  1. Needed some rain on it to slow up everyone a bit to get back that starting position.. Only sport I know where they disadvantage competitors against each other before the event has even started…

  2. If the start placement based on a lottery, is there a points system in your age group ? seems unfair if you are chasing a season result. great result though from the back row

  3. Yup you have the right stuff. To come from the back to 13th on that course and being one of the youngest in your group is excellent. So many pinch points on the course where a better rider like you got held up – the beach sand hill was savage.
    I watched the Mens Elite race and the ground was a lot drier then IMO.

  4. You always seem to have to start at the back! Maybe it’s not a lottery!! Good that you were happy with your finishing position after using a lot of energy in the first half of the race. For your translation we would say 48 competitors not 48 departures. Your editing skills are good 👍
