Here we have something which is pretty astonishing – a train station with a SMARTdri! Unfortunately though, this one is either dying, or has a severely blocked filter, since this dryer appeared to be on max power judging by the noise, however the air was about as power as the Airforce knockoff at Pizza Hut King’s Lynn. My hand was still soaking wet after a complete cycle, plus a couple of seconds.
As you may remember, I showed this dryer in a picture of the toilet on National Rail’s site as my first Short, since I was completely amazed that there was one present in a train station. Ever since I found that, I’d been really wanting to come and see this, hoping that it hadn’t been replaced. I was very happy when I heard it whilst waiting for the toilet, however that happiness turned into disappointment when I attempted to dry my hand with it.
One of these has been filmed by @345berry at Clacton-on-Sea station, meaning that Lowestoft isn’t the only station to have one. From what I can tell in that video, that dryer appears to be performing fine.
I noticed that the PHS logo on the side of this doesn’t actually have any text below it, which it always does on Airforces. I don’t believe that it could’ve just rubbed off, since there isn’t enough space below the logo for the text.
I don’t quite understand how there’s a large chunk of porcelain missing above the trap in the toilet.

The decibel readings featured on this channel are not scientific, and therefore are not completely accurate. I have created a project called decibel database, which allows you to compare dryers, and gives you an overall peak average for each dryer type. EPIIIIIIQUE!
Epique, the ones i filmed at Beefeater White Rock Paignton were WH branded.
A certain few driers are frightening in Lowestoft, certainly try Oxford Tavern if you could, i'd love to see an update on the Anda drier there.
The Ones In Beefeater Milngavie Have Warner Howard
this is a royal soviet I know bencause wall red and no brand on frunt
There's remnants of text under the PHS logo if you look carefully
Nottingham Station had these in one or two toilets on the platforms but they've been replaced with Airforces as seen on a video, and the concourse toilets have those Dolphin-branded GSQ250s that I filmed. The toilets were destroyed in a fire about 5 years ago and I have no idea what was there before the fire.
It’s amazing this still survives, I’ve probably mentioned before but as you know I once found 2 Xlerator Eco’s at Hartlepool train station which was a very unusual discovery for that type of location.
Middlesbrough train station also has an interesting history, with Robust R2600EA presumably used in Mid 2000s to early 2010s in all toilets as disabled had it, then something else and possibly something else aswell between 2012 – 2017/18 then KINGWE Sanidrys, then in 2023 they installed HU02’s!
0:23 that flickering used to happen on my old Samsung all the time.
The only Train Station I have recently visited is Liverpool Lime Street Station and that has Dyson's the Last Time I checked which was in 2022. Ill try and Film the Disabled toilet when I go there again since I have a RADAR Key as well as a Class 390 which I heard has proper hand dryers compared to the other "Hand Dryers" on Trains.
I always think that PHS SMARTDri's are less powerful than WH and PSHWH SMARTDri's as when I used both a WH and A PHSWH SMARTDri, I could feel there was more power compared to the PHS SMARTDri's.
My nearest train station has Dyson Airblades with the yellow vents.
WHAT IN THE WORLD?! This is pretty rare!
My local train station doesn’t have toilets, but there’s 3 other stations near me that has toilets, Gosnells and Thornlie has HU02’s but Cannington (The one getting rebuilt soon) has modified HOKWANG EcoSlenders.
The SMARTDri at my local IKEA upstairs is in better condition than the one downstairs that I filmed , LE2020 has filmed the one upstairs twice. I think the one downstairs that I filmed there is in very very similar condition to this one.
Hello Uk Hand dryers, please may you tell me (if you know) why my iPhone 13 films in 4K 60fps but then only goes to 1080p when uploaded to YouTube, thanks.
I thought you’d know since yours goes to 2160p on YouTube
I need to try and film one of the SMARTdris at touchwood soon before they get replaced , I am going on Saturday so hopefully I’ll get to go to one of the toilets with them.
