  1. Congratulations. You appear to have lowered your saddle such that you are not rocking in the hips, as I commented last year. However, you are giving away watts by the shoulder sway back and forth. That sway has got to be worth some additional significant time gains. Way to kill the swim and hold together the run for the distance. Impressive!

  2. Great indeed, l love to imagine what a huge inspiration athlets like you become for young generations, when l was a teenager, the happiness had to look like this and this is what I wish all young ones today, have fun kids🎉❤🎉❤🎉

  3. with the injury and a sonso season so far didnt know what you re going bring on the day at kona. but boy oh boy you had a lot to bring. crashed on the swim, devastating on the bike and a sub 3 run to break the course record. wow hats off.

  4. Just read about you on the Beeb website – WOW !!! Many, many congratuations to you, Reece and your team. I was knackered just watching this vid!! The levels of committment, desire and sheer determination you – and the other athletes – must display is off the chart. Huge respect to you. Briliant, briliant achievement. Kudos. Two Scousers in NS Canada.

  5. What a great video. So good to reflect back now after the win and all the hard work and dedication you put in. You certainly gave it your all and left nothing behind. So pleased for you Lucy. Enjoy the celebrations 🎉👏

  6. Your face when you came across that finish line and the realisation hit was simply stunning, I'll remember it for a long time. You made a 62 year old ex pat Englishman living in NZ burst into the happiest of tears. So deserved. Lets hope we see you in person at 70.3 IMWC in 2024. Congratulations TCB.

  7. Love your wholesome attitude towards triathlon, unlike Lionel Sanders it just seems so much more chilled. Lionel's approach seems like its a life and death struggle in training and racing, whereas yours, even though its hard work, seems more like a subtle journey towards an end goal and that goal is not only winning but also just wanting to test your mental and physical resolve. Its a far more spiritual journey whereas Lionel tends to be fighting his demons more than anything else and this I feel distracts him from his goals. But this is not about him.
As my mom always used to say when you hit a tough spot in life, "just go back to basics".
Well done and congrats on your victory at Kona may you be blessed with many more.
    The mermaid adventure beckons.

  8. I feel bad I didn't watch this after you posted it, I watched the live coverage and saw your amazing win, after last year and your 2nd places/injures and then coming back to win, what an amazing journey, way to stay in the game and what a support system you have with family and Reese, and of course I would be remiss if i didn't mention the dogs, if you got a new puppy for a second place win what do you get for the Championship?

  9. Thank you for sharing these inspirational videos Lucy!!! You rock. I see that you mostly use a combination of a large chainring 56/44 or 58/44 with a 11-28 cassette, and used the 1x50t with 11-32 cassette. I am curious about your thoughts on the combination of a 1x48t chainring with a 9-45 cassette or so? Thank you!

  10. Your videos are never boring! Great music, great video and commentary, and well, you two are just nice to look at! You inspire me in my quest to race Kona in 2025 on my 60th birthday! Fingers crossed. Thank you for the inspiration.
