I recently bought a second-hand Cube Hyde Race (my 2017). It comes with a Gates S150 crankset, Thun Zumba bottom bracket, CDN 111t belt and the infamous/awful/dreaded CDN composite sprockets. Rear size is 22t and front is 46t.
After just two weeks of commuting I managed to break the rear sprocket. I noticed that the front sprocket wasn’t looking so nice anymore either, so I figured: why not replace the entire drivetrain with CDX components? I am happy with the gear ratios, so I don’t need to change the number of teeth and/or belt size.
I ordered the following parts:
– CDX 111t belt
– CDX 46t front sprocket, type B5 (CT11465AA)
– CDX 22t rear sprocket, type XU (CT1122XMN-U)
Beforehand I looked up Gates’ manuals to order the right parts (which I mentioned above).
After installing the parts, I noticed a sound that sounds to me (from experience) like a belt out of alignment. However, I’m having trouble seeing the misalignment with my bare eyes.
I can’t find info about the beltline spacing for this frame. Could it be that I ordered the wrong rear sprocket, so with a 45,5 mm beltline spacing (unified offset) instead of 43,7 mm?
