I bought this bmx in 2019 used to get into the whole bmx thing, but haven’t used it much, then tried cleaning out the headset a while ago and lost some bearings in the process. Sent it to get fixed with new bearings because the guy didn’t have a new headset in the size of my frame or whatever, so he just put some bearings in and it now turns good, and isn’t loose anymore. Although he did seem to raise it up from the frame a little a long time ago due to some loose headset issue, but I can’t exactly remember why. The headset turns and functions good now that I have all the bearings, but I don’t know if it’s bad to have this gap? If it functions good and isn’t damaging the bike the only problem I could see is debris getting in. Should I try lowering it? Or is it fine. I know the bike isn’t fully water resistant since the bearings at the bottom of the fork seem not to be sealed so I won’t be letting it get wet or anything, but from what I can see even the rain could get into this gap.
