When I cycled around Iceland in July and August 2023, I managed to use my solar panel a few times to charge my electronic gear.
Admittedly, I was super-lucky with the weather on my Iceland bicycle trip, but even so, it surprised me that I used it so often!
Did I need the solar panel in Iceland though? Debatable.
Every campground had somewhere to charge up my electronic gear, and I also brought powerbanks with me. I could probably have gotten away without the solar panel on this bicycle tour around Iceland.
Still, it was nice to have as a backup now and again, and the feeling of being a little bit more self-sufficient was a nice one when cycling Iceland!
