This cycle path is part of the London Road cycle lane infrastructure in Leicester, UK. Unfortunately, it is on the wrong side of the road for southbound cyclists.

The southbound London Road cycle lane ends on the opposite side of the road to where this begins. then re-starts on the opposite side of the road to where this ends.

In order to travel south using this section, people on bicycles will come to the end of the southbound London Road cycle lane and need to cross the busy London Road using a Toucan Crossing.

Then they can join this short length of cycle path.

Then they have to cross the busy Victoria Park Road using a Toucan crossing.

Then they have to cross the busy London Road again using two Toucan crossings.

Then they can rejoin the southbound London Road cycle lane, where it re-starts on the correct side of the road.

It’s a mess. It’s easier just to join the main carriageway of London Road between Evington Road and Mayfield Road rather than wait at four Toucan crossings just to use this short section. It’s a shame, because in itself this short section of cycle path is quite pleasant.
