The Far North Westfjords of Iceland: A beautiful day greets us as we ride a road that’s crumbling into the Atlantic Ocean. We are stoked to be able to spot seals, discover a hidden hot spring and find a idyllic little place to cook up some taste breakfast with freshly picked blueberries. The coastal scenery is stunning as we ride in and out of the huge fjords. An epic camp spot turns the tide on us with a series of mishaps and eventually we even have to break off our tour prematurely…

  1. Thank you Iceland for a wonderful time out! We still fondly remember the relentless wind, cold driving rain, desolate landscapes and stoic inhabitants. When we can, for sure we will visit and explore more of your natural beauty and fascinating culture! Thanks everybody for watching, our next adventure is in the making… Wishing you all the best, E&M

  2. Thinking and praying for you Mari and your family. I am sure your grandma was immensely proud of your adventures. Perhaps she had some adventures of her own and hearing her stories ignited a flame in to to have some of your own. Bless you both.

  3. Funny your comment about gender roles. I think as a species we misinterpret our “roles” as a predjudice when it might be centuries of habit for suitability or kindness or natural ability rather than a negative conscious bias.
Maudi, as a great grandmother I can appreciate your sad news from both sides. Grief is more gentle when shared, thank you sharing that with me. I hope you can go on living your best life and experience your greatest joys in honor of her memory. I’m sure she would love that. Hugs to you both.

  4. Hi Eric. You and I had chatted briefly before on your Infinity saddle. I'd like to ask how it has been working for you and how is it in the colder weather? Thanks.

  5. Moest lachen met dat stukje met die zeehonden, ineens een shot van maudi tussen het gebeuren, maudi there taking Pictures, man so cool🤣, het laatste stukje moest ik huilen, sterkte 🙏.

  6. Hello. I've had an interest in the infinity saddle for years but given the price I'm scared to take the leap. I was curious if you planned on doing a review of it after riding for a while on it now or did you already mention it and I missed it? Also, when are you planning on riding the United States? I love your content. Thanks.

  7. I've watched a few videos from Iceland now. A wild, untamed and beautiful country that demands probably everything from a biker. Nevertheless, you both have a nice interaction with each other – that's how it comes across in the videos. I'll probably watch a few more videos – I ordered a touring bike and can't wait to get it 🙂 Regards from Switzerland – Heini

  8. with regard to difficulty getting tires off, been using the Rehook Tyre Glider. Found it very easy to get on and off , a 32mm Shwalbe marathon plus a 40mm Shwalbe marathon mondial and 40mm marathon supreme.

  9. Quick tip if a tire is difficult to put back on: Squeeze the tire all the way around the wheel. This sets the bead deeper in the rim, giving it more slack and making it easier to put on. Finish one side of the tire before doing the other side.

I'd also advise against using tire levers to put it back on. In my experience there is significant risk of pinching and puncturing the tube. I once fixed a leak, only to make two new ones with the levers… 🙂

  10. Hi, your cycle adventures are extraordinary and very inspiring. All the wonderful places you go and the people. I wanted to know if you've cycled through Portugal 🇵🇹. I could find some of your trips through Spain, but none in Portugal. Nothing particular about it, purely for curiosity. Thanks for all these wonderful videos and information about your equipment, gear, etc. It's wonderful.

  11. Hi guys. This is the first time I comment or your videos. I stumbled upon one of your videos recently after following quite a few bike tourers. I fell in love with you and channel instantly, and now I find myself go through all of your content, both practical and adventure videos.

I decided to comment on this video specifically because of these reasons:
-The beautiful shot to sky from the tent floor and you putting the rain cover. Smart shot and lovely outcome.
-the decision to share your hard moment honestly and without making a click bait item from it.
-the kindness and calm attitude towards one another. I guess some rougher moment are still there off camera, bust still.
-the amazing cinematography all the way from shooting to editing. Love every moment.

You are really amazing. Thank you.
And sorry for your loss Maudi.

  12. The berry inbetween the blueberrys is called Vaccinium uliginosum
If you eat a couple hands full, you will get high on cyanides and alcaloides. I had tunnelvision and fluffyness after eating them exidentally.
The only way to destinguish between Blueberrys and the Uliginosum is the color of the flesh. Red=Blueberry
Dont eat the Uliginosum regularily, Cyanides stay inside the body for a long time.
