This is a photo of my front wheel axle. It is a hollow axle looks like designed to take a quick release skewer. The front forks dropouts rest directly on the tiny bit of exposed screw thread you can see. It seems to line up OK in the sense that when it’s in place the edge of the thread is flush with the outside of the dropout. But it seems very precarious to me. Also the metal of the dropout being directly on the threads seems just wrong somehow. Am I missing some bits or just stick quick release skewer in and ready to go? I don’t want to mess this up and faceplant!
