In the U.S., I live about 35 kilometers from the U.S.-Canada border. There, crossing the border is sort of an ordeal–you have to stop and tell a border agent where you’re from, what your intentions are for visiting the Great White North, how long you’re going to be there, etc. In short, it’s a hassle. (Even though Canada and the U.S. have never had any real hostilities between them.)
Thus, here in Europe I never ceased to be amazed with the ease that one can pass from one country to another country, even if–in the not all that distant past–the border-sharing countries share some awful history. (E.g., France-Germany, Luxembourg-Germany, etc.)
So, I’m intrigued by things such as the Dräi Länner Eck (three-country corner) wherein Luxembourg, France and Belgium all come together at a single spot, and again the ease with which one can ride a bike ’round and ’round through country to country to country. Intrigued too, that’s it’s not easy to find. It took me about an hour of searching yesterday near Rodange, but I think I found the right spot. Hei ass a klenge Video.
