sake.
Keen to hear some opinions on how important it is overall. Would I be foolish to skip the step?
I’ve never had to do it before – supposedly it’s quite old school to leave these jobs down to the new owner.
