On our evening gravel ride a unique opportunity appeared. After days of intense night frost a shallow lake near Tilburg (NL) was covered in thick ice. We saw it, we doubted, we tested it a little and than we went for it. Two of us rode 45mm and the friend I filmed on the white bike on 32mm in his gravelbike. My 45mm gravel tyres gave me more traction on the straight than I had expected. Going hard and straight was easy and fun, cornering was almost not possible. Would you take such a shortcut or would you play safe and follow the trac?
